The two companies will officially begin operating as one on SEPTEMBER 1st 2005.
From what we have been told in training with Nextel is that the service will continue to work the EXACT same (no matter which carrier you have) for probably atleast another year to come. A lot of our questions were answered by the company stating "Yes, In SEVERAL years".

The deposit is based of YOUR credit. Nextel runs the credit of new customers to determine if you can be approved for service or if there would be a deposit required.
Deposits with nextel range anywhere from $50-$500.00 Deposits (Again depending on your credit history). If you dont have ANY credit in your name you WONT be approved, it will come back unable to verify.

Also, If by chance you leave the phone OPEN & someone calls the image should appear (as long as you assign their photo to their number) & I believe the photo is larger.

Ya I couldn't figure it out, but some kind person sent me a link to download my favorite V300 ringtone MOONLIT HAZE :) & that made me pretty happy.
& I dont think the V551 is worth purchasing if you have the V300 & your happy with it. My V300 took better pictures & for some reason my V551 screen has a "greenish" tint to it (even though both phones I made sure were the same settings). However I do ...

I just got my V551 and the ringtones (yes all 10 of them) suck. 8O :o
I had a V300 before & I loved the many different rings to choose from (most of which are locked) is there anyway to unlock those ringtones from my V300 to transfer them to my V551 with my data cable & the mobile phone tools program?
Or does anyone know of where you can download standard motorola ringtones?

I have this exact same problem. I just got use to it not showing after a while. I have the nokia 8390 and it tracked all the calls & all the times they were missed or recieved. My cell provider gave me a new Moto V300 after the first 2 years of service & even though it has a colour screen & camera I miss ...

Ya. just surf the web for V551 walpapers & save them to your online album (Im assuming Cingular offers this as my carrier does) then send them to your phone from your online album (which arrive as a text message) and save them as walpapers. I hope this helps.

I had trouble with this b4 too, It wouldn't work b/c my contacts were stored to the SIM card, store the contacts that u want as 1 touch dialing to PHONE (it gives u the option when you view/edit contacts) and then it will let you assign them to your keypad for instant dialing (I LOVE THIS FEATURE) I couldn't live without it.

Upgrading from V300 to V551 does speakerphone still suck? & MP3?
Hey guys, I just ordered my new V551 i havne't got it yet but I have a question.
What are the main differences/ changes they made between the V300 & V551? (Like is anything actually different about the phone other then the Bluetooth/Video Camera?
Also with the V300 you had to call somebody & wait till the phone connected b4 u could turn on the speakerphone option, is this something that the V551 still doest? (It's weird how Moto goes ...

I am so sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your phone is defective! I had the same problem with my motorola v300 the day I bought it! Eventually the speaker and everything went on it! Motorola wanted me to send it back, but I called Rogers b/c i just got the phone a day b4 and they send me another one, which was also defective and im not on my 3rd phone!

if you want to join nextel go with the i710 or the i830. I dont think the 730 problems actually did get 100% fixed!

It has a great speaker phone, voice recorder and the ringer is great too, the MP3 just means that it can play MP3 like ringtones, and it's not boxy or crappy sounding!
I just don't like the phone b/c of the issues pple have.

Yes its the same phone, I work for nextel telesales, and I have not heard any complaints from people with the i710 (check the coverage on nextel.com) I do recommend the 710 but NOT the i730 that phone has nothing but problems.

Faceplates & Pictures You have all taken!
Hi, I am new to the V300 I have currently upgraded from the Nokia 8390 to V300!
I am purchasing faceplates on ebay to change the look of the phone, but im wondering if anyone else has done this yet? I would love to see what the phone looks like with different faceplates! Im a little skeptical about this V300 b/c I dont like the shape of the external Caller Id screen.
Also, im wondering who the pictures come out? ...

The only thing I can think of is doing a MASTER CLEAR!
Not the master reset but MASTER CLEAN. It will clear everything, I think including your contacts! I dont know!
