re: and only slightl better?
:o Just a slightly better version of the One X+? Slightly longer batter (2300 vs 2100) and better screen (but still not OLED) and processor. Did I miss anything?
And why going backwards with the names- shouldn't this have been the HTC TWO 8)

Any one know if 4.2 fixes the horrible sound quality of phone calls via Bluetooth that came with 4.1?

Really???
Re: this will surely be a hit.
But it also makes them a lot more usable lol- I have yet to find a softkeyboard that works well for a heavy texter and we're finding more and more of our customers and suppliers want to do text messaging esp w/the advent of Long Codes. It's pretty unbelievable that no one is really making any new phones w/a physical kbd- esp for Android. Once RIM is gone- there's going to be a big hole here.

re: Radios shut off on their own / doesn't work on Airrave
/;|
Had this phone now about 48 hours and both the 3G data and wi-fi shut off on their own. Have changed wi-fi polity to "sleep never" and turned off all batter and data managers as well. In another bad sign, the greatest use of my battery is "cell standby" even though I have an airrave in my house! Looks like moto's got some bugs to work out here
Re: won't roam on Verizon from Spring?
Many times
It clearly just doesn't work- overall the Sprint Radio reception is better than every other Sprint phone I've had, and so maybe it just hangs on to the Sprint signal when other wouldn't but I've side by side tested it in areas where I know the Sprint signal is poor and, for example, my old HTC EVO Shift would switch to Verizon's network and the Photon won't.
Re: Ultra vs. Standard?
What did you mean when you said, ". Also im sure that the Transform Ultra will take the step into the 4G era.."
I don't see any 4G on this phone??
Re: won't roam on Verizon from Spring?
**Title- Meant "Sprint"
won't roam on Verizon from Spring?
Had this phone now for about 3 weeks- coming off HTC Evo Shift. Wanted bigger screen, etc.
I've noticed though, that this phone doesn't seem to want to roam onto Verizon's network from Sprint. I dive an area in LA called "Beverly Glen" (for those of you who aren't familiar) 2x/day back and forth from work. Sprint's coverage in the middle of the canyon there is particularly bad and on my HTC Shift, the little roaming triangle would come up ...
re: Phone crashes on Call Waiting
:(
Love this phone but have discovered a serious problem: If I'm on a call and get a call-wait and do not answer the call-wait, the phone crashes and I lose both calls (the active one and the call-wait). Very disturbing.
Re: Open Programs- Program manager
Thanks- I had seen that. It's not quite a "program manager" pre se- it's really a "services" manager and 'services' are interlinked so it's hard to tell what's what, but I guess other than a Task Killer, that's all there is.

Re: Open Programs- Program manager
Interesting article. But the Shift seems to be missing the "program manager" that I had seen on the Evo, Epic and Transform. I can't find it on the list of Apps- did I miss something?

re: no LTE?
Thanks Rich- makes sense. Sort-of. I have lot of friends who have taken the compromise of the larger sized phones (e.g. Epic 4G) to get the 4G speed. It's just IMHO, but I think that would have made it even more distinctive for VZW. And since so many people are unhappy with AT&T's service, I'll bet they would have given it a try even at the larger size lol! And VZW would have not had to worry as ...
re: no LTE?
:(
After waiting all this time, and given that a new radio had to be fitted into this phone, how could verizon not insist on having the LTE frequencies included in this version?
Re: Speakerphone location
It is precisely because I don't want to hold the phone up to my ear that I hold it in my hand for long conversations. Putting it on the desk just makes it worse: now the desk is covering the speakerphone! If I turn the phone over, then the mic is now covered by the desk! Whether I'm walking, sitting at my desk or whatever, holding it my hand and use it "walkie talkie" style is what I'm talking ...
Speakerphone?
I've been testing the Epic and one bid issue I've had with it is that Samsung placed the Speaker on the bottom of the phone such that when you're holding the phone in your hand and you try to use the speaker- it's useless cuz you're covering it up! Looks like the same issue here. How lame.
Reminds me of Moto doing that w/some of the Razors. The Zio doesn't have that problem nor to many other brands. ...
LED flashng and notification tones
I have the "flash continuously" box checked off but the red LED doesn't seem to flash continuously for unread messages once he screen goes to sleep. If I press the pwr button to wake up the device the the LED starts flashing again but that defeats the purpose.
Also, any way to get different notification tones for different events lie SMS vs Email vs Calendar?
Thanks

re: Call Waiting
I'm having trouble using Call Waiting on Sprint w/this phone. I get the second calls and can "swap " between them but let's say I want to drop one of the calls. There's no way to do that. I have tried it and if you press "end call" *both* calls drop. So I then just switched calls to talk w/the person I wanted to talk with and told the other person to hang up. Well the stupid phone kept ...
Half Duplex Speaker phone?
I always likes Sanyo's phones when Sprint carried these years ago, but the "half duplex speakerphone" was a pain since both parties couldn't talk at the same time. This phone has the same half-duplex speakerphone- anyone tried this?

McCain Insane
It's amazing how much McCain has changed over the years. He used to fight for the little guy but his latest bill, which should really be called "The Government Internet Restriction and Campaign Contributors Confirmation Act of 2009", shows how he's totally lost touch with his original core values.
The FCC's goal is the exact opposite of what his bill is attempting to accomplish. The FCC's goal will be to prevent regulation of the Internet by the few large companies ...
Sprint?
Is Sprint going to get this??
Intial observations
Just got this. Had the Lotus for a while but it's software wasn't good. So I've noticed that sometimes the phone doesn't change back from horizontal to vertical mode and vice-versa. Also when in "power saving mode" the back light doesn't work at all. Otherwise, I like it.

Voice Command Set-up
I want to use the MS Voice Command app that came with my Ace. It came installed on the phone from Sprint, MS Voice Command v 1.6.19202.
This application is not mentioned at all in the user's manual but in the Help on the phone, it says one of the first steps is to assign the "Set the Voice Command Button" but doing, Start>More>Voice Command Setup."
But when I get to the "Voice Command" Icon on my phone, there is ...

I sent an email to LG and they wrote back and said "we don't make extended batteries."??
I'm wondering if there will be an OEM battery - or a extra charger where I could charge a spare battery.

6822 Rogers -> Cingular SMS and EMail
I purchased a 6682b from a former Rogers user. For email (Messages screen) all I see is "Text, MMS, Blackberry, Voice and Info" message- no "email" like it says in the manual (pg. 41). I'm wondering how to get this flashed back to the factory default or something that will work for the USA (Cingular). Or, does anyone know if the BB client on this device will work for Cingular?
On the SMS, one thing I find odd is that ...

Roaming Inficator
:o
I purchased on unlocked V635 and I was able to get all the Cingular setting to work just fine. However, the "roaming indicator" (solid triangle) is on constantly. The Networks the phone sees are Cingular 310-380 and 310-170, the phone is set to "automatic- I'm trying to figure out why the phone thinks it's roaming. I'm on Cingular in Los Angeles.
Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Nokia E62 Sync with Outlook
Can you be more specific on why you shouldn't sync calendar if using BB connect? BB connect simply supplies a Push email account- were you talking about BES here and not BIS?
Thanks,

Voice Dial limits?
I just received this phone and although I have almost 100 entries in my phonebook, I can't record more than 5 with a "voice name- after that is says "voice dial memory full- anyone else have this weird problem?
