I went to Opera and got the full information that available with a desktop. I found this to be the case with a number of other sites. Opera generally doesn't care if a site is not configured for a PocketPC it will try to reconfig on the fly. At least that's how it works to me.

Do a google search. One of the K-Jam support forums had a note from a user who unlocked their K-Jam/8120. I think it involved registry changes. You'll probably pickup some broken cingular features. Make sure you can live with those before going down that path.

Yes, you can obtain a mobile version of Money back to at least Money '02. You can download the app. from the Microsoft site but you must have Money already installed on the PC you do your download from. The PocketPC install process will look for Money on your desktop. If it does not see it, or sees the wrong version the install will terminate. I use this on my 8125 for Money '05. It's ...

Check your settings for this. One of the settings allows for any key to answer the phone. If your set that way you'll always answer when you touch the screen regardless. Its Automatic Pickup in Settings/Phone/More. This should NOT be checked.

Go to Messaging and select the account in questions. Select Menu/Tools/Options. The 3rd options screen lets you select the type of download, partial (with kb limit) or full message.

I'm in the middle of reading "How to do everything with your Pocket PC". Its a little out of date since it was written when Windows Moble 3 was released, but it has been helpful in finding those obvious and less obvious features. I'm very pleased with my move up to this device. I loaded the pocket PC version of MS Money '05 last night. I allows me to keep track of accounts while away from ...

Given the additional requirements I'd lean towards the 8125 for the reasons mentioned by Spectre. An add-on keyboard would allow you to type as quickly as using a notepad. The keyboard would fold up to a size similar to the phone itself.

Could use a bit more information on what you need in the way of features or the type of problems/help you envision. My first impression is if you don't need add-on apps perhaps a Smartphone like the SMT-5600 would do. It has very similar features and although it takes add-ons, it is quite complete out of the box. I found mine very nice and mainly needed a bigger screen, such as on the 8125. The 8125 ...

Re: How's the reception on the Cingular 8125 compared to the SMT 5600

I've only had my 8125 for 3 days but I find the reception at least as good as my SMT-5600, so far. I'm still working out the kinks of moving to the new version of Windows and going from a Smartphone to a Pocket PC. They're different enough that I went to the local Borders and picked up a book on Pocket PC's. The functionality is so much broader I felt the need to understand the ...

This is really a Windows Mobile 5 question. Windows Mobile 3 and 5 allows for multiple types and simultaneous accounts. These include POP3, MS Exchange, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc. Hope this helps.

I just spoke to a telephone sales rep at Cingular and asked for the 8100. He said it's on the listing but shows as "coming soon". If you can wait it will be available, but I have no idea what "soon" means.

New SE P990 in eWeek
Feb 14, 2006, 3:03 PM
in the Sony Ericsson forum

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the new Sony-Ericsson P990 reported to be released 2nd Quarter this year. There is an article in the Feb. 13th issue of eWeek discussing how Sony-Ericsson is in joint development with Microsoft on an enterprise version of ActiveSync email software(which is already in use for Windows 5 smartphones). The article states that the target device is the new Sony P990 with a photo of said phone on page 33 of the ...

I have the SMT5600 and it does receive calls while surfing. In fact it will receive calls when any application is running. Don't forget to stop those tasks after your call is over as they stay in memory.
