OP 5T notification light
I have had my OP 5T for a few weeks now and I really like it (coming from a Nexus 6p), but I wanted to clarify something on the notification light from the review.
With OxygenOS you can pick one of 8 colors for notifications and opt to turn on or off per app (e.g. you want SMS to flash, but not weather channel), but it is just one color. The review makes it sound like you can pick colors ...

I bought my Z3 Compact directly from Sony back in the Fall and I love it. I am using AT&T but I assume it would be just as good on T-Mobile.
As for no US carrier selling them...well, they all seem to be switching their business model away from subsidized phones, so it's not unreasonable to just buy the phone outright from the manufacturer or a company like Expansys.
An added bonus of doing it that way is an unlocked/unbranded phone ...
Vibrate- other user feedback?
The Phone Scoop reviewer gave the vibrate a so-so review with the caveat that he missed a few texts. Does anyone who owns this have anything to add?

I decided to get a Galaxy Nexus instead..sure it cost 3x as much and isn't LTE on at&t, but I wanted a shiny new toy. So far it is great, although a few apps do not work perfectly with it due to Ice Cream Sandwich being new.
I could finally retire my Nexus One and not go back to it after a week!

I worked with both the store and the business account tech support people and they independently verified my SIM was provisioned properly.
I have seen several reviews comparing the Skyrocket and Vivid and it seems that a majority are saying the Vivid is consistently getting better/faster connections when tested side by side, so I have to think that it is a hardware issue with the Skyrocket.

Looks like Engadget experienced some of the same issues in their test. Multiple hard resets and difficulty with SIM provisioning.
I'm thinking it is a design flaw :(

So did anybody else get this on release day and end up with major data issues?
I got the phone about 1pm and thankfully decided to eat lunch in the same plaza, as I realized the data was not connecting, despite showing 4/5 bars and "4G LTE" I went back to the store and explained the issue. I just tested at work (Silver Spring MD, about 3 miles from DC limit): 22 Down 13 up...BUT then at the same time, most websites won't load on the browser..MSN opened, but ESPN wouldn't. Neither facebook mobile or the app load at all. Went back to speed test app and got 15/15.
Seems like it connects for data for speedtest and not much else.
Tried Miren Browser and it works much better but Google maps and facebook app are clearly ...

I broke down and got one too- are you having any connection issues with the data? I went through 2 phones and 3 SIMs trying to get it to stay connected. A guy upgrading from the GSII to Skyrocket had the same issue.
Would connect to a site, super fast, but then next site may not load at all, or do the partial load where to progress bar stops mid-way.

Does anyone know if Samsung and/or at&t will allow you to actively chose which bands you want to use on this?
I have read that it will default to HSPA+ if LTE is not available but does that mean it is always searching for LTE (and thus burning a little battery) or would I be able to turn it to only use GSM bands?
Likewise- I get a stronger signal in my house on edge for whatever reason and force ...

my contract with at&t is up in September and just out of curiosity, I got a pre-paid t-mobile account and bought a used phone off a friend so I could test their network and see if it was worth considering a switch (regardless of the buy out stuff)...while in a lot of places I have tested it, t-mobile works well and is actually a little faster (less traffic on the network maybe?), over all the signal is a mess.

I did the update last night via SD (but yeah I saw reports from several posts that people could do it OTA) and it went ok, but not without a hitch.
My first reboot after loading the file locked up, but a simple battery pull resolved the issue.
After that it loaded normally (will be slow- stayed on the at&t "rethinking possibility" screen for several minutes) and so far everything works well.
I also have a Nexus One and the Blur-skinned version ...

I was really impressed by Symbian and after not touching a Nokia since 2004 I was really used to Symbian after a day or so.
Maybe it is just how my brain works, but I found it very intuitive.
I would definitely give it another shot when it gets the major revamp this fall.

