Nokia hates media
What does Nokia have against A2DP????
This is a feature I use daily. It's not just for media phones Nokia! Us business men enjoy not having to carry an iPod or other crap device with us on long trips.
Just another reason why I can't give Nokia my money.
Re: 8525 sync wth notes?
We use mNotes, you can google it.
Works EXTREMELY well for notes/domino.

Ok, now when will it hit stores?
Not to be ungrateful, but I can't order from customer care or web. I have a phone to return (E62) so that I can get this, and I'm getting close to my 30 days.
So I ask, any idea when the stores will see a shipment?

Re: Release Date - Clarification
Windows Mobile 5 is the interface that runs on top of CE 5. Windows CE has many more development areas other than Windows Mobile. Many embedded machining platforms run on CE.
The release of CE 6 is a big step toward WM 6, but we shouldn't confuse the 2. Windows Mobile 6 may still be many months away from final.

Key/Touchscreen Lock?
This looks like possibly the best PDA phone I could ever want... (for a couple months)
However, can anyone say if there is a hardware key/screen lock that would prevent battery drain while holstered or in pockets?
Thx

Re: Can we say T-Mobile???
That may be true now, but that is a very recent change. T-mobile used to stay away from 850 phones, unless they were quad-band.
Re: This is the CINGULAR 3125!!!!
Personally, I don't mind the memory cards being so internal. I don't change that often. I can certainly make do with a 2gb memory. Now, I know some people like to carry their entire 30 gb, cd collection with them, but I'm okay if I can just have a little variety, and can change it very easy by syncing different playlists.
Re: First post, woot!
Sort of upgraded. But with Bluetooth 1.1, A2DP and stereo bluetooth is out of the question...
I'm sure it will sell, but why have a media centric phone without stereo bluetooth?
Re: Cingular 2125 vs Orange SPV c600
I don't know anything about the Orange SPV c600, but I know that I want the Qtek 8310.
Everything that this phones has, minus edge - which is a bummer - but it does have wifi!

Re: DVD movies
I use Dr. Divx to make divx video files, along with TCPMP to play them on all of my windows devices
I can't say that TCPMP works on this particular phone, but I use it with all of my Pocket PCs and my SMT 5600

Re: Hi I would appreciate ANY help!!!
1st Pricing information is available at Cingular's site
the Retail price listed is the 2 yr. price.
Add 50 for 1 yr. price
Add 100 for no contract price.
2nd It uses media player 10. I think it is great. I prefer it far above itunes/ipod.
3rd. I know that 1gb cards work, and that is the largest I have seen readily available.
Re: Nokia E60
I have to say, yes
Re: New memory card
I'm thinking about getting a 6682, but I have a question first. Can I use any RS-MMC card? What do I have to look for in a RS-MMC card for it to work with 6682
Thanks

Does Verizon not like BT Dialup?
Since this isn't the first phone I've noticed without BT dial-up support, I have to ask the question. Is it just this phone, or does Verizon stray away from BT Dialup?
Thanks
Re: Not so thrilling 8O
If my understanding is correct the memory stick duo that the S710a uses will never expand beyond 128 mb.
That said, this phone has all the same important features (fm radio is silly to me), and possibly more memory. I don't like to carry multiple cards with me.
So, if it's price that concerns you, the s710a is a good phone at a good price. I think the W600 is better, but if it debuts at the same price ...
Nextel Bluetooth
Are they kidding? No Bluetooth? Even the i870 is going to have it. Windows mobile -- Good, features -- almost good.
But come on! Without bluetooth, I can't even compare this phone a monkeys bum
Phone is neat, but where is the Talk Time?
I like gadgets, I love phones, but why can't we get more talk time? I'd like to see a phone that can keep up with the power users with near unlimited plans.
I use 2000-2500 minutes a month, and I often find myself charging my phone every chance I get. Some phones are worse or better than others, but I still find myself charging frequently. Where is the 8 hour talk time???
Re: I'm tired of US getting the shaft.
Now there's a concept.
Motorola has done this on many models
SE is starting this with a couple,
Where is Nokia with the Quad-Band?
Or a better question...
Why can't the US use the world standard frequencies?
WCDMA phone are great, but will we ever see a QuandBand GSM with DualBand WCMDA? unlikely
I'm tired of US getting the shaft.
Why everyone gets the good phones first never ceases to amaze me. Why do the socialists need this kind of phone? Why not make sure the capitalists with lots of money and gadget envy get what they want?
Re: 6682 vs. Sony Ericsson S710a
1 GB is the RS-MMC - check out:
http://www.topram.com
I'm using a KingMax 1GB MMC in my 6620. although I have seen 2GB is std. MMC. I'm not willing to pay that much yet.
Re: Whats up with the screen?
2 reponses.
1. Do whatever they can to keep the phone small. the s710 is too darn big, and not very useful.
2. I don't want the camera anyway, so I will deffinitely keep the slider closed for that thing.
If I want a camera, I'll buy a camera...
Re: No 2.5mm jack?!
Here is a link to mod the headphones
http://www.stewartb.com/nokia-mod /
Also a company has produced a nice alternative to mod-ing your headsets
Search google for these words "Skullcandy, pop-port"
You'll find a few variations from Skullcandy. All seem good.
Re: the fcc approved the 6681right?
Odds are if the 6681 was approved, but not the 6682, that this phone will not be here until approved with the 6682 model.
There is no reason for Nokia to release the 6681 in the states. the 6682 has all of the american frequencies. Nokia would not confuse the market by releasing such similar phones in the same region.
Plus T-Mobile is looking a the 800/850 range also. So they may begin using more american band phones.

