called party cannot hear me

in the Apple iPhone SE (2016) forum

Calling with my SE frequently results in the called party unable to hear me. I switched carriers from ATT to Verizon and it didn't improve. Call strength is -112. I reviewed Verizon's website and found about 1-in-10 report the same issue. ATT's website was broken as usual so I couldn't see their reviews. My Verizon Samsung flip phone has no problem with calls.

Metro badly needs to expand. Between Bakersfield and Albuquerque there is -0- coverage. Get the simple stuff done, then build the smartphone coverage.

One more thing, after unloading Cingular you can recoup some $$$ putting your phone(s) for sale on EBAY. What I don't know is whether or not Cingular would want that recently upgraded phone returned, but the other(s) are yours to do with as you please. If they want the phone back, they may want the SIM too, but others on this forum are better qualified to answer that than I am.

Screw Cingular. Tell them to take a hike and get yourself Verizon, but b4 you do, read on. BTW, I also have a Cingular family plan, but if they told me to take a hike, I'd be gone, to Verizon. Make sure they don't stick you with an ETF, bcuz they're dropping you....you are not dropping them. If Verizon isn't available, hopefully Alltel is an option. Either way, I'd recommend having the nu service up and running before porting ...

Nokia 6010 or 3120, if you can find one. Do NOT get a refurbished phone.

As a former Verizon user, I'd recommend them to anyone. I jumped to Cingular at a time when Verizon had a lousy phone selection, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back if Cingular took a dump in my area. If your fiancee' is using her Sprint service for more than just calls, then you better research this very carefully. In the long run though, I believe you'd be satisfied with Verizon.

Open a trouble ticket. Verizon repair should be willing to do that. Fyi> Cingular works great in Burlingame, although Verizon reputedly has the best Bay Area coverage.

Cingular won't be going out of business. SBC has plenty of cash til Cingular management can get their act together and make it a permanently profitable venture. Hopefully they'll see their employee's and customers as an asset instead of an expense. Still, Sigman has got to go cuz there are WAY to many complaints here & elsewhere. Not sure about BellSouth though. Hurricanes are going to set them back for awhile. Just the same, don't worry about the response ...

I agree. You have a network problem IMO, unless you experience this everywhere. If it was me, I'd keep the phone regardless, since 24 out of 25 is pretty good. You could do a lot worse changing phones. p.s. I own a 6102 too!!

Speedbump, it's time to look for another provider. Sounds like you are in a marginal area. Ask your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. who is best & try that service. Just remember that if you don't like your new provider, you'll need to return the equipment, packaging & everything before the trial period is over. In so many words or less, get what works best for you where you use it the most. Don't port until you find a provider you ...

Marcus, the day CWA becomes non-union will be the same quarter Verizon becomes the #1 company. Many of your union brethren would be so pi**ed off they'd jump ship, myself included. Cingular needs me more than I need them.

It wasn't GSM.....it was definitely GPS, probably for E911 purposes.

I had an older Kyocera-Qualcomm unit. Still, it wasn't compatible with the national rate plans as configured today. It has to do with GPS or GSM...can't remember which. I don't know when the change occured for Verizon's purpose, but thought the OP should know this so there are no surprises like I had.

I need to chime in here. I was also on a regional plan until last year. But when I went to upgrade to a national plan I was told my phone was incompatible, so I had to get a new phone. So be prepared as you may also have to change phones. It apparently has something to do with GPS capability.

I decided to post here instead of Howards place since more reps watch this site. My belt clip broke, so I went to get another. Although I was first in the waiting line, the store personnel were busy with other customers. Then things got interesting. The store manager and an obvious new hire trainee were helping the customers. I recognized neither person from 3 prior visits. Anyway, the customer the manager was helping was purchasing a two year plan ...

Re: Next/Sprint vs. Cingular - NorCal Area

NorCal is kinda broad for an answer. In San Mateo or Sac Metro area, Cingular is very good. If I didn't have Cingular, I'd go back to Verizon. As for freeway travel and cutoffs, I rarely talk long enuf to find out if the call will drop. Yacking on a phone while driving is something I don't prefer to do, so I keep it short. As for DC, I haven't been there in 3 years, but our former Verizon ...

The Nokia 6010 is a good basic phone with very good reception. I have both the 6010 and 3120, and our 6010 sounds better to us. The negatives are no speakerphone and no int'l roaming.

I don't understand all the hoopla over an LG handset. Everyone I know who has had one never got another one. Have they improved something? Do the batteries really standby over 24hrs now? Does the phone last the length of a 2-yr contract? Enlighten me please. No doubt something's improved, but what is it?

Re: NO MORE MIGRATION FEE
Jul 8, 2005, 6:57 PM
in the AT&T forum

Makes ya wonder how many customers 'migrated' to Verizon or others over a lousy $18. Totally bad PR to have had it to begin with for the AT&T customers, even if it was the norm. The AT&T customers should have automatically had their fee waived, especially if Cingular wanted to keep these customers. Cingular could have been innovative here, especially in tough times like today where $18 will cause most folks to look elsewhere, on any purchase. Lots of ...

I'm with Cingular bcuz of the phone selection. Granted if the service (connection) sucked I woulda been gone a long time ago, but the service is excellent where I use it. Customer service is at the opposite side of the scale but getting better. For one reason or another I have had to call CS every month since starting service 11-2004. Not everyone is getting this offer. Our mailer claimed to offer great plans, offered us a choice of two different phones for $20 apiece, and of course mentioned "an" activation fee for this privilege. The plans were the same one's everyone else gets, viewable online at Cingular.com per the mailer. The phones offered were an acceptable Nokia 3120; the other I wouldn't take for free. Great offer? Basically it's just a con to switch for dollars out of my pocket with ...

We've had TDMA since 2001, and GSM since 11-2004. Both work most everywhere we've used them, and continue to do so. I do take the TDMA deep into the Sierra's as it will grab an analog signal from the top of most mountains. GSM just won't work in these area's. When Cingular kills the TDMA, we'll get a Verizon tri-mode phone as a backup (if they've got Nokia's) or activate our old Verizon phone we had b4 going to ...

In so many words or less, use whatever carrier works best where you use it. Sprint & Cingular have 7PM nights, but service for any carrier may be questionable depending on where you are using it, let alone which phone(s) you are using. Myself, I have Cingular (Orange) and the former ATTWS TDMA. Before this I had Verizon, but when I needed a new phone I switched to Cingular which so far hasn't disappointed with coverage where I use ...

I too have a 6010, but haven't seen this message. Try pulling out the SIM for 30 seconds and putting it back in. If that doesn't help then go to a Cingular store and see if they'll give you a new SIM. Also, leave your phone off for awhile (2 hours), then turn it back on, wait a while longer (10 minutes), then hope for the best. I had a message on my 3120 that the 'SIM failed', however ...

Although I'm content with Cingular, my pat answer is: it depends where you live. My nephew lives in Tempe, AZ, and said Sprint is the best in his area. Some carriers just flat out work better in some areas than others.

I like Nokia's, always have. I'm not a clamshell lover, and if Nokia put out a clamshell phone I would probably avoid it. As for your quad-band desire I'd say don't bother unless you do some serious oversea's traveling, in which case I'd say the Moto would be preferential to the Nokia. First and foremost, I don't own a 6230 nor a Razr, but have owned products from both companies. To me, Moto used to be the best, but Nokia ...
