Re: Galaxy III vs RAZR MAXX HD (SIGNAL STRENGTH)
Nov 5, 2012, 8:22 AM
in the Verizon Wireless forum

I had the S3 and just changed over to the RAZR HD, not the MAXX.The S3 will show signal in my house but I could not carry a phone call. I loved everything else about the phone, but signal is most important. Camera is better on the S3. Everything else, I love my RAZR. The HD still has a 2500mA battery. I get almost two days out of it. Love the Moto smart actions. Form factor feels much more ...

Verizon dies require you to purchase equipment that they approve to be connected to their network...correct. However, they do not require you to purchase the phone from them, or it be new, or any other alternative. That being said, if they offset that much money when they sell the phone, yes they can set the rate terms. Even if those rates differ from previous terms. Btw love your responses to the other others in my argument. And what ...

You do realize that Verizon is subsidizing phones more now then ever before? You do know that your wireless carrier only "owes" you network coverage? Just like your cable company only owes you cable service, walmart only owes you to have products on their shelf for you to buy, your electric company only owes you power to your house...etc. Verizon spends more money for upkeep and building out their network so you can have the latest technology delievered ...

They have offered you two free replacement options. You are the one demanding something else. So they offer you 1yr pricing towards any new phone, and since your current contract is greater them 1yr your contract wouldn't be extended. Only NE2 would be extended. At this point the business has been more then reasonable. So if it is making you mad to the point you cannot see reason, then you are acting like a child. ...

I'm serious. I don't know why I keep coming back to PS because it doesn't matter what a carrier does, someone will have something to say. No one is just "Wow, VZW changed everything by being the first national carrier to roll out Unlimited calling plans nationwide." Instead you get, "yeah, but other carriers immediately did changes IN RESPONSE." Geeze...a hopeless forum. Ok, so the BEST network nationwide (all reporting agencies agree) comes ...

Blueninja is communist. So many consumers are turning that way. They do not want to have to read anything. They want the government to dictate selling price/terms/product/market...etc. Seems to me a communist way of government.

Why would I not take someone cheating a system personal? Heck, my STI and VARS depend upon profit. So your openly admitting to wanting to take up store time, company money, and reps aggrevation just to save you money...why would someone take that personal? I believe that part should have just been left out. Just simply ask: I want the Droid but am not eligible. I have a Tour. What is my best and ...

Droid = 199.99 w/2yr contract Monthly service 30.00 bucks for UNLIMITED (not 5gb) data and email 44.99 is IF it can sync to corporate email. Tether is either 30 or 15 depending on the data plan and is 5gb (this is not even advertised as unlimited data). so if you tethered the phone as a modem and used the web/email it would be 59.99

Wow. Talk about "sticking it to the customer". Oh, and how about Verizon Wireless fighting to keep cell numbers from being in a registry. Where was ATT and Sprint at the forefront of this? Anyway, these fan boys want something to sip on. They chose this. I got tired of customers doing the Buy and Sell and costing the company a lot of money. I am all for lowering costs. I suppose we will just disagree then. I like my storm a lot. Once Skyfire is released for it I will say I love the phone. Can't say I wouldn't like the iPhone either. If you had attacked the Storm's native broswer for a negative...then I would agree with you. Attacking the messaging though? Messaging is so fast.

You kidding?!?! I can pound out messages faster on my Storm then I can an iPhone. The messaging is the best part of the phone. The new BBM is awesome. I thought of the phone as trash with the first software, decent with the next release, and now very good. I would say awesome if it came with a native browser that was faster. I can load pages in opera mini in milliseconds. ...

Dude, you should really try the Storm with 5.0 Had it for two weeks now. Super fast. The only downfall is web browsing. But I use opera mini and bolt for that anyway. 5.0 is rocking man.

LOL. Ok. I have now sold in 2 areas and in both markets the 3g coverage for Att was horrible compared to VZW. Just had a customer who works at a local shop. ETF on smartphones being higher makes sense. An ETF is to offset the subsidy. I have already seen people stating to buy the phone on a new line, pay the 2yr price plus act fee plus disconnect and it comes out cheaper then paying full retail. Yes, VZW pays quite a chunk of money for every Droid/Storm/etc. This is purely to stop that practice.

Also, according to Verizon Wireless' own policies, we are not to be on message boards posting information as if a Verizon Wireless employee is stating the message. Anyway, just be careful. I lurk alot, but don't speak a lot. And when I do, I would prefer to have someone email me or contact me. That way I can keep it off a public forum.

Boost works fine in Gainesville? LOL. Ok. Your post just lost credibility. T-Mobile and Nextel have horrible coverage around Gainesville. I know...I have many customers that leave for the cheap boost unlimited plan and come back within a couple weeks because of poor coverage in gainesville. T-Mobile has the google phone...but again, same thing, people come right back quick for the coverage. Btw, the storm with .148 software is awesome. I love ...

Oh, my arguments are laughable? Ok...OP said that carriers should not dictate "exclusive" rights...carriers AND manufactures come to the agreement. Second, I would argue that the popularity of the iPhone has pressed other manufactures to produce as good a product due to the fact you have other carriers screaming for a phone to compete with. So, the exclusivity has helped pushed technology. I am against the government telling wireless how to operate their companies when ...

Ok...so Palm has no say so in their exclusive rights? So Palm cannot tell Sprint NO and then make the Pre for any CDMA network carrier? I am a believer that the market should and will dictate what happens. Too many laws and we become a socialist society just like Europe...get the government to dictate what technologies we use. Instead of letting the consumer and business decide. Again, you are arguing, though, that the manufacture has nothing to ...
