Re: That makes NO SENSE!!
Uhm, I'm not even a huge fan of Obama but even I know he has raised the debt far, far, far less than Bush did with his unfounded war spending.
Anyway, this is a discussion about phone companies, not political theories, we should probably end this discussion here.
Re: Homeless people rejoyce
Well, there ya go... I'm no fan of partisanship but it is a well known fact Obama has clearly lowered the deficit itself. You, sir, have no interest in reality and only like to whine and create argument so no one really cares what your opinion is...
The fact is Sprint was very late to the LTE game after going with WiMax and indeed created their own hole... No one said they expected to be fully up and running and ...
Price point...
Not a bad device at all, but it will have to wait it turn until the SIII goes EOL/OOS... At the same exact price point on Verizon, the SIII is the better choice as Samsung is simply the known commodity and also has ICS already as well.
Sprint getting Omnia II as well?
I could have sworn I saw rumors Sprint will get it too? Anyway, sounds like it wil go head to head with Touch Pro II... I got to play with a TPII a bit and it was nice!
Re: This great!
Sprint's phone selection and customer service are both improving dramatically, they have great rate plans too compared to the other big 2 and are worth checking out...
Anyway, going by model numbers this is essentially a Rant 2... Good to see an already decent phone updated so soon!
But does it have quarter-second PTT setup time?
Nope, more like 5 seconds to initiate a PTT call. "Look out! That crance is falling on your head!" Oops, too late...
Serious PTT users will always have Nextel for real, fast PTT. Even the Sprint Qchat phones are sub 1 second setup time.
Re: Nice Phone.
Honestly, Rev A is primarily an increase in UP speeds so Instinct users won't really be affected. A non-issue, so to speak.
Basically a refresh...
No new real features but the design looks more modern and the new open prgramming deal with all Sprint phones going forward is definately a good thing!
Re: Any one know
FAST is what it is! Speediest WinMo phone ever. See the other reply, 528Mhz.
Re: Poor Sprint.... Desperate much??
Well the network is actually very good and customer service and billing issues have declined DRAMATICALLY. Once people try the service and see how good it is for a much better deal than VZW or ATT then many of these customers will stay. Not a bad way to rebuild your customer base when you are confident your major issues are behind you, which they are.
Re: NOT BAD
It's Sprint as a company, yes, but it's on Nextel network.
Re: NOT BAD
Simply not true. This is through the end of MARCH.
Re: It's not good unless it's GSM, that phone is sick, people love it!
"It's not good unless it's GSM..."
what kind of statemnet is that other than being a silly troll?
Try something like:
Title: This phone is sick!
Body: People love this thing, I just want a GSM version!
Then you wouldn't look like a complete idiot...
Re: $50 unlimited Nextel please!
Boost unlimited is a geat deal! Only reason not to go for it would be if you would have a hard time keeping $50 on your account at the START of the billing cycle.
Launching 2/15 now...
Pretty much official, a little birdy told me that every Sprint employee received an e-mail today that states this specifically.
I am guessing this was done because of inventory levels that aren't there yet and a big training push to get employees up to speed on it.
Re: Is it just me or...
Actually Sprint fully intended to launch it this weekend but with inventory arriving slow and a big training push underway they pushed to 2/15.
Re: Stop gap for the Pre?
Hmmmm, as a tech the only major issue I see with the 800w is battery life (of course). But the 850 has much snappier performance in everyday use like opening apps, menu's etc. I'm pretty impressed. INSANE fingerprint magnet however. Too bad the fad in electronics these days is this gloss finish...
Re: Stop gap for the Pre?
No, at least one demo device made it to most Sprint stores and were told they can activate it as a demo device for the "advocate" employee. We are getting lots of required training on this as well so I don't see why it won't be around awhile. I can tell you first hand it is the "snappiest" of ANY WM 6/6.1 device released on Sprint at the least. It finally has the hardware to make WM 6.1 perform! ...
Re: Sure
Yep, ANY Nextel phone that takes a SIM you can get a Boost starter kit for $20 and you are set for $50 unlimited INCLUDING TAX. ONLY catch is you obviously have to have the $50 on your account at the beginning of every billing cycle. Amazing deal, Cricket really has no reason to exist anymore with their lousy coverage and 4x the dropped calls of Boost believe it or not.
Re: Why all the raving about call quality??
Having owned both phones they sound very similar although I feel Sanyo's earpiece's are a bit dull sounding compared to LG... Otherwise Sanyo quality is much better.
