go to start-settings-phone and on the bottom there is a tab that says "Time Zones" uncheck it. Sometimes the network throws off your clock when it is supposed to set it to the right time.

YES, there is a program on the device called internet sharing. You can share your wireless internet connection either via Bluetooth, or wired (usb cable). Also there are tweaks out there so you can set your device as a WiFi hotspot! Just make sure you disable the proxy so you are less likely to get cuaght tethering while not having the tethering plan :D

go to start->settings->connections(bottom right tab) then Connections again (icon this time) advanced tab Select networks Then set both drop down boxes to "My Work Connection" By default "My Work Settings" should not attempt to connect to wireless data. Tap edit under the drop down box and go through all the settings and make sure its all empty and you should be good to go.

yes you can do this, i think you need to install schaps advanced config. When you open internet sharing and under pc connection (how it shares your phones data connection with your pc) there are 2 options, USB and Bluetooth. In schaps advanced config (google for it) under the data connections category theres a field called private interface for internet sharing. Change that from bluetooth to wlan and you'll be able to share your data connection via wifi (basicly ...

in the Nokia E71 / E71x forum

I've read on one blog that the E71-2 has trouble staying on 3G and HSDPA on AT&T in the US. Anyone here have a e71-2 and live in a 3g area with knowledge about this? please only At&T e71-2 users reply!

I remember reading something about an E90 and N82 with US3g about 2 weeks ago, either on engadget or bgr.. anyways, i can wait cuz its either that or the HTC TyTn II, but i'm kinda getting sick of windows mobile (been using it for like 5 years now and need a change)

take it to cingular, if they consider it accidental they will repair it for free. If not, they'll tell him its from user abuse and not covered under warranty and he'll have to pay. Your friend could also purchase a screen off ebay and install it himself, if he's not comfortable with doing that then have him check out www.pocketpctechs.com that will replace the screen.

i've owned both those devices before, the jam was my first windows mobile device and is a good looking device. the qtek 9100 (wizard) was my second and the added keyboard helps out a lot! i'm a heave texter so its a necessity for me now. the slow processor of the qtek is a downfall but theres an app to overclock it. i had mine overclocked to 410 if i remember correctly, also there are windows mobile 6 roms floating ...

don't know about the work contacts thing but to hide sim contacts get a registry editor (phm registry editor and total commander are free, google for them) and change the following: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone] "ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.

if your on the pda plan you don't need to worry about extra charges for being connected. I have an imate jasjam on cingular and i'm always connected and use it heavily! If your concerned about battery life then theres a way to have it stop reconnecting search for HtweakC on google and use that app. In its options just uncheck the option to keep the connection alive. also this should be filed in windows mobile for pocket pc because ...

I already have an Imate JasJam (same thing as the cingular 8525) so i'm gonna wait till this releases with cingular because my contract is over and i'll just get the discounted price rather than paying the full price for it. any speculations on the price yet?

Re: T-Mobile already does this... but less expensively
May 2, 2007, 8:12 AM
in the Article: Cingular Joins Unlimited Messaging Club forum

I used to be with t-mobile but switched to cingular when I heard they're going to launch 3g, Now i have a Imate Jasjam which is quad band UMTS and triband umts and I'm happy! When t-mobile launches their 3g i might switch back because their 900mhz frequency is better for internation triband phones which are 900,1800,1900 But what frequency is t-mobile going to use for their 3g? if its the same as the european one, kiss cingular good bye!

You are technically not supposed to use the MediaNet plans with a PDA but a lot do. I for one have an imate jasjam(exactly the same as the 8525 just with a front camera) and i'm on the MediaNet Unlimitted plan. My apn is wap.cingular.com and i've never been charged for any data use. If you switch your apn to isp.cingular.com then you WILL be charged per kb(if your on the medianet plan that is). I get amazing speeds ...

couldn't find where the Qtek9600 specs were written but its based off the HTC Hermes and all the other branded ones are Triband UMTS so i soppose the Qtek branded one will be. Plus Qtek products are gonna be sold under the name HTC in some regions and the HTC TYTN (http://europe.htc.com/products/tytn.php) is triband umts.

