it made plenty of sense- i can use my phone anywhere i go (using my T-mobile Blackberry Z10 and Hotspot)
You just nailed it on the head when you said that you need a Hotspot. The reason I am still with verizon is because my phone just works. I want to make sure I can actually make calls and not have to worry about using a hotspot for anything. As I said internet speeds are secondary ...

When you purchase a phone you pay a down payment and finance the rest (hence $20/month). If you want another phone (upgrade) you need to pay off the financing (buy the rest of the phone). Once that is done, you pay another down payment and restart the financing.
That makes sense....So do I get the S4 with the bloatware or do I get the HTC One with no removable battery?
So.....
I am a little confused....What else is new...Right?
I am going this week to sign up with T-Mobile....Finally gonna get the HTC One, If I put down the $20 and pay the monthly fees with the newer system, If I decided to upgrade to something else? I mean does the cost of the phone just get added to the oerall payment until thats paid off? For instance I sign up and am paying whatever it is a month ...
Re: 4G LTE
Not really worried about my browser speed as much as I am call quality. I mean whats the bragging rights if your walking around saying "Hey I can't make any calls but it's okay cause my web browser can load my pages faster than yours"
That statement makes no sense

If people are interested in T-Mobile, buy are questionable about their coverage, either get a cheap phone, or borrow a T-Mobile phone from a friend or family member, as I did, and do a trial test drive.
I drove from Derby to West Hartford in Connecticut, T-Mobile has a strong signal, and good speed's.
Just waiting for the **S4** to come out and I will be enjoying HSPA 21/42!!!
Contract with Vzn is up 5/20, I'll port my ...
Galaxy S4
So I read a nice article about the Galaxy S4 and they were saying that for the 16GB version of the phone, most of the internal memory is taken up by more and more bloatware....Why do companies do that instead of releasing the phone with just the OS?
Re: Thinking of switching
so what does this all mean in laymens terms? how does their lte compare to verizon's current technology? how does it compare to well you already explained about sprint's.....Help a brother out!!
Re: 4G LTE
That site is closed for new registrations...Thx anyways

yes, but they wont tell anyone- they are going to be more aggressive now though.
Nowhere I can find this supposed schedule?
Re: HTC One
Yeah I figured that whatever carrier I end up with I have to start getting into the habit of using Wi-Fi especially where allot of carriers are doing away with Unlimited everything. Sprint works okay in my area, I'll have to see if they are decent enough to get a signal....

Okay already saw the phone. I mean whats the best of all evils in terms of carriers?
HTC One
While I do not want to switch to Sprint or T-Mobile for the HTC-One, I am on my way out of Verizon...Any chance this bad boy will ever see the light of day on the Big Red V?
4G LTE
is there a schedule as to when the 4G LTE will be added to more markets?
Thanks

I like Open Signal because you can see a carrier's towers.
I checked out both sites and I have to say it aint looking good for T-Mobile in my area. I loved the idea of no contract and the fact that you get Unlimited everything....Ah well maybe ATT is better
Signal Strength
Hey all
I just wanted to chime in and ask if there was anyone else in the Boston area with T-Mobile? I wanted to check before I leave Verizon. I did check the map on the website and it lists my location as having dark green which is good I know but I wanted to hear from people that actually have it.
Thanks

I know, I've been researching T-Mobile for a few months now, I live in Connecticut, seems like most people in New England have Verizon, I use my phone a lot for GPS, I'm very questionable about T-Mobile's coverage.
Me too Jay. I live in Boston well the suburbs of Boston and have been toying with switching to T-Mobile. You know me the guy who is so indecisive about upgrading. I think the S4 or the ...

I've had people do them over the phone with the AOL team, which I thought was the only way and they keep it.
It's all good one way or the other. I mean you cant call customer service and ask to speak with the AOL team to tell them "hey I've had my service ex number of years and want to keep it"
Re: Want to upgrade but still have unltd data
Thx for the information. Unfortunately I am not in that situation otherwise I could keep my unlimited data as well. Ah well. The next best thing to look at is how much data I use and based off that decide what to get when I upgrade.

