"average customers I get don't have any sense of grammar, life skills, live on ssi"
Okay, then why are you trying to sell them phone service. You may not realize this, but you're hurting your company by trying to sign up people that won't pay their accounts, get debt build up, and never fullfill the subsidy of the "free phone", which is never free.
I actually understand WHY your company has prevented you guys from trying to sell "free phones", because most likely you were using that as a way to push sells ...
What is this "iPhone 5" you speak of?
There's no such thing. Rumors are rumors, nothing more. Until Apple, the MFG of everything Apple, announces a product, there isn't such a thing.
There's not even an iPad 3, even though people SWEAR there was going to be. It's called "The New iPad". That's simple enough, yet people just don't get it.
Besides, I've many times sold people on Andriod phones over Apple phones becuase Apple's phones are not as personal or customizable as an Android.
"could prevent Apple from importing the infringing devices into the U.S."
"If the commission upholds the judge's ruling, it could prevent Apple from importing the infringing devices into the U.S."
That is so wrong it's crazy. I mean, theoretically,...in the far future, in another universe, they MAY prevent it...but that won't happen. Even if Apple's main job supply is that in China, the US gov will see that Apple is an essential business and will keep them right on importing. And, even if/when they make changes, most of ...
Re: The big question is....
That would be tax-dodging on the people's fault. If the person REPORTS to Spritn that they live in say....Florida, then that's what they go by even if the person lives in NY. With eBilling, it's hard to confirm that because the billing address is set, but customer getting an email bill in NY even if addressed in Florida.
Also, there's split addressing, where the customer reports they living in one state and have their bill sent to another.
My Bad
I already knew that the hardware would restrict those services based on it being a .3mp VGA front camera, but I didn't think it was actually going to be a touted feature.
I think Android really dropped the ball on that without posting the minimal requirements and disclaimer that "not all devices compatable with this feature". After all, 4.0 is more for launch phones, not backwards compatable phones.
But again, I'm sorry.
Nexus S 4G =/= Galaxy Nexus
FYI yourself.
There's a REASON for these fees...
That's true. And as for getting it waved now....forget about it. Not going to happen.
And to those customers that lie through their teeth that say "the store told me it would be waved", we tell them: "go back to the store and get it waved by them then."
Honestly, the fees do help PAY for services. Like those people that have to put up with talking a customer through 10 minutes of informing them how ...
Re: To All Sprint CCA's!!!!!
There IS a $100 deductable for a phone when filing a claim through Asurion. And if the customer refuses to go to the store, refuses to have a tech look at the phone to pretermin that there is no water, physical damage, and demands to get a replacement: the only option is for them to go through insurance.
Oh, and if it's a defect as per something like a KNOWN ISSUE, the policies dictate to have them go through tech ...
Re: Stores and Fees
That's just it though, care has procedures and policies to process. For example, when a store calls in requesting a change for a customer, we cannot do it, we must redirect them to call NSS.
In fact, the store shouldn't call care at all, and should only be calling NSS.
Most of the time a store is calling care is to try to get something done their either too lazy to do, or that they're trying to promise the ...
The customer IS always right....
...except when they're wrong, which is always.
You're right though, the guy that said "the customer is always right", probably never forseen the social decay that happened over the past 2-decades. With that, the customer has become a whinny fool who thinks that a company owes them everything, while they pay nothing.
Stores and Fees
To all stores on all companies (especially Sprint):
Pleave, for the love of all that is holy, stop telling customers to call customer care to get their upgrade and/or activation fees waved.
We cannot do it. You know we cannot do it.
You're straight out lying to the customer to get a sale when you tell them we can. This is fraud and you will get caught and lose your job.
Not only that, but it's making ...
Re: why?
Here's why:
Legal threats. See, apple is not only taking the big guys (Samsung, HTC, Motorola), but also the little guys to court. Little guys cannot afford all the legal tie up and will settle. This gets Apple money.
And, it was Apple's plan all along. Sue everyone, get people to settle and pay licencing fees.
Why in the south, and why so slow?
Really? It's like "oh, we've improved, ....like 1yrd out of 1,000yrs". AT&T and Verizon have announced LTE expansions by the handfull of cities each time, HUGE areas. Sprint is the snailes pace.
By the time they get their LTE to 50% of their 3G footprint, it'll be 2018 and everyone else will be on Super Satalite Tower Future Coverage (SSTFC)?
Ever Hit by someone texting?
If not, then you have no room to talk. Luckily it was slow in a city residential zone, but still it's the car fix, the insurance dealings, everything. Not a good thing
Re: call customer service
You're one of those people that I simple dislike.
If you've been eating at McDonald's for 10-15 years, should they give you a free Big Mac? No, tehy shouldn't.
If you've been shopping at Walmart for the past 20 years, should they give you a free $36 gift card? No, they won't.
Stop thinking that the world owes you something for free just by living it in. You want something, you earn it, you pay for it. ...
Re: "... now can get out of their contracts for free since the fees have now changed"
Hello, Mr. Full-of-it.
You maybe a salesman, but you're one of those ones at the store that tries to rush the customer without ever having them read their contracts or you read them for that matter.
An upgrade fee is reflected only associated with actually upgrading the phone, which is associated with signing a new contract.
In order for the customer to be charged this fee, they have to upgrade and essentially agree to the new contract. So, the customer ...
"... now can get out of their contracts for free since the fees have now changed"
Wrong, oh so very wrong. Ever heard the term "fee are subject to change". Not only that, but this is a fee associated with contract renewal. You don't pay it until you agree with the new contract and the new terms, for that fee. It's not effective until that time. It doesn't effect your currect charges, bill, or service, so it's not a contract-ender.
Re: Unauthorized Downloads
I think he meant to ask for a legit example of when a customer doesn't subscribe to one of these.
