Hoping to escape "cell-hell" Montana....
Mar 19, 2013, 4:43 PM
in the Article: AT&T Boosts Mobile Share Data Allotments to 50GB forum

Good grief! I thought nobody in the galaxy uses over 2GB eh A Fee & Fee? What consumer account would then need to shell out these obnoxious amounts of dough for all this data? The Dugger Family if they can manage to have 230 more kids? Cant wait to get out of "cell hell" Montana with the scummy duopoly of ATT & VZW only. You folks who have the option of Sprint & T-Mobile don't know how lucky you ...

I have Verizon now. I do love their LTE Network where it exists & am grandfathered (for now) to unlimited data but wtih how dirty AT&T & Verizon have been going to these new COMPLETE RIP-OFF Data Share Plans & trying to coax us off unlimited, I think it is wonderful Sprint & T-Mobile are keeping data unlimited/unthrottled. I wish them all the luck in the world & hope they get a ton of customers from the Big 2. ...

I agree with you hand down on Sprints slower speeds. No doubt that ATT and VZW have the best, biggest and fastest data networks but what good is it if to use any if that data, you have to pay them a fortune every month. I mean to have and use a smartphone should not have to cost $150 to $200 a line, should it? From the way it is written, seems as though either mid summer or when ...

Scummiest thing I've ever heard of in the wireless industry! Hello Sprint!!!
May 16, 2012, 7:05 PM
in the Article: Verizon to Kill Grandfathered Unlimited Plans forum

Really Verizon? Despicable. Do you understand the meaning of "grandfathered"? I hate to admit it, but even AT&T "limiting unlimited" at 3GB than throttling to unusable speeds is more customer-friendly than this. WOW! So you are loyal to them for years & they stick it to their customers like this? Oh well, I guess if you actually use your smartphone & it's apps and need data more than voice or text, Verizon & AT&T are out. So is U.S. ...

Yeah I heard De La Vega boasting about his value 300mb data plan for $20 on CNBC. What a dufus! IMHO, 300mb is a joke. I guess you at right though that this BS ATT data plan is actually worse than Cricket.

Sucks for Simple customers! Hello 2GB data cap!!
May 10, 2012, 10:45 PM
in the Article: TracFone Snaps Up Simple Mobile forum

Surely Simple will follow Tracfones 2GB data limit like StraightTalk and Net10. I just left ST because after ten days and 1GB of data I got the robocall from Tracfone telling me "I am harming their network by using too much unlimited data and if it doesn't stop, my service will be terminated". I just went with Simple Mobile and canceled my ST line. I get better speeds with the $60 4G plan and should get 5GB of data ...

All you should hear is cricket's chirping with their ridiculous data allotment
May 10, 2012, 1:18 PM
in the Article: Cricket Planning Huge Smartphone Push forum

Cricket is a joke! 1GB of data maximum! Who needs a smartphone with that ridiculous amount of data? Why do you need to have a fancy smartphone to barely have enough to check emails? They should stick to feature phones only. Boost, Virgin, StraightTalk, Net10, Simple Mobile, T-Mobile, MetroPCS Verizon and ATTs prepaid unlimited everything featurephone-only plans for $50 are better. I can't think of a worse deal than Cricket. Can't fathom how 6 million uninformed people ...

Re: Since you charge like VZW, why not just have them acquire USC?
May 5, 2012, 1:17 PM
in the Article: U.S. Cellular Refreshes Plan Pricing, Ups Data Packages forum

I liked U.S. Cellular's prices and data plans before, not now. A contract is a contract no matter who it is with. I do respect when carriers will at least reduce it as you progress through it. Not sure what "rewards system" is or the overage protection/cap. Maybe they warn you by text or something when you get close to the limit? Seems any carrier should automatically do that for customers. The free battery ...

Since you charge like VZW, why not just have them acquire USC?
May 4, 2012, 1:17 PM
in the Article: U.S. Cellular Refreshes Plan Pricing, Ups Data Packages forum

Good options & prices for us U.S. Cellular? With these prices & data tiers, I wonder why people wouldn't just go to Verizon or AT&T? Hopefully Verizon just gobbles them up because they are useless now to most consumers as a "value option". Heaven-forbid Sprint & T-Mobile ever fold or are acquired by Big Blue/Red, WE ARE SCREWED!!!

