Ugh another one???
A new service provider called Zact today announced its unique plan offerings. The company offers a large range of sizes for voice, text messaging, and data buckets that can be mixed and matched in any way. Any custom plan can be shared among any number of devices for $5 per device. Plans can be managed and changed at any time via an app on the Android phone. The company uses the Sprint 4G LTE network
Everything sounded pretty good up ...
What does Verizon want with garbage 2.5GHz spectrum?
It can't penetrate through toilet paper. They should wait it out for the 600MHz auction. They'll have obstacles sure but they'll get it. They always do.

Funny that's the same thing I thought when I got a Sprint flyer in the mail.
Yaye!!! Now go kill Sprint!!!
go go go !!!!!
Yaye!!!
Now go and overtake Sprint for 3rd biggest wireless carrier!!
Re: No New York?

Yes. It's called size and population density. It takes longer to upgrade a city like New York, with millions of people and lots of tall skyscrapers than smaller cities.
Verizon didn't seem to have a problem with it. Sprint is just incompetent and makes bad business decisions. Verizon is so far ahead they're already talking about doing away with CDMA for good and using LTE-only phones with VoLTE.
Re: BB Swan Song
The Palm Pre was doomed from the beginning. The hardware sucked, specs sucked, it was ugly and it was an exclusive device on the worst possible carrier: Sprint! Not to mention the worst marketing ever!
I'm an Android user myself but I think BB has a chance. A very slim one but I think if they play their cards right, they can make a comeback. Unlike Palm they're already on the right track. The devices won't be exclusive to just ...
Should have been based on T-Mo's version
It had a bigger screen and battery

And straight from a Verizon customer, I am considering switching to T-Mobile in May/June when the Galaxy S4 launches.
I'm just trying to get a testimony from a NON-T-Mobile employee who lives in Connecticut how Tmobiles network is, in Connecticut, New Britain Hartford area. But the whole state as well.
I need to free up some cash for other expenses like gas for my car and payments on my credit card.
I'm in the same predicament sort of. My Verizon contract ...
For real?
The company will launch its LTE network with an amount of spectrum equal to AT&T and Verizon, and double that of Sprint's current LTE deployment.
Where they get all that spectrum? Did AT&T really have that much to give? $hit way to go T-Mo!

T mobile monthly 4g is a better option then this. They have a better selection of devices and there data speeds are lot faster then sprints slow 3g.
I agree. If you want Sprint on no contract, use Ting. But the problem is the slow LTE deployment though

Are you a T-Mobile customer with an unlocked phone in one of these cities? Are you seeing new 3G data today (or this month?)
I'm in Manhattan and have an unlocked iPhone 5 on me, with a T-Mobile SIM in it. It's still only getting EDGE. I'm wonder if it's working for others.
My brother gets 3G signal in Brooklyn but EDGE speeds.
Re: Maybe not for the US :(
Yeah I don't see it coming to the U.S. It just doesn't make any sense anyway especially with the Galaxy S IV on the horizon. The price on the III would be low enough at that point.

Yea. Not sure. I wish i knew more about it. If anyone knows why it seems to take carriers sooo long to adapt the new updates I'd sure like to know. Maybe i'm just clueless but seems like this shouldnt be so hard..?
Most likely Verizon's stupid software had something to do with it. I don't care though. I'd rather wait a month or two later than be on a crap carrier like Sprint.

I was not thrilled when I first heard that Google picked LG. Maybe they will go back to Samsung next year.
Agreed. I don't care how pretty the phone looks. It's still LG. I am hoping those rumors of a Galaxy Nexus 2 are true. Maybe Samsung will get it right next time around. They did with the GS3. I have a feeling though the that the next Nexus will be a Motorola though
Re: Yay!
Is this how they do it in Europe?
Re: About time
D.C. has a population of 600k, NYC has a population of 8 million. DC's Metro has 80 stations. NYC's MTA has over 400.
Re: battery life
I agree Eric. I don't like The Verge anyhow. It was started by a former of employee of Engadget. A hipster with mommy and daddys money living in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Too bad Google relies on iOS for revenue
I wouldn't have made them $hit and ceased all development of Google apps for iOS immediately.

Just wondering then, why would they let a phone like the Maxx HD through? After all it has the 32 GB and expandable. I have mine with a 32 GB card in it as well.
Where is the difference?
I think that's just it. Motorola. Verizon is in bed with Motorola and doesn't want yet another phone upstaging the RAZR line. Cause we all know iPhone 5 and GS3 outsell the RAZR's as it is. Adding ...
Muy grande!
I don't know. When is big too big? This is borderline phablet. 5"? Love the idea of 1080p though but will most apps be accommodating? There's apps on the iPhone 5 still show black bars. Developers are taking forever to update them.
But anyway I'd have to see this device in person and hold it with my hands. Then 16GB? Hmmm

Which in my eyes is the only thing wrong wit the device, other than it being on Verizon and not Sprint, which is notorious for carrying HTC products more than Verizon.
As someone here on PS previously stated, Sprint needs to focus on rolling out LTE before obtaining more devices subscribers won't be happy with because of poor network speeds.
Phone is a fail as a whole
LG - Strike 1
No LTE - Strike 2
T-Mo - Strike 3
I hope those rumors of a Galaxy Nexus 2 from Samsung are true cause I can't trust LG. Even if they have supposedly stepped up their game, cameras on the devices still suck as does call quality and they have quality control issues

Don't know what to make of this
M$ has been quite the patent troll for years. Karma is indeed a bitch. Then again where were these a-holes when WP7 came out? This company has done nothing with their so-called ideas. M$ will just end up buying this turd anyway. Problem solved
Re: Who are these people?

The better question should be who cares? Nothing will change. Apples business practices will go on exactly the way they have been. This is not noteworthy.
Exactly.
Nothing will change. Apple's philosophy is: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." so don't look to any UI changes to either iOS or OS X any time soon

Where is your update Verizon Next Year?????
Still beats being stuck on 3G @ dialup speeds though. What good is unlimited data when your service sucks. I heard Sprint's LTE is delayed 6+ months in major cities. Big fail. Jellybean will come soon enough to Verizon
Re: $499
Metro should have merged with Cricket. That would have made a formidable competitor, IMO
Why only AT&T?
How does Microsoft expect for Windows Phone to take off when they're doing the one carrier B.S. again. Nokia needed to pull a Samsung and the release the phone on all carriers at once. That's the only way. Haven't they learned anything from Palm and the Sprint fiasco?

Tmobile is GSM based and MetroPCS is CDMA. While both carriers transitioning to LTE would eliminate compatibility issues, the GSM, CDMA legacy would remain for several+years. This would inherently re-live a Sprint/Nextel mess. I doesn't make sense to me. Personally, I don't know what DT is thinking.

True but Metro was planning to move the CDMA customers to VoLTE and sunset the CDMA network anyway. Either way it would be inevitable that the CDMA customers would somehow ...

Good article. I agree. Apple is the new Microsoft alright. Now it's M$ that's being innovative. Many may hate Win 8 or even WP8 for that matter but it's different. If M$ plays their cards right they could dent Apple when it comes to the tablet market. Something Android has yet to do. HTC actually took inspiration to the software and it seems like a much more cohesive device. The Samsung still has the nasty chinese knockoff look (not to mention worst-class feeling/looking/wearing materials) , and the Lumia feels a bit off with its bezel sizes and overall thickness.
