My question is, will it enable the BB to work?

in the HTC Dash / S620 / S621 (Excalibur) forum

It's Pepsifreak again. I contacted the way less than helpful tech people at TMobile and was told that if I want the wifi on the phone to work (outside of my home) I have to talk to all the places that supply wifi to the public and ask them why they won't supply it to me. That is the exact wording the TMobile tech person used. Ok, I have to go to Starbucks and ask them ...

Wi-Fi Won't Work - Doing Everything Right But Error Messages Only

in the HTC Dash / S620 / S621 (Excalibur) forum

Help: About 3 weeks ago the wifi on my Dash cut out. I've called TMobile a few times and no one knows what's wrong. I'm being walked thru everything with the Techie and it still doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas? TMobile is telling me I need to send the phone into them and will get a refurbished replacement. Not good. Please help!

I think people are P.O'd because the Dash doesn't have Word or Excel files similar to pocket pc's on it. As if anyone actually edits Word files on phones like this. Quit complaining and get a Blackberry if that's your issue. I think the phone is ok. Wifi, nice screen, good call quality and relatively easy to use.

Re: THINKING ABOUT GETTING IT.............

Got the Dash yesterday. Had the SDA Tornado and loved it, but the screen was kind of on the small side and typing text was a chore. It was a fantastic little phone. The Dash DOES have a Qwerty keyboard which is good with the only drawback being the tiny keys. So far, it's not too much of an issue. At work we don't have access to personal email, but with the Dash's Wi-Fi capabilities, it's no ...

Still In Love
Nov 12, 2006, 4:09 AM
in the HTC SDA (USA) / SP5m (Tornado) forum

Picked up the SDA a while ago and just wanted to say I'm still in love with it. I recently lost my job and this phone was an invaluable tool because of it's calendar functions, the wifi so I could check email from potential employers and it's fantastic reception. So glad I didn't trade it in for something less than useful. It's still the bomb. Thank you HTC. :D

:D Absolutely, I agree with previous posters about the SDA. Have had it for about 3-4 weeks now and am still in love. Music, video, voice dial, internet, it has it all. Oh yeah, and it's a phone too. Good reception, battery, call clarity. Be advised that the buttons are small and it is something you have to get used to. Also note that the sim card is behind the battery which can ...

Nasty YET weird? As opposed to say, nasty yet normal. Ok, so you took the time to go online and ask the for advice instead of going directly to a Cingular store? Hmmmmm. Makes one think that the nasty yet weird stuff that you found in your lap didn't ACTUALLY come from your phone. :o

Re: Why not Verizon?
Jun 13, 2006, 6:11 AM
in the Nokia 8801 / 8800 forum

Why not Verizon? I'll tell you why. Because they're perfectly happy with boring their customers to death with the same old ugly dull flip phones. I literally left Verizon because I was shopping for a new phone and didn't want to have to get another flip and Verizon had nothing in their arsenal. Zip. So I happily made the jump to T-Mobile and haven't looked back. I have a great BAR ...

Just wanted to ad that if you do go with the T-809 and decide you don't like it, you have 14 days to make up your mind and/or return it. Check it out, make sure you like it or dislike it and then decide.

Go with the SDA definitely. Be advised though that it doesn't come with T-Zones - you have to purchase the data plan for that, $29.99. It has some ok ringers, basically no wallpaper and should be looked at as more of a business oriented phone rather than a toy. Most phones out there are basically toys for people with too much time on their hands. I say definitely go with the SDA. Heard some not so ...

The music playah on the SDA is the bomb. Syncing with Windows Media Playah is simple and easy - transferring music to the phone took less than a minute. All Smiles... :D Buy this phone!

RAZR Ear Piece Volume?
May 29, 2006, 10:26 AM
in the Motorola RAZR V3 forum

Looking for info on how to turn up the ear piece volume. I called tmobile customer service and was told the way to do it is to turn up the ringer volume. That doesn't seem quiet right to me. :? Does anyone out there have a way to make it easier to HEAR PEOPLE TALK and not just by turning up the ringer volume?

Issues with RAZR V3
May 26, 2006, 3:37 PM
in the Motorola RAZR V3 forum

I'm on my second RAZR with T-Mobile. I began having technical issues with the first that included entering contacts, saving them with all their information, going back in to add more informaion and the contact is not there or is only partially there. Also when trying to finish entering contact info, the phone kept asking for an email address even though I didn't want to add one. Difficulties with setting up voice dialing. There seems to ...

RETURNED IT after a week :(
May 24, 2006, 2:48 PM
in the Samsung SGH-T509 forum

:( Loved the form factor. Easy as pie on the eyes but a horror as far as reception and call clarity goes. As another poster stated in the reviews section, you can't hear what people are saying, words drop out even setting up your voicemail is a chore. I listened to it and it was choppy and almost unrecognizable. It's a drag because I waited to get this phone and was totally disappointed because of the ...

in the Samsung SGH-T609 forum

...yeah, that along with the plastic toy like feel. T-Mobile does offer really good phones although I wish that the T-509 from Samsung had voice dialing and better reception. Too many words cut off when I owned it. Maybe they should think about bringing on their own version of the SLVR for us bar style fans.