To be totally honest, I am sort of found of the chaotic, different sized widgets..there is something about the asymmetry that catches my eye.
I dislike how iOS is just a bunch of tiles and really hate how webOS and BlackBerry waste so much screen space with a theme photo and only have a little launch bar at the bottom.

I apologize for asking if this is common knowledge to most people who post here, but how do they even know if you are tethering? Do they just assume "high volume=connected to a computer" or is there a way to tell?

Browsing on the N series
Hey- has anyone ever used a N series phone to browse the web? I have heard nothing but good things about these phones and I like Nokia products, but it just seems like it would be hard to surf without a QWERTY keypad. I used T9 for years for texts and I know it is pretty practical, but I still have my doubts. a 160 character text vs emailing all day via T9 are 2 different things.

So is the S730 ever going to make it to the market? I have been reading about this phone for it seems like a year now and so far it does not seem to exist.

SIM contacts
Do you guys know of a way to change the contacts menu to hide and/or push down the SIM contacts? When I had WM5 (i bought my 750 early) all of the SIM contacts were just at the end of the phone list and that was fine by me...but with WM6, they are intermixed with the phone's contacts. I hate that- it looks messy and very redundant.

I am not sure there is a way to do that with the Treo 750 as it uses WM Professional.. i think that line of icons across the top is only for WM for Smartphones.
That is how my old BlackJack's main screen looked.
I could be wrong, but I have not seen that as an option on WM5 or 6 for touchscreen devices
Browsing on the N95
I have seen nothing but positive reviews on the N95, but have yet to see anybody comment on the ease (or lack thereof) in browsing with just a standard keypad.
I would assume there is a very good "auto-complete" function when typing words, but still- I would like to get some feedback from actual users.
So anyone actually own this phone, or get to play with one long enough to comment on what it was like to surf the web? ...
Contact Format
Am I missing something on the menus? Whenever I add a new contact to my phone, it automatically files it on the contact list as Last Name, First. I have not been able to find a menu item that lists "file as" which I know exists on some versions of MS Mobile.
I can always rearrange the contact on my PC and then sync it back, but that seems like a redundant step.
So is there a menu option for ...
SMS automatically saving to SIM??
Tonight my phone started saving all incoming text messages to the SIM card. Is there any reason why it would do this? The memory was not full, and it is empty now anyway, and I did not change a single setting. This is very annoying for one, and I cannot find *any* setting to reverse this. I have gone through Samsung's FAQ, the owner's manual, and every possible setting and nothing hints at changing that feature.

PC Suite not working
Has anyone else had problems with using PC Suite? I downloaded the latest version, am using a genuine Samsung USB cable, and followed the directions to the letter, but the software does not seem to work.
It will read as "connected" on my PC, the phone will be charging, and the PC Suite will be open, but when I try to select the contact manager or file manager, it freezes up and gives an error message like "PC Suite is ...
Editing T9 dictionary
I obviously know how to add words to the T9 dictionary, but does anyone know of a way to edit it/remove words from it? I have searched the instructions up and down and cannot find a way to do that. I have some words that pop up as defaults and it really pisses me off (example- it wants to say '86' instead of 'to'). I hate having to scroll to get to the default word.

I do not know anyone with a 2GB MS ProDuo, so I never did find out if the phone can handle 2GB, so I stick with my 1GB and it works out just fine.

Hi- I was wondering if someone could tell me what the maximum memory possible on the p910 is. Sony's site says up to 1GB with MS Pro Duo, but I have seen some people say they used a 2GB without problem. Any info you could give me would be great. Thanks!

I am surprised your V600 still works, esp a Cingular model. My ATT V600 died after 2 months and I believe Cingular actually pulled their version off the market because of so many problems. I pretty much swore off Motos after all of that nonsense.

Phone not ringing or vibrating??
Does anyone else have this problem- every so often my phone simply does not ring or vibrate. I will pick it up and just check on a whim and see that multiple calls or text messages have come through while it was sitting in front of me, and I know it didn't ring.
