BTW, yeah, I've considered Sprint's two android offerings, both HTC. I might have ot go that route, but the Moment feels like a freaking brick, and I wasn't a big fan of trying to type on the Hero's software keyboard. We shall see.

What about Sprint

I'm totally sold on this phone, but I'm not sold on the fact that Verizon sees fit to charge around $30 more than Sprint for almost the exact same bundle. Right now, I pay $69/mo for 450 minutes with unlimited text & data. Oh and nights and weekends start at 7pm. Verizon is $99/mo for the same bundle, but since their "nights" start at 9pm (and weekends don't start till midnight Sat morning!), I'd probably have to pay ...

Which begs the question: Does HTC plan to release an Android 2.0 upgrade for this, or will we be stuck?

Re: i am the all knowing CENTRO-teric one...

What's the deal with their pseudo-MMS, PictureMail. It completely screws things up with services like Mosio, among others. Plus when I try to send pics to friends without web capable phones, they can't view 'em. Is there any way I can just send a normal MMS like every other phone company?

OTA Hotsync

in the Palm Centro 690 (CDMA) forum

Has anyone gotten the Centro to hotsync over the air on sprint's network? I checked "network" on the Hotsync on my desktop, I've got 14237 & 14238 tcp/udp open in our firewall, and I've told the palm to do a network hotsync, but it ain't happening. Is Sprint maybe blocking this? Did I not open the right ports? Actually, is there any way to verify the ports really are getting through?

Along the same lines of the GPS question (and expecting the same answer), can you play Pandora through the FM transmitter?

Calendar Sync?

in the LG VX-8550 Chocolate forum

I know I must be in the minority, but now that it's time for a new phone, the one feature I really want is a good calendar. Does the Chocolate (or any other non-PDA phone) have any way to sync the calendar with a PC (or Google Calendar)? Of course, I recognize I could just get a Treo or Crackberry or other PDA phone, but I don't do a ton of text messaging and I don't particularly WANT e-mails ...

So, Spork, what's the story? You find an answer? I'm all about modding my phone... once I get it. You still spend your summers at CBF?

Pick a personalized # (314 area code)
Feb 18, 2005, 1:16 PM
in the AT&T forum

I'm a big dork and I want to pick my own phone number, so I can have it spell something meaningful and memorable. I tried to call and get a listing of 314 prefixes (the first three digits) so I could come up with some options before I go to buy the phone, but the people I speak to say they don't have a list or that I can't pick my own number at all. Does anyone ...
