It will get lost faster than a blind sailor
Why would a kid make sure they had this. They like something they can play games on and see videos. Without that, this thing is going to get lost. There is no benefit to the kid.
Re: 18:9?
Must be LCD. Since most were 16:9
Micro USB seriously?
Last years Honor 8 was USB type C. Then brand new 7X is micro usb?
How about some consistency?
This sounds exactly like how LG have avoided the class action due to bootlooping. Supposedly in the documents inside the box when you bought your phone, there was a way to opt-out within a month. And if you didn't, that means you accepted their terms of arbitration.
Who reads that stuff, especially after you bought the phone and would be subject to a restocking fee?
Re: Breakthrough Potential
That's what I'd like to know. This isn't the same problem that would have been if AT&T bought T-Mobile.
No band 71 on this one
Maybe not a V30 variant then.
Re: No App Draw
Who says no app drawer? There is an app drawer. An update added that.
Empty promise
For the few that won't have bootlooped by then and be out of warranty.
Re: LeEco LePro3
I don't know about band 17, but with the Le S3 (the lower end of the two), it definitely does band 12, VoLTE, and T-Mobile WiFi calling out of the box.
Re: The problem with reviewing an LG phone
V10 had the same motherboard - mine died 10 months in. It's currently also affecting one the G4's on my account.
Not sure how anxious LG was to avoid the issue. They knew about it way before they released the V10, yet they didn't fix the manufacturing issue, and just released it anyway knowing that there was a good chance it would die.
Re: BYE BYE ASURION AND OTHER CELL PHONE INSURANCE COMPANIES...
Colossal ripoff.
If you break one per year, it's $200 for that first repair.
Re: Android 6.0 to 6.0.1
It went from 6.0.1 to 7.0
Re: Net Neutrality
If you're buying unlocked phones, switching is a piece of cake.
Re: Net Neutrality
Very simply. When Verizon takes away and another doesn't, that will cause some customers to switch. If enough leave, Verizon will give it back.
Re: Net Neutrality
It will make competition even better.
SD card support
Next update should include storing downloads to the SD card rather than internal storage
On Screen Buttons
They need to update the original one's software to include that option.
Re: Google Pixel
Way to start off with a flop
Re: Just a faster way to gobble up data
But this is also something other providers, at least T-Mobile, have been doing for at least a year. Just like "XLTE" is simply the same LTE that T-Mobile uses. When did Sprint Spark come out?
But it's like Apple. When they do it, it's thought of as new.
The headline should have been more like, "Verizon finally deploys carrier aggregation". Which everyone else has done for at least a year.
Re: If you can't beat them, copy the %@! out of them
Sprint has so much spectrum, they could give this away.
V10 is a nice phone, V20 could be even better
Snapdragon 820 with better battery life and we've got a winner.
Correction
I don't believe 480p is a fixed limit.
Exclusive again
Dumb.
$60 for a plastic watch band?

Permission to wipe?
When I tried to add my work exchange to my personal Nexus 7 last year, one of the permissions was that work could wipe my Nexus 7 via exchange. No thanks. But MS Outlook for Android doesn't do that, so that's what I use.
So it's really $500
Not an IOS phone user, but I initially thought good job Apple for producing a small premium phone. That is until I just read that you don't want the $400 phone. Now we're up to $500 and you're flirting with other flagship devices.
Re: FCC Violation?
Then you never read their press releases.
You can turn it on to be able to watch 3X as much video per unit of data. Or you can turn it off and watch 1/3 as much, just as before.
Re: FCC Violation?
And you can turn that service, which throttles all video, off. It's up to you.
Re: FCC Violation?
T-Mobile throttles video traffic if you want them to. You can opt not to do that
Re: FCC Violation?
Profound difference in what is going on when comparing T-Mobile and Verizon.
Verizon is exempting their own pay service. T-Mobile isn't doing that.
Re: HD calling
How did you manage that? Sprint doesn't have VoLTE yet. What do you mean by HD LTE?
Re: Let me get this right
No. Only if you flip a switch and go with the downgraded video quality. If you don't, there is no difference. Just like certain streaming services (music as well) allow you to choose a lower quality bitrate to save on your data.
Re: My only worry....
Keep in mind that this will be at 1/3 the data rate. So it could be a net savings on data depending on how many people decide to stream.
626 or 626s?
Though not eligible for discount since it's less than $200, I took a look at the Desire 626. T-Mobile sells the 626S which has reduced specs. However on the HTC website, the specs say that this phone is what the 626 has. If you select T-Mobile, are you getting a 626 or a 626S?
Re: Not True
T-Mobile does handoff to the mobile network from wifi. To the LTE mobile network that is.
AND not OR - big difference
"Sprint claims the 23GB threshold is far more than most customers ever use, and can be used to load 600 photos, stream 60 hours of music, or stream 50 hours of video. "
is wrong. Should be:
Sprint claims the 23GB threshold is far more than most customers ever use, and can be used to load 600 photos, stream 60 hours of music, AND stream 50 hours of video.
kludge
So it's not seamless. PITA.
Re: Follow the leader
I guess they could offer it if they were willing. But their rootmetrics scores would drop.
Follow the leader
This deal smokes the competition. Too bad no one else besides Sprint has the capacity to be able to offer this.
Come on T-Mobile
This would make a nice addition to their lineup.
