CCingular is probably going to carry this phone. I work for them and the word on a conference call is that will carry it by Q1 of 2005 because it is a launch phone for Blackberry Connect.

Go to the Sony Ericsson Website. They have it updated with the most recent settings.

Re: What's the difference between 910, 910a and 910i?

The big deal between i and a is the bands. Both are tri-band. The i is 900/1850/1900 (1 US Band) and the a is (850/1850/1900) (2 US Bands). Ones sent back to be updated are for users who don't know how to update their phone with the newest firmware (available for free from Sony Ericsson). If not then something happened to their phone. Word of advice.. if you're looking to use this with Blackberry ...

Don't bauch at the price. Those of us that paid $750-800+ get mad when you complain about paying $400-450. This phone is worth every penny.

Yeah, the p910i only has 1 band of the 2 you probably need in Israeli. I would ask around about someone switching in the US who has a p910i perhaps on Cingular. Cingular uses 2 of the 3 bands you have on the "a" version while t-mobile uses 1900 which is on most world phones. I have found this phone to be one of the best around for reception.

I used it while I was in school. Don't use it to record stuff. The full keypad did give me the ability to take decent notes. and an opera browser gave me the ability to get full web page when class got boring.

True, that was a contract but Nokia has dropped the contract because Cingular is launching the Nokia 6102 which is a flip phone which then dropped the candy bar only contract with Cingular. Good Q and Cingular is carrying this phone. Look for this to follow 1 to 2 more version of the razr. Not kidding, adding edge and then adding video and edge. Expect a new razr or razr like phone to run on ...

Well Cingular is based out of Atlanta so I'd say go that route. They just ran a rest run on Jan 3rd of the new network which was ran in Atlanta. HSDPA probably won't be a factor for a few years but since you're in the backyard of the corporate testing field I'd say go that route.

I'll just end this rumor right now... I was just trying to put eveyrone who reads this to let out tears one more time. The s750 rumors are false. I've been anxiously waiting since I got my hands on one in November. I just see wifi as the only thing that this phone doesn't have. I hope you all enjoy this phone.

Funny we've been back ordered, but it's still in the system.

If it's anything like the razr we'll probably get at least 8-10. Unless you're in a huge market you should be fine.

New Info from Cingular and Sony
Feb 15, 2005, 8:27 PM
in the Sony Ericsson S710a forum

Sweet to hear about the release date. The price is right, there will probably be a $50 rebate because when I talked to a Sony rep at a launch party he said it would be $400 on a 2 yr. I could see it being 450. Cingular has a 100 day period where we are the only ones to carry this phone just like the razr. It makes sense since the 100 day period for ...

Re: S710a and BestBuy?
Feb 15, 2005, 8:16 PM
in the Sony Ericsson S710a forum

I used to work for best buy and had 3 "defective" phones in 6 months with my service plan. Yeah since Cingular won't insure them, through lockline insurance, this is the best way to ensure that your $400-600 investment will alway be covered... unless your best buy is like a lot and they try and deny everything. As long as the phone doesn't have a water spot on it try getting it wet then drying it off, ...

I'd bet if you bitch enough they'll give it to you. Not at the store level but at customer service. If you say you're going to cancel if they don't and you're within your 30 days they'll usually break. The problem is at the store level the actually have those programs flagged and if they're active they can track them back to the reps.
