Definately both. Had one call yesterday where the reps tone of voice made it seem they were just asking questions and gathering information. The cust didn't want to get a replacement. The rep placed a replacement request anyway. Another call I told the cust about ship time, told the cust that once processed it was final and not reversable. When I gave the date he would get his phone he freaked out. Mind you I had just ...

Nextel phone. i730. Had no problems until a week or so ago. Can access everything through the phone. Only has problems when it's connected to the PC with a data cable. At this point I'm hosed because I don't have a home phone to call tech support on. So I can only call from teh phone to be near the PC to do anything.

I get these all the time. Me: The ESN is located under the battery, it's on a sticker that is on the phone. Cust: [fumble fumble] ..... Me: Hello? Hello? For quality assurance purposes disconnecting the line no response.

Actually it looks like the info they have ties the i836 to the i830. In other words they are the same phone basically. Look at the i730 from Motorolla. Those are all the same phone but it lists 5 different models. Round phones are likely not released in the states. Most of them are Japanese releses. Google it for crying out loud. And lose the caps lock.

Data problems.

I use my Nextel to connect my computer to the internet. Expensive option I know. Recently it stopped loading web pages. It says connected, my IM program will connect and I can chat on it. Web pages start to load then 'Waiting for www.insertanysite.com' and nothing. Eventually it times out. Called support. We checked settings on my computer (well I read to them what I had allready checked) They sent me to 2nd ...

I can understand you don't have the time to monitor everything. And you shouldn't have to. Sadly the lounge has become a situation where the inmates have started to run the asylum. People have asked, people have shouted, insults have been sent on both sides. So now I ask how can I help. We've tried to just let it die, ignoring it does not work. If anyone complains a certain user starts calling them whiners ...

Yes I care. That's why if there is a problem with the phone we send them another. No questions aske within the first 14 days of them having it. If it's more than 14 days later and they have a problem it's covered under a warranty. Oh.. wait.. the customer is taken care of? Well... looks like I've proved you wrong. I love people like you too. Hmm.. a reconditioned phone. The nerve! Why I bet it's not even mentioned in the customers coverage certificate they may recieve a reconditioned phone. Oh wait. I bet it is. I bet the customer didn't read that. No no... can't be that. There's no WAY an insurance company would follow a legal document like a coverage certificate. [/sarcasm]

Well then. Using your own logic strengthens my point. I've had plenty of friends deal with eBay (I myself purchase nothing) A majority of them have all had problems. When dealing with ins replacemnts. I've only seen claims denied in accordance with guidelines set out by the coverage certificate. SO to paraphrase your "catchy phrase" You take your chances, I'll not take mine. Whatever riskes you want it's your karma not mine.

For some reason I doubt it. That's sort of like asking for a Ford Corvette. It may be possibly they are having a different Blackberry. Or a smartphone RAZR. But not a Blackberry RAZR. I could be wrong tho.

I'd wager a bet the tech pulled the battery or checked the charge port and found signs of water. Or the phone passed all the test and there really *is* nothing wrong with the phone. I did sound for verious theaters, also run for different singers, I'm sure the customer 'heard' a differance. There are differances in the sound quality of phones. But it's never been enough to throw a fit over. These aren't high end speakers in ...

I don't know who you work for. But I'm sure glad I'm not your customer. That's hands down the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Can you verify the condition of any phone on eBay? Can you tell me if it's had any sort of failure just from the picture? Secondly what warranty is there for that eBay purchase? Not to mention what if you end up dealing with a "less than savory" seller? Heaven forbid ...

Rich, Has any consideration been given to have the layout of the site be dynamic. Where it would expand to fill larger monitors or higer resolutions. This is completely a cosmetic question and I know there are far more pressing issues. I was just curious. Thanks.

I agree. I'd love to see something done with that behemoth. It managed to make it's way to page 7 at one point. Then someone decided it would be cute to bring it back. But again, I refuse to fight the thing. It doesn't matter if you ask nicely or scream abusively they won't leave it be.

I deal with these sorts of situations everyday. Then again I'm in a line of work where you have to. Daily customers will call and throw a fit because they didn't read the terms and conditions of the agreement they signed. Inevitably they state they'll just cancel everything and move to a different carrier. I respond "I'm sorry if you feel that is a neccessary step. However that is an option if you choose ...

Re: is polyphonic the same thing as mp3 ringers?
May 20, 2005, 5:18 PM
in the Tricked Out forum

Pretty much true PsYkE. Polyphonic is still a MIDI ring tone. It can just play multiple chords at once. An MP3 ringtone is an actual MP3 file. Lower bit rate and generally mono as opposed to the higher bit rate and stero MP3 you'd play on your computer or MP3 player. Both are computer files. One is a compressed audio file (MP3) the other is a musical instrument digital interface file. Meaning a computerized version of a ...

I really don't want to do this... but... Disgruntled CEO said: Sure, no one expects and perfectly accurate map. The more pertinent issue is why there is why do technicians get a different map than the consumers? Perhaps the tech map is... are you ready? ...