Re: 6682 vs. Sony Ericsson S710a
I would deffinitely wait. I have a 6620, and I would recommend that above the s710a. The s710a is the latest "gadget", but mostly fluff.
I really like the symbian os. You can do almost anything with it. So many great apps are available. Also, the s710a is limited to MemoryStick DUO, it can't use PRO, so you are very limited on memory. I have a 2gb mmc card for my 6620. No ...
Re: Bluetooth headphone dropped signal
This is unfortunately a know issue with the 650s Bluetooth implimentation.
My headset works great. Does your headset support Headset and Hand-free BT profiles?
The connection is not maintained, the 650 re-establishes connection when incoming or outgoing call is made. REALLY saves on battery life for the 650, and the headset
Re: cingular & treo 650
There are known issues with some headsets and the Treo 650.
For best compatibility, make sure your headset supports both the Headset profile AND the Hands-Free profile.
I have the SE HBH-660. Zero complaints
Re: ADD INSTANT MESSAGING TO YOUR TREO 650!
2 Great programs I've used for messaging
Causerie Messenger, Multiple Yahoo,MSN,Jabber,AIM,and ICQ Accounts
Also supports IMAP mail
http://www.mantragroup.com
and
Ve riChat, I've used it on PPC phones, and it works great. I prefer Causerie, but Verichat works very well also.

Dial-up networking has been disabled. There is a patch at
http://www.shadowmite.com
But I haven't been able to establish a connection using this patch.
Re: Treo 650 on PalmOne website with Cingular Service
The phonescoop info says that the 650 doesn't support MMS or picture messaging.
IS this true?
Re: the push email did it for me I WANT ONE >>
you can purchase the goodlink software for multiple pda-phone platforms.
Also, WM2003 already supports this feature with Exchange 2003.
Re: Feb.13 not talking shi$% or nothing but. as a customer service rep...
I recently purchased the p910a. Using on cingular, and I've never been happier with a phone. I was thinking about the treo 650, but palm and windows phones are typically loaded with bugs, and extra "features". Battery life on most pda phones is poor.
I'm using the p910, and it is a good testament to what SE can do. Very stable, great battery life. This makes the 3rd SE phone I've used.

Re: Discounts
Just because you are no longer an "AT&T" customer doesn't mean you have to change plans. My understanding is that these plans will continue to be used by blue-side customers. If you want new equipment or enw features, then you need to migrate to an orange-side plan.
Just because the name is going away doesn't mean that plans are.
Re: yoo does this have a touch screen
Why do you want to get rid of your p900? I have the similar p910, and I'm in love. I wouldn't trade this phone for free lifetime service.
Maybe a nice looking blonde, that loves me for my money, but not good at math. But other than that, I won't give up my p910.
Re: razr? hurt sales?
It's still a good phone, just because it doesn't have some features you like doesn't make it a bad phone.
1. I was able to take quite a lot of pictures before getting close to filling memory
2. I don't need to play mp3s from my phone
3. Cell phones can't compete with a real camera, I personally would be happier if camera's in phones went away.
I like the s710 for 3 reasons.
1. Bluetooth
2. EDGE
3. It ...
Re: razr? hurt sales?
I had this phone for a while before I quit my last job. I liked it. It was very stable, especially compared to other moto phones. Sure it doesn't have all the features, but it was very solidly built.
When you buy the razr, you're not buying features, it's kinda like buying an expensive suit. Cheaper suits may work just as well, and look nice, but its about being able to do it.
s710 or p910???
I've been looking that these 2 phones, and I just can't decide.
Should I get the p910a, which is available. Should I wait for the s710a which may be available any day.
Price is not an issue, I love wasting money either way.
Is the p910a a good enough PDA to justify tossing my Dell x50v? I'm used to both palm and CE based devices. How is the application support for the UIQ?
How is the data speed? Should ...

Re: Your Complaints?
Media Works plans and the like are supposed to be used to connect from the Phone ONLY. These plans are not designed for those of us who tether laptops and PDAs for internet access. I can tell you that my Nokia 6230 does get me EDGE speed from my laptop and PDA. You don't have full "internet" access. That is you don't have access to all internet services. http, https, ftp, smtp and pop3 have all worked. ...
Re: Ebay
I was the person bidding $710. I wrote the person selling the item to cancel my bid, or I would be an unpaying bidder. Next thing I knew, all bids were cancelled, and the phone did not reappear on eBay.

Re: Cingular Reps,Release Date.
My local Cingular store manager has recieved an internal Cingular memo stating that the phone has in fact been delayed. No details of the delay are in the memo. The memo states the phone will not be available before Jan 15, 2005.
These guys know their stuff, and I have seen the memo, I don't expect the phone this year.
