I guess that's cuz I just got this about a week ago. When I close mine, after the outer backround/time display turns off, it does a brief 5 second cingular screen saver (is THAT what ur moaning about?) and then goes comletely blank. U can then get the screen back on by either pushing one of the side buttons or opening it up.

Release Date/Price
Anyone have any more specific details besides "4th Quarter"? I heard Cingular plans to release this, as well as the V551, when their merger with ATT is complete, in about a week or two.
Also, can I get a possible neighborhood price range for this and the V551???

One of the big issues I have with this phone is how to get the pics off your phone and on to your PC. In the specs, it says there is no USB or IR. So then how, other than MMS, can you get them to your PC? CAN you even transfer them to your PC without e-mailing them?
Cuz that would suck if you couldn't. I see the V220 has USB, maybe I would consider that instead, ...

Oh, the end of October... hmm. That may be too long for me to wait. Any info on a possible release price for the V551 or the V620? I'll forget about both if they come out at over $150 (which both probably will). But who knows, the LG L1400 just came out for Cingular and its just $30 w/rebates and discounts.

Hey I just talked to a Cingular employee at the mall and he said that they are not releasing a Moto V551, and said the same about the V620. Who are you guys talking to when you talk about how they let you "play with the phone" and tell you how its hitting the market soon? These guys seemed clueless. Or maybe they just wanted to get rid of their V400s... who knows.
