Damn, This Motorola Looks Good!

When I hit Phonescoop's page, I caught the glimpse of this out of the corner of my eye and immediately thought, "Wow, what the hell is that?" It's the most beautiful Motorola design since the KRZR.

Your customers were likely referring to Verizon's upcoming RAZR maxx Ve, a CDMA version of the handset you were showed previously. There's discussion about it here: http://howardforums.com/showthread.php ?t=1008494 Motorola's promotional page: http://promo.motorola.com/maxxve/index .html

Re: Motorola Quality = japhy's Blatant Lies

in the Article: Motorola Leaks 3G Updates To Investors forum

What blatant lies. I mean, just outrageously made up stories. Motorola is moving less product than they have in years past? Sales are down? Marketshare dropping? Won't be too long before they're gone? Motorola has GAINED marketshare through the 4Q 2006 quarter. Sales in the mobile devices unit were up 47% having moved more units than they ever have in history at nearly 66 million handsets. Revenue (the sum of money collected from all goods sold) was up 17%. ...

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the Motorola rendition of the Ultra Series. Samsung really beat them to the punch by matching miniaturization (likely to another extreme with thinner-than-RAZR slimness) with higher end features. I'd bet that this was Motorola's next move.

Sprint Continues to Lead in Churn!!!!!!!!

in the Article: Sprint Offers Free Access To Desktop Email forum

I ordered a Samsung M610 and they turn around and tell me it's not available yet. THEN WHY'D YOU ANNOUNCE IT?! WHY WAS IT ON YOUR WEBSITE?! Sprint can't do anything right. I'm going back to Verizon.

Of course the Whooper is a rip off of the Big Mac. What a ridiculous question. And I'm glad someone brought up the A900 for once. I think LG brought some SCH-V740s (the Korean A900) to the lab and used it as the basis for their KV-2300 (the Korean KG810, VX-8600). Samsung should be offended more than anyone else.

Get that hate out your blood, toidi. Hating an inanimate object. RAZR's here to stay, man. You need to get used to it. Now that Moto's returning to Sprint, you'll have two different product lines of RAZR to push at The Shack.

Cingular Didn't Do Sh*t
Sep 2, 2006, 7:25 PM
in the Article: Preview: MOTOKRZR K1m forum

Cingular brought Motorola out of the darkness? LMAO! The RAZR could've launched anywhere on any network and it still would've blown up. More like Motorola helped Cingular through their merger by giving them that one year exclusive on the silver and what's seemingly a lifetime one for black. Aside from that, it's subjective as to which KRZR is best. While the American CDMA will have the touch-sensitive buttons and EV-DO, the GSM will have a 2mp ...

Re: POS Samsung

in the Motorola W315 forum

I implied the internal antenna stipulation was on entry-level handsets, Chaebol. You'd be a fool to not see the difference between Verizon and Sprint when it comes to internal antennas on their cheaper phones. If Verizon is finally coming around with the A870 as you state, then fine, but it was probably post-W315 development. At the same time, if LG's internal antenna performance for their new entry-level handsets is anything like the Chocolate series and Samsung ...

Re: POS Samsung
Aug 15, 2006, 9:52 PM
in the Motorola W315 forum

What was Motorola thinking? Hopefully not the same thoughts going through Samsung's mind when they constructed that POS A850. My goodness, that has to be the worst phone in Verizon history. This W315 could be built like a feather and it'd still be an improvement over that Korean abomination. What new entry-level Samsung is coming to Verizon with an internal antenna? What new LG, for that matter? It's obvious that these extennas are on account ...

POS Where it Counts Most
Aug 11, 2006, 2:01 PM
in the Article: Review: LG Chocolate forum

"Despite Verizon's rather thorough coverage of San Francisco, our Chocolate rarely showed a full four bars of 1x or EV-DO. While this probably is not an accurate reflection of Verizon coverage, it was an accurate reflection of the Chocolate's reception. This phone had a difficult time holding on to a signal. When signal strength was good, calls were still choppy. When it was bad, the phone dropped calls quite consistently. Although the phone initially showed a signal in our ...

On one hand, you'd think that Moto would be right there with pink for the early 2007 Valentine's Day/Mother's Day season. On the other, it depends on what kind of longevity Moto wants from this handset. If it's going to start expensive while dropping down in price through 2007, then they might not bring pink until early 2008 to help keep it alive. Motorola uses colors strategically.

I know what Garriques said, he can "hint strongly" all he wants to. I'm just wondering how CNET could come to the conclusion that this device has 850 and would be one of the first North American HSDPA handsets. That's not a mere typing error.

Is There More Than One RAZR maxx?
Jul 27, 2006, 3:17 PM
in the Article: Motorola To Launch HSDPA Phones in Q4 forum

I keep finding places that claim the RAZR maxx is quadband with UMTS/HSDPA 1900. What gives? There's at least three (somewhat) reputable sites now claiming quadband, about the same number, including Phonescoop, who claim otherwise. http://mobilegazette.com/motoro la-razr-maxx-06x07x25.htm http://www.pcmag .com/article2/0,1895,1993967,00.asp http:/ /reviews.cnet.com/4520-6454_7-6557901-1.html? tag=txt Did they just make this up out of the blue? Is there more than one maxx? Were some of those Moto reps confused?

What's With the V3xx Case?
Jul 25, 2006, 5:58 PM
in the Article: MOTO2006 forum

Rich, do you have -any idea- whatsoever why Motorola would choose to put the V3xx in that old case? It seems like such an incompetent move, I figure there's a method to their madness that I just can't see. Will it be cheaper this way or something?

On HoFo, the CDMA Razr was confirmed to have both microSD storage and Bluetooth by two of our insiders (they actually used the phone and all, posted two videos and pics). Therefore the CDMA Razr or Razr V3c is actually more equivalent to the GSM Razr II, albeit much more crippled and stricken with that horrible red and white UI (also shown in the videos).

Unfortunately, many people would prefer Nokia's strong reputation for durability and overall more impressive handsets than Samsung's half-@ssed "Masterpieces." If you need a pretty UI, though, there's nothing better than a Samsung.

Yes, it will replace the V710. Expected to be available by July 10th. $200 with a 2yr contract, and that's probably after the $50 rebate.