Yah, no 1900wcdma is a no deal for me. I'm gonna hold out till the HTC Hermes (aka htc tytn, qtek 9600, cht 9000) because it has triband umts, quadband gsm, wifi, WM5. I think it comes out on cingular in september october but i'll probably purchase the i-mate version.

but just to let you know, if you do buy the European N80, 3G won't work on it in the US because cingular uses wcdma 850 and wcdma 1900 for its 3G and in europe and other countries they use wcdma2100.

yes, that is the meaning of unlocked (not locked to a carrier) most phones are simple to unlock and if you don't know how to do it, there are websites that charge a couple of bucks for an unlock code. i just advise you this, if you are planning to use and int'l phone on cingular, find out whether the cingular in your area relies on 850 or 1900mhz. Cuz here in austin cingular runs heavily on 850mhz and ...

Re: Status

nope, european version supports WCDMA 2100, not 1900. US version supported wcdma 1900 but cingular wants it to support wcdma 1900 and wcdma 850 on the device.

Re: Status
Jun 10, 2006, 9:30 PM

I'm not buying the european unlocked version for 2 reasons but the main being it doesn't support wcdma 1900 which means no 3g with cingular. And if it does pass then the cingular 3g will introduce video conferencing so the is the only reason i want a wcdma 1900 phone in US. other than that, i'm fin with my imate k-jam. also if it doesn't pass i'm going for the imate jasjam with does support wcdma 1900 but we won't ...

Hoping is right. According to Dman51 "the phone was cancelled for cingular to do its high price and 3g networks." I also heard that since cingular rejected the device because it only supported WCDMA 1900 when cingular wanted it to support WCDMA 1900 and WCDMA 850. Only time will tell.

Yah, america is slow with getting phones, All my phones have been purchased from overseas and they were all head turners. But the N80 IS COMING TO CINGULAR... now all we have to do is wait. My brother just bought his overseas but the european version goes on a different frequency for UMTS so i'm waiting for it to come out on cingular so 3g will work. My 2 other brothers(big family) are planning on getting it as well ...

Everything will work except 3g(UMTS) so you won't be able to make video calls on the european version. My brother purchased one overseas and is using it with cingular, he can send/recieve texts and picture msgs. Voicemail alerts come up as they should(little voicemail symbol). Other than UMTS your fine.As for the settings, you can go to nokiausa.com and click on the n80 then theres a link for "Support for Owners" and it sends you the settings through a ...

ok, there is an app that does allow you to listen to music through bluetooth but its not that great and not stable at all. What you do need is fo ryour device to support A2DP which allows not only music to go through to a BT headset, but it allows it to go as stereo(2channel) so look and see if theres and A2DP update for your device and then go check out a pair of A2DP bluetooth headsets ...

Re: T-Mobile MDA vs Cingular 8125
May 22, 2006, 12:55 AM

In regards to hardware, they are the same device. They are both manufactured by a Taiwanese company called High Tech Corp. (HTC) and codenamed Wizard. The 8125 is the WIZA100 and the MDA is the WIZA200. Only difference is the form factor. Some say that the 8125's keyboard is better, i've got no complaints with the MDA's keyboard. Now as for software, each one will come with its own carrier specific customizations. Whatever customizations the provider has added, they ...

Also what you could do is just not use pocket internet explorer. I use opera for mobile www.opera.com as well as netfront. They work a lot faster than PIE as well as many more options.

Apr 26, 2006, 4:15 AM

I bought mine overseas (Imate Kjam) during christmas a while before it released in the US. My friend got interested and bought one from T-mobile and didn't know what he got himself into and ended up selling it on ebay for about $330. If you really want it i guess keep searching on ebay. The original name for this device is HTC Wizard so search for that and you'll get a mix of phones which are all the same just ...