NOT UGLY
May 20, 2006, 10:51 PM
in the Samsung SGH-T609 forum

Hello? Why are people calling this phone ugly? I think it looks as good as any other phone. People are literally saying it's ugly because it's not silver or black or something. Who the F cares? It's how the phone WORKS that's important. And how often do they make a white phone anyway. How about never? If you don't like the looks of the phone, DON'T LOOK AT IT! :P Problem solved! ...

T609 - RECEPTION, CALL CLARITY?
May 18, 2006, 5:21 AM
in the Samsung SGH-T609 forum

Ok, so can anyone who owns this phone tell me what the reception is like? The last Samsung I owned had spotty reception and a lot of breaking up in different areas - mostly at home which I wasn't happy about. Thanks.

Second day w/RAZR
May 15, 2006, 8:36 PM
in the Motorola RAZR V3 forum

Exchanged the T509 and got the RAZR yesterday. So far it's ok. There are definite issues with embedded commands and the guidebook is the worst. Pros: Sound quality/clarity - the bomb People think I'm on a land line it's that good Reception so far as been very good Screen is great Cons: Embedded every day commands - pissing me off. Add a contact? How about if you go to MIT and graduate, then you can do it. Menu is not intuitive ...

ANOTHER THING...reception can be spotty - was in my apartment talking on it and if I moved around to different rooms the reception was great then barely audible. Hmmmmmmm....Sad to say, I'm thinking about taking it back now because of this and because of the fact that there is no voice dialing feature. My go with the little Nokia 6010 or move on up to the HTC Tornado/SDA model. It may be too much phone for ...

ONE THING - no voice dialing! That is a huge item to go without. Think twice if you like the voice dialing feature. I was in the car and had to keep pressing buttons to get to the person I wanted. NO VOICE DIALING - not good! :(

T509 - STILL HAPPY WITH IT
May 13, 2006, 10:36 AM
in the Samsung SGH-T509 forum

:) I've had the phone a few days now and it's still fun to use. The reception problems are because of where I live, not the phone itself. I have fantastic reception at my job. Also, because I take the train to and from work, T-Mobile has service at some of the underground stations which is the bomb. The screen is great, the buttons large and easy to use and the ring volume is pretty good. I ...

Re: i need ringtones for this phone!!!
May 11, 2006, 6:20 AM
in the Samsung SGH-T509 forum

Yeah, picked this phone up yesterday and it TOTALLY needs ringtones. What are there, like 5 to choose from? This is how phone companies make their money - from downloading ringtones, texting and pic messaging. Why else would they only load a couple of useable ringtones into a phone? And what about the screen savers? Ugh, my LG6100 had way more than this phone has. I guess I'll be taking pictures for my wallpaper.

SGH-T509 Good? Bad? Ugly?
May 5, 2006, 10:32 AM

Hi: I'm with Verizon and have been shopping for a carrier that has a variety of phones. Just noticed this phone, like the looks and what I'm reading about it but wanted to get the straight scoop. Is this phone worth it? Right now I have a LG-6100 which is a good phone, but it's becoming boring. Also, how do you feel about T-Mobile and their service & coverage areas? Thanks.

That's because that's all they see and it's what they're used to. I doubt Cingular would have introduced the SLVR or any other bar phone if they didn't think it would be a success. Do you? My whole beef here is that Verizon is not only avoiding bringing on any quality bar phones, but any new phones at all. You go into their store and all they have is the same old thing. I keep ...

So, the majority of people who have verizon want a flip phone? Have you taken a survey or something? Where are your stats on that? I disagree heartily. Flip phones are ok, but Verizon also needs to start introducing some bar phones that aren't pieces of &%#@. They need to introduce some new phones PERIOD. I've been to their website and it's Motorola and LG flip phones all over the place. They need to start focusing some ...

WHO CARES ABOUT THE CAMERA???????
Apr 21, 2006, 6:41 AM
in the Verizon forum

Who actually cares about the camera in a phone? Can you answer that for me? Are you spending your days taking pictures with your phone, is that it? Its a PHONE. Verizon needs to come up with something different and focus on the phone part and leave unimportant things like ring tones, cameras and mp3 players to the short attention span set.

Who wants a G.D. flashlight? And as anyone who has picked up a Nokia 2128 knows, it is a cheap plastic piece of %$#@. :o Verizon is only focussing on making their lame phones into an mp3 players. I let my iPod do that for me. I guess they're making a killing off charging people to download songs. Here's a concept: How about coming up with some new PHONES. Remember those, you ...

Verizon Bar Phones?
Apr 20, 2006, 2:12 PM

Anyone out there know if Verizon will add some quality "bar" style phones to their lineup? Their current plethora of the same old dull flip phones is putting me to sleep. I've been checking their site and visiting their stores for months and nothing ever changes. Dullness rules with Verizon. Cingular has that great new Motorola, the SLVR which is the bar style version of the RAZR. You think Verizon will get a clue some day? ...

Will Verizon ever add some of the newer Nokia phones to their lineup? I am with Verizon (unfortunately) and am looking for something different than the same old dull flip phones. Like the Slvr for instance. When will they make something like it available? Anyone who is considering going with Verizon, keep in mind their phones are dull.   :x