Epik,
I fully respect your position on this forum, but you are incorrect about AOL's pertaining to unlimited data. You might want to double check. You are able to keep the unlimited data feature if you do an AOL. (As of this post)
What's an AOL?
Re: Time to switch

a lot of people like you are feeling that way.
Read the fine print....You have 2 choices when getting a new phone with the new T-Mobile non contract plans...You buy the phone outright/or you choose a phone and basically pay the phone off $20 a month in addition to your regular bill...I still think it's a better deal, your still getting unlimited data...I just hope that T-Mobile service is good in my area. According to their coverage map ...

Once the Galaxy S4 comes out, you can switch to T-Mobile and get nation wide unlimited 4g data, pay way less every month and not even sign a contract!
Thats what I am going to do. I don't want to deal with this anymore. I like having the option of Unlimited Data considering I stream music to my phone in my car, in the shower, in my house.

We have been over this with you time and time again. You can't sign a new contract and keep unlimited data on that line. There is a thread with plenty of work arounds and lord knows you've asked enough times.
give it a rest, will ya?
Huh Funny M8......Someone made me think it was possible to do so...I know you can't and frankly I can't afford any of these "work-arounds"....I may be leaving Verizon Wireles

No one is "grandfathered" anymore. You keep unlimited data until you buy a phone with a contract. Then you have to change.
If you buy a full retail phone or buy a phone from eBay you can activate it and keep unlimited data.......for now.
Below Me....Thats what I thought. I was gonna say if there was another way around it that I wasn't aware of I'd like to know!!

By KEEPING it on the account BEFORE Verizon murdered unlimited data,. . .you must be new on Verizon.
As of today, I've been with Verizon 3yrs.
No I've been with Verizon for 4+ years but I am being told on a daily basis that if/when I decide to upgrade I'll lose it. Yet your telling me I can keep it. How is that possible?

Your not grandfathered in with unlimited data? Tough life.
How do you get grandfathered in to Unlimited Data?
Re: Unlimited cellular data is unsustainable
So essentially what he suggested to me to keep my Unlimited data was more of a work-around than a solution...?

Likely 6-8wks from now.
Most of the world will be getting it last week of April or the first week of May. But if my memory serves me right Verizon was a little late launching the S3,...so who knows.
I decided last night that whether I like it or not I have to bite the bullet and upgrade my phone. The Droid X has served me well in the past but it's out of date and the phone has ...
Galaxy S4 Release
Does anyone know around when this phone will be released?
Re: Grandfathered Unlimited Data
I guess your right. I can always dump unlimited data once and for all, I can use Wi/Fi at home as well. I do like to stream music from my phone to my car but I guess that'll have to take a back seat to listening to CD's or something else. Can I switch my regular plan to pre-paid since I am having issues paying my bill?

I know right full retail who can afford that 600 plus bills for a phone is retarded, I will be signing a new contract and losing unlimited data with the new G'zOne Commando update comes out.
Are you being sarcastic?
Re: Grandfathered Unlimited Data
Great Idea. Unfortunately when your not working fulltime you really can't afford full retail and with ebay you don't know when your getting
Samsung Galaxy III
So is Samsung Galaxy III still the phone to beat on Verizon? I know the Galaxy IV is going to be announced but right now the Galaxy III is the best out right now right?
Re: Grandfathered Unlimited Data
The only real issue is that I am the only one that has a line...Sadly no family plans that that will work on. Such is life

Re: Grandfathered Unlimited Data
Which sucks....I am a quandary...I'm a longtime Verizon customer that's very happy with his service. I like the fact that they have 4G where I live and very much want to upgrade to a new device. But I use alot of data streaming music and what not and don't want to get a share plan and have to worry going over my data allowance. At the same time I can't afford to go out and buy ...
Grandfathered Unlimited Data
Okay so what is the true story? Can you or can't you be grandfathered into Unlimited data as long as you sign a 2 year deal? I was told by a Costco person selling Verizon phones that you can....I need the real story
Thanks

Not to come off like a jerk...But there are some people that cannot afford $400 for a new phone just to keep unlimited data...There are some people that can and for that I say great. I myself if I had the money $400+ to purchase a new phone outright, would something else to do with the money say ...
