If it was unlocked, then I could see someone paying that premium for it, especially if it was unlocked and didn't come directly from AT&T, maybe if purchased from the MFG (or an employee of the MFG) and had NONE of those little quirks in it that the MFG stipulate can't be disabled. For instance, I had an unlocked Sony Ericsson W300i about 9 months before Cingular did, and I could do EVERYTHING with it, including actually using my ...

Friend of a friend has one already and he lives in Dubai. Personally, I have had one here in the states for about a month now and I love it, but mine is a prototype and I will not say how I got it

Agreed, I had the W300i aboout 3 months before Cingular had it (about 2 weeks ago in best buy) and I now have the Z710i, I was a die-hard Nokia owner before, when I was working for Cingular. Back then, I swore to never own a Motorola, and at my current clip, it'll be a long time before I DON'T own a Sony Ericsson.

If Cingular is picking up the W800 and W300 as their walkman phones, then I would be willing to bet that, if anything of this model, they'd be getting the Z710i. I've been using it about a week and a half now, it does NOT have the pedometer like the others, but it does have a (non "walkman") MP3 player and all those other bells and whistles that people sell phones based upon. I got this phone for me and the W600 for my brother at the same time, got them both for less than the LEAST Cingular will charge you for just the W600 about 3 months ago. This will SURELY not replace the W600, which has a better camera onboard and better sounding speaker and sound through the headphones. The user interfaces are identical and the benefit of expandable memory (google a 1GB memory stick for the W300, they exist), ...

It would terribly suck if Verizon DID charge for that, I know that Cingular readily sets peoples expectations that they would be charged "send to end" on calls, which means that the person DIALING the call can be charged, even if the other person never answers. Don't get started in the techincal mumbo jumbo that would come if the person receiving the call was off-network and the call goes to VM, THEN they may see that call on their statement.

M2M - Most people I know have Cingular Rollover - I was in training for the job I took when I left Cingular as an employee for 6 weeks, so I have PLENTY of them, so I can easily afford to be on a 39.99 plan without blowing the cap. ... that will be about all

Problems can probably be solved internally, and by INTERNALLY, I mean in the call centers, then let that branch out from there. I thought I saw on a site a while back that T-Mobile would be carrying this phone, and that they were supposed to have had it a couple months ago, but it still ain't out. I worked this loophole I happen to have and I have been using it for about a week now, and I have my service through Cingular. Didn't get it FROM them though.

The thing, before I decided that my sanity was more important than working for Cingular 3 months ago, was that the turnaround time to expect a refund to be rendered to an account is 1-2 billing cycles. That is 30-60(ish) days. This time, as I understand it, is for the phone to come into the distribution center, wait to be checked in with thousands of other phones (did you think they were joking about the "51 million," thing? you aren't ...

I believe I talked to the "Lord of the Rings" customer when I was working there too, either that one or another one who was equally stupid. I couldn't do much more than laugh with these people in this position.

Think about what you're saying here. We understand that you're frustrated about locing your phone, but you also agreed that, should you need to file for insurance replacement, that you would pay a $50.00 deductible. I agreed, when I added insurance to my car, that if I needed to file a claim that there would be a $250.00 deductible. the beauty of the verbiage of the customers first promise was that it was "'A' free phone every year, and if you are not happy with the free phone being offered then other phones are available at 'currently available discount pricing'," meaning that there was never any statement that any customer got ABSOLUTELY what they wanted or even that EVERY phone would be free... ... if the customer signed verbally agreed to (1-year) or e-signatured (2-year) the contract, the contract ...

I humor them, I answer the questions they ask, all while I use the phone number from my display to find the account, I wait for them to hang up and then I call the home number listed on the account and ask to speak to the account holder, and ask them if they are aware of the whereabouts of their phone, as I was making a courtesy call to them to make them aware that someone, quite possibly ...

MMS renders itself (if only partially) through the GPRS portion of the phone, be sure that your phone is properly set up for this, lest your MMS/Data portions of the phone may not work right. Keep in mind that WHEN they DO work, you MIGHT be charged per-usage for this, ask what they might be before you fire off 5 million pictures of your package to some girl yo met on the internet

The entire organization known as T-Mobile has as many customers as about what is contained in the left hemisphere of my sac... Vodaphone may have more, but I know the english language and nothing about the UA/North American Carrier we call T-Mobile outsizes Cingular/ATTWS

What you fail to make notice of is that phones don't last forever and that you are not special to the phone's manufacturer... In no way was is promised that you would receive an identical brand new replacement for the phone that you had... "Closest like replacement" was the verbiage used with insurance and the statement read to you may vary as according to what can be sent to you, again, VARYING according to what is available... Customer's INVENTED the fountain of stupid: "I have been a customer for 9 months, and I chose the local plan, thinking that I would be within the home calling areal nbut my sister's boyfriend's cousin's sane sex domestic partner's dog died and we had to drive from california to Mississppi for the creekside service, I was not aware that roaming was 0.69/minute, plus klong distance, can you credit me that? A complaint I never hear as a business end user care rep, they still bitch about forfeiting 700 minutes for the simple benefit of rollover, but I have the advantage of being able to offer BLUE GSM to a business customer, compared to the consumer sucktomers (misspelling on purpose) who aren't left with a choice
