Re: So... this parallel that people draw between pro choice/life and the death penalty.
Looks like i misunderstood the question.
my bad.
Re: Sunday Sunday Sunday
Green is a straight baller, and Dalton is nothing to sneeze at.
They've got a good defense and a decent OLine.
I'm not sure about the LawFirm as an upgrade to Ced Benson. Thats the big question mark in my eyes. If Green-Ellis turns out to be a good aquisition i think they can get back to the playoffs.

Re: er..

I don't dig bible thumpers. I also don't like God Delusion thumpers.
Re: er..
intolerant on the atheist part, right?
Re: Accessorize, tell me more about trickle up economics
No, thats not the logic at all. There isn't a term for trickle up economics, i just kinda put that out there in hopes that you would infer what i meant.
Basically, instead of allowing the rich people to have more money and then creating jobs without increased demand, you put more money into the lower levels of the economy. Since the poor and middle class spend most of their income on goods and services, if they ...
Re: Sure dmeanr to say "Sure can"
Because its trickle up economics. Every $1 that is spent on food stamps turns into $2 of revenue growth.
"Liberal commentator Alan Colmes, in a Wall Street Journal op-ed piece Tuesday, cites the expansion as a key achievement of the Obama administration, as participants "only stay on it an average of nine months" and circulate $1.73 back into the economy for each food stamp dollar spent."

Re: the hypothetical consensus
Thats the atheists problem, not the blesser.
Thats why i will never stop saying Merry Christmas. If you get offended by an extremely common saying that is prevalent in America, then thats completely on you.
why would bless you
offend an atheist?
Re: Agreed
Is the price of one life another life?
Re: wasn't really

I don't really think you know, TBH
Re: you have to eliminate somebody to fix the problem
yep, and they probably should not live to make the rest of us safer.
Re: first of all
i dunno, you seem to have a tentative grasp on things that are legal and illegal...
I think that
eye for an eye is a little drastic though.
Pro
There are some things that you can do to your fellow man that revoke your right to life.
I hate that we get it wrong sometimes, and i hate that certain places over sentence people with the Penalty but in general i think that sometimes you have to eliminate somebody to fix the problem
Re: mentally unfit and mental illness
Should we put somebody with ADD into a mental hospital instead of in prison?
What about somebody with depression?
So if he killed someone he could get in then?
Only if he started to claim that he was going to kill himself after he got to prison.
Thats a slippery slope
there are a lot of mentally disturbed people who do terrible things. There is a fine line between finding somebody mentally unfit and finding somebody who has a mental illness.
Re: self infliction
so he gets a slap on the wrist or gets put into maximum security or whatever. But we shouldn't give into this guys demands to have a sex change just so he can feel better. Period. Since its not illegal, if he wants to kill himself he should go right ahead.
Let him die
it would be his choice.
are you against personal freedom?
Re: self infliction
yeah, seeing as you were wrong about the legality of suicide i'm gonna need you to back up your statements from here on.
Re: Cancer kills people, gender disorder doesn't
i posted something from wikipedia later in the thread that should prove you wrong. A quick google search about suicide being illegal in MA also proves me right
You're wrong. The basis of your argument is flawed.
know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.
from wiki:
Historically, various states listed the act of suicide as a felony, but these policies were sparsely enforced. In the late 1960s, eighteen U.S. states lacked laws against suicide.[13] By the late 1980s, thirty of the fifty states had no laws against suicide or suicide attempts but every state had laws declaring it to be felony to aid, advise or encourage another person to commit suicide.[14] By the early 1990s only two states still listed suicide as a crime, ...
Re: however
actually, suicide isn't illegal. So that part of your argument is invalid.
Cancer kills people, gender disorder doesn't.
unless s/he offs him/her self. which is perfectly within his rights.
so why should we pay for it?
