Forgive my ignorance but how do you find out which version your phone has? How do you get new version if your phone has the older version? I ordered this phone for my mom online from Verizon in mid December. So far she has no complaints but one time did mention that she thought her phone was on but when she went to use it is was off. Don't know if that was her (forgetful)or the phone.

The deception is that they DID NOT tell me I'd loss the ability to roam. They told me I'd still roam but wouldn't be charged for roaming. Maybe in some areas this may be true but in my case the ...

The Verizon rep misled me when I called to make the switch. She told me that I would still roam but would not be charged to do so.
I am in southern NJ. There are a few areas before that would roam. According to the new map they are now no coverage areas. I would prefer to have coverage and have to pay the extra then to have no service at all.

Ability to roam???
Under the new no roaming plan will my phone still have the ability to roam in an area it would roam before but I won’t get charged for the roaming? Or, under the new plan will it take away my ability to roam in that area and I won’t have any service?

Signal Strength Bars
Reading through different post I have noticed people complaining they don’t have as many bars showing as they did on other phones. That is because most phones show 5 bars for maximum. The Kyocera phones only show 4. Even with no bars showing I can make and receive calls in my house.

Yes, you can do this. Go into settings, silent mode then set it to vibrate then ring.

When I said page 56 & 57 that is if you are getting the phone through Verizon. If you are using another carrier just look under Using voice features with hands-free car kits.

As the first reply said, It works hands free with just the headset. A simple yes or no will answer the incoming call. When the other person hangs up it will also disconnect.
As for making a hands free call, the phone must also be hooked to the car charger. After speaking wake up and then repeating wake up, it will respond for you to say a name or say dial. It's very simple.

Zoom on mine works fine. Are you using the jog shuttle on the side of the phone to zoom in?

I'm not sure because I don't have this phone but I bought them for my daughters. I believe all you have to do is set your phone to driving mode (see page 99) and it should work with any headset.
Charger Jack?
I just purchased 2 of these phones for my family. They LOVE the phone. My concern is the charger and jack this phone has. Quite a few years back I had another brand with this same type of jack. After a period of time the plastic jack cover got worn out and lost. After more time because such a large area was exposed, the inside terminals got broken and you could no longer charge the phone.
