Droid X Self-Destructs If You Try To Mod
Jul 15, 2010, 10:43 AM
in the Motorola Droid X forum

"If the eFuse failes to verify [the firmware information (what we call ROMS), the kernel information, and the bootloader version], then the eFuse receives a command to 'blow the fuse'** or 'trip the fuse.' This results in the booting process becoming corrupted, followed by a permanent bricking of the phone. This FailSafe is activated anytime the bootloader is tampered with or any of the above three parts of the phone has been tampered with." I no longer have my v710, but I know that with the newest firmware at the time the SEEM changes allowed for OBEX transfers. If nothing else try flashing to the SD firmware thats modified from the VZW stock firmware. To make your phone discoverable all you need to do is goto the Settings menu and into the Bluetooth menu. There is an option there called "Find me" which will put the v710 into discoverable mode for 60 ...

Not sure why the phone would freeze after 12 songs on your playlist. Make sure you format the card with the phone and not your PC. As far as songs not showing up I do know that if the file names are fairly long (roughly bigger than 15 characters) they do not show up on the phone. Make the filenames smaller. Good luck. hyp

Also, I would suggest trying to reencode your mp3s if you still cannot get them to work. The best *free* software that I've seen for ripping mp3s using the LAME mp3 encoder (a lot better than mp3pro or others) is WinLAME. Here's the link to soureforge.net for the download. http://sourceforge.net/projects/wi nlame

Here's a good tip for you if you can't get the voice recognition to work on a name. Goto Menu->Settings[7]->Personalize[2]->Sound Settings->Contacts=Voice Now, I like to turn on the Speakerphone to hear better, but open your Phone Book and scroll to the name you are having difficulty with. Listen to how the phone dictates the name and try saying the name similar to how the phone says it. hyp
