Being someone who lives between Baltimore and DC, I'm excited to hear this. I'm not the biggest fan of the iPhone (but am an Apple fan in general), but the iPhone really allowed people to start embracing data and the web on their phones. If Sprint takes data speeds to the next level and the networks opens up so new devices can come on and access this network, I think Sprint could be in good shape. ...

Luckily since I'm with Tmobile, EDGE will be just fine for me. Looking forward to getting my N82 next week.

Just grabbed it from MacMall for $469. I wanted to get it from Buy.com because they had it for the same price, and I had a google checkout coupon which was $20 off of $100 or something like that - but that expired on April 6th. I waited too long. by the way, this is just for the silver, I haven't seen any black ones at the low price.

I just grabbed the silver one from MacMall. It's $469 right now. I wish I could get the black one, but I don't think it's available in the U.S. - or at least in the $400's

Using EDGE with unlocked 6170 and T-Mobile

Has anyone been using EDGE with this phone for T-mobile? I'll be getting the unlocked version again in the mail in a few days from Nokia (I broke my older one - long story I'll explain in a follow up user-review soon), and wanted to take advantage of the EDGE now being offered through T-mobile. But I was wondering if it was worth it, and what exactly's being done with it.

Ozymandias - You use this phone as a modem for your IPAQ and sony? How? I thought it was crippled. And I also thought that you could only do this with the Treo 650 and the hack. If that's the case, I'll buy this phone today. I have a sprint limited plan w/ vision as a secondary plan for back up. I really just want to start using it as a modem for my IPAQ ...

Hey decipher, doesn't the text messaging get annoying too? How the last message is always saved on the text message screen and you always have to clear it manually. The display is hard to read too, that's annoying. I like this phone a lot mainly because there's nothing else worth buying. But I still do intend to sell it once the 7270 price drops below $400 so I can get that one. When it comes to looks, ...

Actually, I have the chinese version of this phone, it's stil the bands you mentioned (900/1800/1900). So far, reception has been good - and should be. The only band I can use is the 1900 band because that's all Tmobile supports. So at that point, this phone should work just as good as any other phone. however, Cingular uses 850 and 1900. so if you want the best GSM coverage, you'd want to ...
