Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon service?
software for the phone? i'm totally confused...
Re: What do you think of VZW Customer Service?
I hate Verizon customer service. I once spent HOURS on the phone, trying to BUY a new phone, and I'm sure I spoke to literally 20 different people. Not only that, but everyone told me something different.
I was originally told that I could purchase a specific phone if I went into a Verizon store and switched to a higher plan for a month. I did it, called cust. service back, and they told me, oh no, you can't do ...
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Well, this is good to know. It sounds like it's just a matter of getting someone to start that process for me. Heh.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
oh, but see, it's not just a PICTURE.... it's an animation! and he's cute! and he does different things and... stuff! awww.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
No problem, I appreciate all the information.
Now, it says it will be denied access... meaning, a rep -could- technically GRANT access, right? Except they're not supposed to, I imagine. But yeah. Maybe it's just a matter of getting someone on the phone who's willing to put it through for me.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
I have heard something about, ah.... if you call Verizon enough times, you'll eventually get someone who either doesn't care and does the ESN change for you, or just someone who doesn't know what they're doing. That's kind of hit or miss.
Do you work for Verizon?
The one thing I hate about Verizon is that if you call them 5 times and ask the same question, you'll get 5 different answers. Heh. So many people seem to not know what ...
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
There's a cute little polar bear that roars at you, on the screen! :o
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Yeah, and see... I KNOW some people have activated Sprint phones on Verizon. But then I keep hearing that Verizon has a list of accepted ESNs. I can't seem to find out if there is anything special people have to do, for their ESN to be accepted.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Well... I don't think getting a manual from Sprint is going to help me program it with Verizon information though, right? It would at least tell me where to go in the settings to find what I need, though.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Heh, probably. I certainly WISH it was as easy as swapping a SIM card. But I like Verizon too much to switch. I used to be on T-Mobile, and I hated it.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Awesome. Thank you!
For manual programming -- do I get that information from Verizon? Like... are they going to know what I need, if I call up to ask them to walk me through manually programming my phone?
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
It would, but this phone doesn't have a SIM card, and Verizon doesn't use SIM cards.
What it comes down to is, I found a Sprint phone I really like, and I'm still under contract with Verizon -- although I'd stick with Verizon anyway, because I'm so happy with the amount of coverage I get.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Okay -- as for getting the manual programming options, is that something I can just call Verizon and ask for?
I have been told that for the first time, to get the PRL, I need to use *22801, rather than *228. It has something to do with the fact that the phone is going to look for a Sprint tower rather than a Verizon tower, at first. I donno.
Re: Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Yeah, its a CDMA.
My only concern with what you mentioned, is that I hear there is some sort of ESN list. Is Verizon going to accept the ESN I give them, even though its from a Sprint phone (whether I tell them that or not)?
Sanyo 8200 on Verizon?
Can anyone help me figure out how to get a Sanyo 8200 working on Verizon? From everything I've been reading, it sounds like it's really possible.
I haven't bought the phone yet -- I'm trying to find a cheap used one to start with, and I'm trying to get some information on how to go about this in the meantime.
I know that I need an MSL. Once I have that, what do I need to do? I realise that I ...
