I used 3g only marginally, since all my devices are 4g. I don't have a data sheet because I was never planning on having to be a field tech.

I get up there every few weeks. I have no issues with the EVO or the Overdrive unit on the strip in 4g mode. As a matter of fact, they are really strong. 7-8mbs down and 1-1.5 up is pretty much my experience.

They overstated the release date for the 69xx series by almost 3 quarters, that's close to 9 months of falling FAR behind the rest of the market. Though I do prefer the iPaq over my iPhone iAm sick of all the iLies about iRelease iDates. iDiots

Ok, as soon as I got mine (48 hours ago) I began to notice issues. 1) the thumb button seems to get stuck. not like it is visible or not, it seems it causes the menus to keep scrolling non-stop. simply hit the button, but it is annoying. 2) NO BATTERY LIFE Two hours after removing from the power cable, it is down to 90% battery. I plan on buying the extended life battery. Just lke the iPod. do nothing and ...

6915 vs 6925 vs 6945 differences?
Nov 15, 2006, 9:10 PM
in the HP iPAQ hw6920 / hw6925 / hw6915 / hw6945 forum

anyone know the differences? i would assume the xx15 and xx25 are locked for their respective providers and loaded with network/provider specific apps that would more than likely be useless to a pda user anyway. and the 6945 is the unlocked version i take it. breakdown: $409 to buy 6925 from cingy (maybe locked, whatever) $540 to buy a 6945 from online source (unlocked)

it is, but depending on whom you speak with they 50/50 tell you it is not available in 'your' area (yeah i live in ny and la, huge markets, how can they be available to me half the time?). it is $409 without the $40 unlimited dataplan (on top of a $50 voiceplan) and the rebate they give if you sign up to pay that $600/year for unlimited data is only $50 dropping it to $359. luckily the wifi ...

wait, cingy now has yet another option for gps? so the phone has native gps, and cingy has another, 2nd option? so convoluted, everyone talking in double-speak. that article makes it sound like i need to pay even more for use of the gps that is built in to the phone.

Ok, so cingular premiere has no clue, nor do the 800 number or store people. So I have to buy online. Ebay is never a good choice because something like this always comes very close to actual retail when you finally get a winning bid, and HP is still at $599. i am out of contract on Cingular, want another phone, and have been using other pda phones like the crapy htc product (hopelessly under powered and volatile memory issues). any ...

dead before US release? That means they are only going to sell in the UK, take the hit on US sales and hope a new product will fill the void? or did you mean to link THIS page http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm /WF25a/215348-64929-215381-314903-f92-1822489 .html Well, if this is the case, then let's make a wish-list guys! ok, let me go first: -wireless b/g/n -3mp camera -600mhz+ processor -longer battery life (10 days talk, 2 years standby  ) -improved speed dial -direct hotlink to the white house

Cingular is not the only game in town. If they hold up the process for whatever their reasons are from selling it in their stores so be it, BUT T-mobile could sell it as well as other carriers. Even HP could carry it on their website in the US. I bet there will be some press release stating high demand and low production, but that is bullsh!t I can smell from here. I said people could *argue* that there was more productivity, but I have never seen it actually proven. I mean, for the last 5 years, using PDAs and project managing teams for Cisco, IBM, Accenture, Peoplesoft, Yahoo and even in the entertainment industry. I have not seen a mark'd improvement at all in productivity, but rather increased emails that are written in shorthand, and then having to clarify that as well because even though you have pocket ...

People throw that BS at me all the time "more productivity" that is a lie, it means you are more accessable and less likely to be able to have a free moment to yourself. It also means you can look busy while checking your Myspace account  PDA compulsion/addiction is real. Yeah yeah yeah, everyone is crying that it is already out of date without even making the market, and to not get long contracts. So what is the alternative? What do you see happening? A new HP series using this as a bridge on the market the way Palm used the 650 Treo to placate people until the 700 was completed? No contract means you pay FULL retail on this phone, which makes no sense. :? Contract and a newer better ...

Extreme Radio interference
Nov 14, 2004, 4:05 AM
in the Palm Treo 600 (GSM) forum

I noted that my TV, all my stereos, and some other gear is succeptable to interference by the Treo600. I was watching some dvd's and the Rotel amps picked it up. Not the kind of thing I expect from a $5995 amp, but I noted that the Treo causes my monitors to wobble the image if it is sitting in the cradle or in close proximity to the computer. In the car I get noise as well. Leave a home radio ...

Truth be told, the CDMA Verizon version works much better and has newer internals (including camera) than the GSM version I bought from Palm directly. The Blackberry I find, draws many people on it looking more unique than the Treo, it looks gadgety and I have used both, I'd hated to pull it out and be labelled as a dork right away, but in some cases it may be the better tool than most. As for emails arriving late, I ...

blackberry was too darned clunky for me, the idea of carrying around that beast after having a kyocera 6035 really made no sense. so far the treo is more stable than the kyocera, but it also has a lot to do with what apps you put in. i hear waba, and sometimes booster are unstable on it, so i avoided those apps.

Did i mention MIDI ringtones, it takes a $30 app to use mp3 ringtones. I made my assistant record her voice telling me the client's name with a beep so I can recognize the caller without looking, now I have to get the simcard to use custom mp3 ringtones and re-record all of it, WTF?!? Kyocera did their homework, Palm just thinks because they are Palm we'll take it, well screw them!

 The Treo LACKS these obvious features. I have two of these phones, (less than two weeks old) so believe me when I say, I liked the Kyocera's better for the UI. They effectively took all the useful functions out of the Palm OS, gave us a camera, and left us with a cool, but troublesome phone. Prepare to re-learn the Palm OS. Many of your 4.0 apps will lock it up. Believe me I like bringout the phone and ...
