Now Available
As of today 7/2, the i580 is available on the Nextel web site. You can also check out the entire instruction book on the site as well. Some stores (at least where I am in CT) do not have the phone yet however I was told that they will be getting it any day now. But I just couldn't wait and ordered one off the site.

i830 wallpaper?
I have the i830 phone through Nextel and I love it except for the fact that I can't seem to download wallpaper. I can, but the only place that I can download them from is Nextel.com and all of the wallpapers that they have are too small for the i830 and they come out blurry or start to wrap around the screen. Could anyone help me with this? Perhaps suggest another place where I can download wallpapers from. I ...

Can anyone help me download wallpaper for my i830. I tryed to download from Nextel.com but the only wallpapers that they offer are too small for this phone so the picture comes out all distorted. Anyone know how to fix this or where else I can download wallpapers from?

Screw this phone. Lets just face it everybody, there is no such thing as the v620. Hahaha it was all a joke. Anyway. I'm bailing out, im going with the v180 because seriously folks, who really needs to take a crappy little tiny VGA picture or record a choppy 2 second movie on their cell phone???? What are you going to do with it. I'm tell you, it's all about style in a compact, lightweight design with PRACTICAL features!

I know how you feel. I have no idea what to do. I live in Connecticut and every Cingular store I've gone into or called has no idea about it. I've also called 1-866-Cingular and they didn't know either. I'm still gonna try and hold off to get the v620 but I'm loosing hope and no one seems to have any new information.

Personally I'm waiting for the v620. No idea on how much its going to cost but I called Cingular not too long ago and they said that it would be out in mid November, however on the v620 page of this site someone said December; so in any case, pretty soon.

Go with the V620, EDGE is good but not really used unless you do a lot of online stuff with your phone. Overall the v620 is better, better screen, cooler look, changable faceplates, alarms works when the phone is off, and all of the features of the v551.

Word on the street is that Cingular is comming out with some new plans on the 16th. I'm betting that they're going to be bigger and better for the merger. Also they are going to be rolling out a bunch of new phones. v551 is a def. but I'm betting/hoping that the v620 is going to be there too.

I'm going to go ahead and try to make a date. My guess is November 16th. Three reasons. One is that there is a lot of talk when I go into Cingular stores about the 16th being the technical aspects completion of the merger. Two, I talked to Cingular HQ not too long ago and they said that it would be out in November. And Three, the MPX is going to be made available to everyone through Cingular directly ...

I'm not sure about the color display, but with a little common sense, 262K is more that 65K so I would think the display on the v620 will look better. I talked to the guy at Cingular and he said that EDGE is very nice and that it is the state of the art technology. However EDGE is only going to be used if you hook up your computer to your cell phone for internet service, other than that ...

So...in any case...any word on when the v551 is coming. I called around to some Best Buys and they didn't have it, nor did they know anything about it. All of the Cingular stores keep saying that its coming. Anyone have any updates?
