The evoke is not intended to be a "smart phone" and compete vs. Blackberry or HTC (RIM / MS Windows OS) devices. The Motorola evoke is a social networking simple touch user interface phone. It does support basic POP3 / IMAP 4 email clients; but doesn't have corporate email functionality.

It was late; but not by 9 months.
The shipping SW is smooth and fluid.
The interface has been reviewed by multiple publications and the feedback has been very positive to the point of the UI almost being too user friendly.
The device is a winner and exceeds boundaries as a touch phone; it's not boring like the Samsung Delve.
Pales in comparison to the Motorola HINT
Motorola HINT is a similar form factor; but even more compelling and feature rich.
What a scam!
Isn't Kodiak PTT just doing a voice call and having the other party on mute? This doesn't even compare to iDEN, Sprint's Qchat or Verzion's up and coming High Performance PTT.
Anyone who pays $5/month for this should get their head examined. I would rather just dial the number instead of asking someone to "join a session".
I can't believe MetroPCS is actually asking their handset providers to support this. Maybe it is just Kyocera, ZTE and Huawei ...