Only one I can possibly think of is one where customer just starts service with a newly assigned number and is getting spam text from the previous number's user on what they subscribed to.
NextMail
Interesting, I thought that feature was exclusive to Nextel phones and this is a CDMA phone, right?
still no sorry have your though of prepaid ?>
Prepaid charges for data too. It's $50 a month for it in a plan, included with texting and voice. And the phones...oh boy, the phones. A decent smartphone will cost $150-300 on pre-paid.
Re: Murderous rage.
What's the policy?
Come on, details, people, details. I'd like to know what's not true.
FCC=Voice of the People
The governement is the voice of the people. Apparently they don't have enough voice. They want to get the opinion of the public to weigh on whether or not Lightsquared can get it's 4G through. This again is a public based decision.
I vote yes.
AAAAAHHHHHHHH!
Hate it, hate it, hate it!
Self-ritious, self absorbed people who think the world owes them everything! WAKE UP!
Why the rant?
Customer calls in complaining about how our network sucks and he barely tolerates our "crappy network, but because we've got such great customer service, he sticks with us.
A few more comments of kissing the ol' rump as far as our customer service is, he then states that he wants his upgrade moved up so he can upgrade ...
"Pay your bill!"
Man I wish I could just scream this at some customers.
"OH, my friend died."
"Oh I got in a car reck."
"I forgot."
"I'm unemployeed."
I DO NOT CARE! Honestly, a cell phone is a luxury, not a requirement or a necessity.
People need to pay their bill and own up to their usage.
Oh, and if they're going to complain about overage: STOP USING THE PHONE SO MUCH! Or get a higher plan, but again if ...
Walmart: Stealing Jobs since 1990's
So, it's not enough that Walmart takes the jobs of guy shops, automotive shops, grocery stores, convienice stores, gas stations, and everything else....no, now they have to stealthe business away from cellular companies.
And someone complained about AT&T being a monopoly?!
Re: Is the iPhone 4S 4G capable?
There is NO 4G iPhone. Apple has not made a single one yet, the 4s is the same across all networks it's available.
Sprint: Rules the South?
Apparently Sprint wants to stick to catering to customers in the deep south.
Every other company has mapped their LTE in high priority areas such as Chicago, New York, LA, Seattle, and the likes.
Re: I really wish they'd make a law...
But it would work. If anything, those people that REALLY, REALLY want one would attempt to increase their IQ and the overall education level in our country would rise a bit.
Re: I really wish they'd make a law...
How so? I think he/she is right. Too many people with smartphones that have less IQ than the phone contains. Honestly, over 1/2 my customer claim to throw away their owners manual. And then they ask stupid questions about using the phone that was in said manual.
Re: panic mode.
None. They cannot FORCE a company to eat a lose, otherwise the company can just just say "we no longer take credit card payments".
It's stupid that the FCC would investigate that a company said they'd no longer deal with a forced charge from CC companies.
Re: Over heard today
Did the agent mention that with her declairing unemployment that he'd have to file for the discount to be removed...or???
The Charge is Valid!
Credit card companies and banks charge companies a small fee to process credit card payments. This is how a bank stays in business (you think they stay in business by holding your $500 check and then giving your $500 back at the end of the week...there's no income there at all!)
Verizon is saying "enough is enough" to this charge as they're losing capital and need to make up for it. So, they pass the charge onto customers. ...
Kankakee, really?!
First off, this is a location that nobody knows about or cares about. Bad starter spot
Also, if they're implanting their own LTE tech into the multimode towers, why are they then pairing with Clearwire and the other one (the one with the GPS problems) for their LTE?
And finally....FINALLY they put out the multimode towers. They've been saying "they're coming" for the past year now. They need to push these faster to get better coverage to appease ...
Re: Well frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
Amen!
Seriously, every time after every issue people have to bring up the "but I also have had issues with your network and am thinking of canceling and going with X. What can you do to keep me as a customer?"
Eventually, I want say to them "I don't want your greedy :o :o :o as a customer"
Evil Apple
Does the phone say Apple?
Does it run iOS?
No? So what's the issue?
That's the problem with Apple. They want to completely monopolize the smartphone market. They claim that they hold all titles to the familiar features of every phone, although they're different they're miles appart.
AT&T Wins Again
This was the plot of the removal of the rquest in the first place. By AT&T removing the request, then the legitimacy of the suit goes out the window. The suit gets tossed out and then when that is tossed out, they resubmit the request again.
The WORSE part of this whole deal is the ammount of tax payer money that's going into trying to prevent AT&T from trying to monopolize the cell phone industry as ...
Re: "Someone has hacked my gmail account"
It's a lot better than
Cust: "I forgot my Gmail and my phones locks, can you give me that information, I never use it."
Me: "We're ******, not Google. We do not have that information. What we CAN do is wipe your phone, deleting all the information, so you can use is again."
Cust: "But I don't want to lose my information."
Me: "Okay, next time remember your Gmail account."
Virigin Mobile?
How can Sprint allow for their CDMA resources to go to this when Virgin Mobile (owned by Sprint) is main pre-paid for CDMA that they encourage? What...why...how?
Manditory Training ON MY DAYS OFF!
Apparently we've got a new system at work and must train manditory on the weekends on Sat and Sun, days that I would otherwise have off.
That means 12-days straight of this nightmarish place.!
Oh, and other teams have done this training on their normal days, during their normal shift.
*******!!!!!
Re: Sounds like the same old thing
"only meaningful one for those who make minimum wage due to metrics and ABC"
Wouldn't that be most people? Just as in our facility, with all the stats they've added since January, as well as the huge spike in sales goals (ya, to those from other companies, customer service has to essentially do the job of a store rep or telesales as well...), then a very large percentage of your facility would be at minimum wage as well. ...
