Customer ordering a T-mobile phone. We're delivering it to his work address. Our Verifications Team (chortling) asks me to confirm the business name (We always have to do this for business deliveries.) Guess... oh guess where he works. . . . AT&T I about laughed myself silly.

Yeah, this has been coming for a LONG time, we knew it was happening. The buyout actually happened some time ago but we just finished re-branding and started converting SunCom customer so our service. It gives us coverage in the Carolinas mostly as well as a few other places. We just launched the telesales end of it today and I can say I am absolutely NOT thrilled.

It wasn't so much a horrible thing he said to me it was just inane. "You're only doing this because my mom's hispanic and I have a white last name." I don't remeber what the name was, he was trying to use his mom's credit card and putting his name on the order. I'm in a call center, it was a CHAT, I couldn't see him or his mom.

It's honestly stupider than that. I work in a Call Center. I don't work that shift as it is! But they won't let me take a 22 hour schedule, they want 30 or more... there area bunch of us they are just letting go rather than work with... like half the staff here are students of one flavor or another. Until this fall they had always been outstanding about working with school schedules, now they blow.

Pretty much. She really made me mad and I ended up noting her order that she was NOT to be credited shipping. She was advised of the timeline REPEATEDLY and I got really sick of her abuse. I never loose my temper like that but she really got under my skin.

Oh no, refusing shipment is much worse than accepting the package and sending it back. You see we have return shipping labels in every package because our return center is different from the place the package ships OUT from. If a customer refuses shipment the package will first sit at UPS for 3 days then go back to the Texas location where it may sit for up to a week before they slow-boat ship it to the Georgia center... ...

Have no fear, I did. That's a bit of a behind the scenes thing for us, mostly we are supposed to just say "OK, sure" to the customer while we type to our fraurd team.

We're encouraged to have personality, it makes the customer happier when we have some pizzaz and are friendly and stuff... it's honestly what I expect from customer care too so I'm always really disappointed on the rare occasions when I get a bad rep.
