Hi all, I am new to cingular -- and just purchased a HTC Tytn - 3G PDA phone. This is being used by other Cingular users in my area (NYC) on the UMTS network without a probelm. My issue -- when I am home (non-UMTS) I ger GPRS connections without a problem. Once I get in the city -- the "U" pops up and I cannot connect for email, etc (only can use the phone). I have the K-Jam version (Since Dec) and have T-Mobile as a Carrier. I have been using TomTom 5 since October (first with the Jam -- now with the K-Jam). ....burning the Itunes songs to a Music CD, then ripping the songs from the CD to an MP3 files and using those on your card. I also heard of people using a program to "Record" Itune files into MP3s. Hope this helped. I dont have a Mini SD card yet--so I dont know for sure.

Well I got the phone out of contract from Ebay -- waiting for it to arrive. I just ordered this phone for my girlfriend and have a few questions: - why do you need a data cable if there is a SD card (for contacts only?) - where do u get the data cable (if needed) Can this phone use bluetooth headphones? If not -- does it come with regular headphones? Thanks again everyone! This is a really good forum!

Wow I have to take a look. I have been salivating over the new phones for a while (since the Clara rumors started -- my GF even thought I was cheating). No problem. I was all set to buy yesterday and waited to the last minute. I too want ONE UNIT. Carrying an Ipaq and a 7610 is too much. The design is great on the MPX....but I think I may wait till the US release is out too. I did see alot of good reviews of the imate Jam -- POWERFUL PROCESSOR and Good memory -- but I want a clam phone. Expansys.com ...

Yeah, I am not sure how legit it is. They dont't have a great seller rating....and not enough pictures to proove it is for real. Things I found out via surfing the web: - look for the keypad with the blue ALT button. This is supposed to be the final production keypad (this items doesnt have the ALT buton). - There are alwyas new ROMs coming out to fix bugs. Currently it does nto take video ...

Where did you see this phone for $400? I been watching Ebay auctions going for more than twice that! I heard there is an issue with the processor and not enough ROM on the test models out (making it slow an not a good multi-tasking unit). But I am considering getting one if the prices and specs are right!

You can get a SMALL picture next to the name of the caller if you add thir picture next to their name in the contacts listing. When you receive a call---a small box will appear with the persons name and number and a small icon of the picture will be next to it. For FULL SCREEN picture calling -- you have to buy a 3rd party application. here is a site that sells one that I use ...

Very Valid points. I was awaiting the V710 -- but after seeing the trouble start to unfold, I quickly looked for alternatives. THough T-Mobile isnt the greatest network for NY, I am finding ways to live with it (But that GOD I never got the V710--it seems to have more problems every day). I agree, thr 850 freq would have been sweet, and hopefully this phone will be $200-250. I am scared though for the future ...

Hey, I got mine in Manhatten (Park Ave South) in the Begining of August. I ported my # to T-Mobile. Sure reception is spotty, but when it works...it works. PLUS TMobile has the 6600 series which has the same platform...so all I did was cal them up and the sent via text message the set-up. OH -- if u sign on for a year with a 3rd party store -- u can get the phone ...

Thanks -- that did not work. I wound up hard reseting my phone and that solved it. it was a very interesting "quirk". so it appears it may have been a hardware issues after all.

HELP I am a Tmobile customer that for the past week I have not been able to receive incoming calls EXCEPT from Tmobile users. (which is KILLING ME). Hey, I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am a NEW T-Mobile customer -- but I am having a problem getting reception in my house. Right now--I must be NEAR a window to get a good signal. Are there any tips on boosting the signal oor specific models that grab a better signal than others? Thanks