Re: This is a cop out
Yep, Larry.... all your posts have been on the money. Not carrier is perfect and it just goes to show how human nature is regarding negative experience. Sprint has had it's customer service problems but it is MUCH improved but people wouldn't know and continue to bash them out of old habit. Sprint has an excellent network overall and most people don't know they had only a 1.8% churn rate last quarter as all the WHINERS left already! :)
Going on sale very soon at Sprint...
They arrived yesterday and I believe they will be allowed to be sold starting Monday. The screen is small and low res though! A MAJOR drawback but at least you get 2 strips of changeable flashing LED's along the front... A total teenager phone that cares more about flash than substance.
Re: VZW Version When?
It technically would but Sprint and Verizon block each others serial numbers from working on each others networks, otherwise it would just need the PRL (tower list/frequency settings) of the other carrier put on the phone.
Launching on Sprint Nextel September 2nd
Ugly phone but remember it is specifically for construction workers to have push to talk. It's NOT a general consumer phone! There is a HUGE market for these in case you didn't know.
Re: is this a joke?
If you knew ANYTHING about iDEN phones you would know it is a construction worker rugged walkie-talkie phone... nothing more!
Re: NEW PHONES!!!
Yeah, dude, like EVERY carrier has coverage in EVERY location... Sprint's network is fine, you may either just be in a bad area or have a bad phone.
Re: More clarification on when it is free?
You have a data plan so it's free... period.
Re: So whats the actual price without the contract?
It's $449.99 but realize for that $75 off that includes a new contract.
Re: WAIT WAIT WAIT...
"smaller network coverage"? You are an idiot who knows nothing but spit out what you think is true because other people said it... Fact is Sprint has more coverage than Verizon... Also, Sprint doesn't need massive ports just to survive. Sure, stop losing customers is important but they don't have to gain tons back just to survive. Now go away because you obviously don't know anyting and have nothing useful to add to the conversation.
Re: The Future...
Yep, people don't realize Sprint's network really is just as good as Verizon's overall... it's just the CS that drags the overall perception, even of it's network, down...
Re: Well
It's 40% and it doesn't start until August... Brilliant move really.
Re: WiMax!
Yep... It's ridiculous how people can't give Sprint ANY credit even though they do a lot of things right. There is now a new push happening where store employees will be empowered to fix accounts and give credits when needed and not pushing customers to care to resolve. That and with the new unlimited plan and customer service improvements, Sprint can right itself pretty quickly. Dumb, stubborn fan-boys of other carriers aside, people will notice this quickly and have ...
Re: Not So Hot...
I would have to agree... however, not as an excuse, but most phones coming out now seems to fingerprint/smudge easily. If Sprint makes this a "free" phone, it could be pretty successful.
Re: Time to pay up!
Why would ANYONE give a royal, flying EFF what a company that they don't even do business with goes under or not? That's thousands and thousands of American jobs! Wouldn't you prefer Sprint get back on track (which they will, they have plenty of money and right CEO now) and keep your wireless bills down with it's competitive balance? Obviously these people are sheer morons for wishing this. No other explanation, really. You made your choice to switch companies ...
Re: Service Plan?
$15 will get you internet with some sprint TV and radio stations...
Re: THANK GOD!!!
Yes, Saleh will do well. From what I've heard he is more than competent. Forsee did have some forward technical vision but nothing else as far as leadership and making the company succeed. Pre-merger Sprint wasn't completely failing (as in losing money) just not keeping up with the competition at all and perhaps eventual "failure".
THANK GOD!!!
It's about time! Sure, he might have had some good ideas about the future of the company but he waited WAAAY too long to decide to take care of the current customers. Sprint has a good network, phone repair options and Wi-Max will be great. Now it's just time to take care of everything else!
Re: Market saturation
Point is, captain get-a-clue, is that coverage IS the issue! Sprint and Verizon have basically identical networks, verizon just happens to have better call centers for their whiners to call in to. If Sprint has poor indoor coverage, so would verizon if their tower was in the exact same place. You are just a biased troll, so off you go to verizon land and drink more of their kool aid while the rest of us keep it on subject. ...
Re: SPRINT V. COMPETITOR
HUH? It was Sprint who built their network from the ground-up unlike Verizon who just bought a bunch of smaller competitors. And yes they all have roaming agreements now but Sprint has the largest native coverage and free roaming in all their new plans... Just thought I'd correct you.
Re: Keeping it quiet
hehe.... you are a little over excited but it's the truth at least! :)