Exactly. Let's also let them merge into 1 or 2 companies and charge us WHATEVER they want to. No problem. If anyone doesn't like it, START YOUR OWN CELL COMPANY THEN. Free & Open Markets should work exactly like this. This guy is something else! Whining like a baby because he didn't get his way & help "increase" competition by allowing AT&T to acquire TMO. Now as a result of this defeat, AT&T customers will be punished. These customers have 3 other network choices & a host of MVNOs to choose from. They don't necessarily need AT&T direct. Then if AT&T chooses to mess with their MVNO's like Straight Talk/Net10 GSM, H20 & Red Pocket, maybe a giant like ...

I really, really loved Nokia. In my opinion, they always made the phones with the best signal strength (antennas) & battery life. Previous I had a Nuron with T-Mobile & a Nokia E5 with Straight Talk/ATT. Both were great, inexpensive smartphones. in the Article: FCC Deals a Blow to Dish Network's Network Plans forum

Why do they keep squashing or delaying fifth nationwide core networks/carriers? First Lightsquared now Dish. If Dish or anyone else has the spectrum and the desire to build a nationwide cell network, then the government should not only allow them but facilitate and expedite the process! More choices in wireless will keep pricing reasonable for us consumers and the constant competition among more core networks (not MVNOs) will also be extremely beneficial to all of us.

Heavy AT&T users should AOL a truly UNLIMITED LTE Data Plan on Ebay

I just checked and there are maybe 4 or 5 Ebayers auctioning off their Verizon unlimited data plans right now on Ebay. Some are including phones and some not but if you do need unlimited data, get a Verizon 4G LTE phone not a 3G. They "network optimize" 3G but LTE is completely unlimited. I use 10 to 15 gigs a month at 10-20 Meg speeds on both my lines with no overage charges, just $29.99 a month minus ...

Is this an utter impossibilty with A Fee & Fee? If you can't handle your 100 million connected devices, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile would be glad to help them out. How is it bandwidth at AT&T "magically" increases when an app maker would pay them to completely unlimited? What a mystery, more like what a joke.

AT&T does a lot of stupid things with data and their customers and I call them on it often. This IMHO is anti-consumer. I pay full price for my phones (unsubsidized) so I feel I should be allowed to do with it what I want like rooting, etc. I hope Verizon stays cool with customers still on grandfathered unlimited data or Im headed to Sprint. This is an anti-consumer move and a step in the wrong direction to want ...

That is so kind of AT&T giving that option to their customers they are screwing. Kind of like, do you want to drown or be shot? I guess facts seem to be optional here. Some people would say you should be limited because you are a data hog using 1GB a month! Eventually enough people will be off unlimited or have left AT&T that you, at 1GB, will be throttled because you will be the top 5%. Sound different when it will be you, not "other" people affected?

Why mess with Verizon? They have spectrum and they using it to spread their network out all over the country. They have more TRUE LTE (not bogus HSPA or 3.5G or WiMax) Coverage than all the other carriers combined and have plans to cover their ENTIRE nationwide 3G footprint by the end of 2013 with 4G LTE. Glad people are taking it to them! I would be pissed at any carrier that engages in all these data shenanigans with their customers. Re: How is it always AT&T having these issues of network congestion?
Feb 27, 2012, 10:39 PM
in the Article: AT&T May Charge App Makers for Consumer Data Use forum

Yes. Honesty is the first word that comes to mind when I think of AT&T. Threatening customers that prices will go up for everyone if we aren't allowed to acquire T-Mobile. Throttling "UNLIMITED" data customers to unusable speeds after using 2GB of data to force them to migrate to 3GB and up tiered plans. Telling Congress that allowing AT&T to acquire T-Mobile will actually "increase" competition in the wireless industry. Forcing a lot of people off of their unlimited ...

My thought is that if they wanted U.S. Cellular, they would have gone after them and not MetroPCS. U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS and Cricket will eventually get gobbled up. I always kind of hoped the three would merge to form a 5th nationwide carrier for us to choose from but that's incredibly doubtful.
