System update failure
Jul 16, 2014, 6:38 AM
in the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD forum

About a month ago my system updated. Upon completion I had the phone locking up and simply not functioning properly. The tech at my local VZW shop worked exhaustively to try to figure out the problem and even attempted to hard reset/restore the system/phone to no avail. Finally after going through about a two-hour process the rep on the phone agreed to send a replacement phone. The man who worked on my phone thought possibly ...

hrmles1, thank you for your reply. That is what I was looking for, someone who could respond to either confirm or deny the truth behind this information. It made sense to me when the slaesman told me this. Hopefully by October 9 all will be worked out and I can get myself into a beautifully functioning Tour. Thanks again.

Ah, but there's the catch. I was simply asking him some questions about the Tour as I told him I would be due for a new phone in October. So I was not buying or returning anything, therefore he was not trying to avoid any work. Seriously, does anyone know whether this could be a true remedy for the trackball issue? It just seeme it could be legitimate as I dob't remember seeing any trackball ...

Trackball issues explained
Sep 21, 2009, 11:00 PM
in the BlackBerry Tour 9630 forum

I spoke with a salesperson yesterday at a local VZW store about the Tour and its issues. The man told me that the trackball issues have been caused by a software issue rather than a physical problem. He explained this is being rectified and should be done soon. Does this sound legitimate?

Hi all. I am closing in on my NE2 date and am wondering whether you've experienced any improvements in the quality of the Tour now that it has been out a while. I'm wondering whether RIM has worked out some of the bugs that plagued the Tour early on. Below is what I'm wondering... -loose battery door -poor battery strength -poor call quality -trackball sticking -slow OS and rebooting issues Can you provide some feedback on whether RIM has worked out some ...

I don't understand your logic for your reply, Joker. I don't have to be either to be correct in this case. I do love my electronic toys but refrain from getting the next best toy prematurely before the kinks are worked through to some degree. I signed up for this site simply to gain added insight on new products and read people's thoughts on them. So, what is wrong with that? I've got more ...

Going to take my time
Jul 20, 2009, 11:08 AM
in the BlackBerry Tour 9630 forum

I'm due for my upgrade in October. I was planning on getting a Curve but think I will go with the Tour. By October I figure most, if not all, of the bugs will be worked out. Why don't people realize they should NOT jump into getting the 'next best toy' until it has been out a few months and the manufacturers work out the kinks? It seems the norm for BB is to put ...

Ring/vibrate
Dec 14, 2007, 2:05 PM
in the Motorola RAZR2 V9m forum

One simple question I have about this phone is whether it has a ring/vibrate option on it unlike my current V3m. I love my V3m and it has performed phenomenally well. I'm about due for my 'New Every Two' and am strongly considering the Razr2. So, does it have the ring/vibrate option? Thanks for any and all help.

Great. I'll look for your write up. Unbelievable the little kinds of features that Verizon locked up on this phone. I could see them doing it for some things that might require us to pay to use because we all know how money hungry they all are. But to lock up simple features like this is completely ridiculous. Thanks for your reply.

in the Motorola RAZR V3m forum

Folks, I've read the manual but have not had any luck with being able to change or see any difference when trying to change my display themes. Is there a hidden trick to this I'm missing? I just got the phone today and have already read the entire manual. So far I like the phone, although any new phone takes time to adjust to. I've already DL'd some ringtones but haven't played too much as ...

http://eforcity.stores.yahoo.net/razrv3clipon .html http://www.88-gifts.com/razrv3/r azr_v3c_faceplates.htm These two sites will show you the snap on full face plate covers offered for the RAZR in a wide variety of colors.. They simply snap over the two folding parts of the phone and can give it a more distinct look. I've seen these in person, and they do not look bad at all, plus they offer the phone more protection without the bulk of a leather case. Hope this helps. No voiding of ...

I could use some help folks. With Verizon I will be upgrading my phone very soon. I am considering one of these phones. What I'm looking for is some good honest opion as to which model may be the ...

I simply do not understand you and your posts. If you have something helpful and constructive to post in reply to people's questions, why do it in an abrasive manner? I originally asked a simple question and then get a somewhat wise a$$ reply from you. You don't have to try to talk down to me as I am a 40 year old very well-educated professional, not some young punk looking to cause or receive problems. ...

You don't need to let anyone know anything because you're obviously a young boy based on how you reply to people. I'm trying to interact with adults, so please feel free to leave my posts alone. You can 'dude', etc. with someone else. When I need to ask something of someone who thinks he knows it all, I'll contact you....

Nobody lives under a rock here. Some people actually have families and work for a living so that surfing the net constantly isn't a given. I'm doing my research...relax. Being helpful is cool. Dogging people here isn't.

Should I be worried? It seems as though the majority of reviews are pretty good concerning this phone, however, I am now coming across some alarming information in this particular forum. I'm hoping the bugs you folks have been discussing may have been worked out, but I guess I'll have to find out the hard way when it arrives.

Digital vs Tri-mode phones?
Aug 1, 2004, 9:10 PM
in the Techs & Trends forum

Can someone explain the advantages of one over the other? I'm thinking tri-mode gives a greater capability in terms of searching for and receiving signals and avoiding dropped calls. Some of the supposed top phones Verizon offers are 'all digital' or 'digital handset' phones. Would this be something to avoid if I can get one with tri-mode instead? Please excuse my ignorance.

Motorola phone offerings

I have been a VW customer for some 12 yrs now and have always been a supporter of Motorola phones. They have served me very well in the past. I notice that over the past few years Verizon is offering less and less Motorola products and the ones they do offer are always given poor reviews. Why won't Verizon offer the better quality Motorolas? I am unfamiliar with the Samsing and Lg phones and could ...
