Re: funny how......
They beta-tested the update, and if your battery was going from 100% to 60% in an hour before and is doing the same thing now, it's obvious that the update didn't fix it.
Re: Anyone know what the bugs are related to?
This doesn't account for the non-4S iOS 5 devices that are experiencing the same problems. Nice try, though.
Anyone know what the bugs are related to?
Out of curiousity, has there even been any understanding of what is causing the battery drainage? Obviously "bugs", but does anyone have any further information as to what aspect of iOS 5 is causing this?

Yellow screens, battery problems, Siri issues, oh my!
I find it interesting that there isn't more of an uproar on the internet or in the news. There have been screen issues, battery shortages, and now this whole thing with Siri. Does anybody else get the feeling like Apple wasn't really ready to push out a new phone, but felt pressured to release a new product just to handle the masses? It also seems like it's just a weak attempt to catch up with what every other company ...
Re: For LTE, there should be higher options
I see this argument a lot, but it doesn't make sense. Let's say we have a website that uses 150KB of data. Not much. Let's say it takes 10 seconds to load on 3G and 2 seconds on LTE. It's still loading 150KB total, on 3G and LTE. One might say, "But you can get to the websites faster so you'll want to browse more." This is rarely the case. If I want to look up a Wikipedia article ...
Goog**?
"Google explained in a blog post today that Googie Voice users on the Sprint network can receive pictures and video content from Sprint subscribers on their Android smartphones. "
Googie?
Atrix + Skype = Win
Works perfect. Tested it this morning, worked amazingly over the network without wifi. Skype > Tango.
Re: Good Thing for Root and other OS'
Obviously. Money-grabbing swine, those corporates
Re: Good Thing for Root and other OS'
Right, because that's good for Sprint business, and they won't feel the need to do the same thing AT&T and Verizon did when they switched from unlimited.
Stealing bandwidth is inexcusable, and I hope Sprint joins the party and cracks down on those who are forcing these companies to put caps on their plans. These caps have largely to do with these individuals, stealing bandwidth they're not paying for and aiding in crippling what is provided. Selfish ...
Ironic...
Had a conversation earlier this year with my future brother-in-law, who is a supervisor in one of the Verizon tech call centers. I asked him about data throttling and he said, "It doesn't happen, and never will." I asked him about tiered data on Verizon, and he said, "Rumors have been flying around for years. It's not gonna happen."
Hmm.
Re: Absurd
Agreed.
I have no problems or love with Verizon, but someone switching carriers just because the new phone isn't "new" enough is stupid. Here on the central coast of California, AT&T has the most towers and best coverage, period, and if someone were to get all pissy at AT&T because they bumped a phone release date (or didn't release one) and went to T-Mobile or Sprint because they have "better selection", they'd be stuck with sub-par coverage here. Simple as ...
Re: ATT is on right track
Good idea. Verizon's unlimited plans are awesome and will last forev...wait, what's that? Verizon's switching to tiered data this summer? Oh. My bad.
Works fantastic
Downloaded my update last night and haven't been able to stop playing around with it. Loving the new look. Speed itself is comparable, but the battery life is already significantly improved, and I can actually tell, which is remarkable. The new market look is interesting and will take a bit of getting used to, but it's all a step in the right direction.
Re: It's all about the money
Yep. Photoshop Lite or whatever it's called. Same with iPhone.
Very cool, except...
We've been able to do this for quite a while now already.
Re: Quantum Leap for iOS
I've even seen this in app betas for Android phones and tablets before the Windows 8 announcement. SwiftKey ftw.
The Notifications Bar...it's revolutionary!!!
...oh wait...
Re: Great...and not a single device to run on their LTE....
Or the part where everybody would cry their faces off and go running to their mommies if AT&T released an LTE-capable phone before LTE was available? *coughHSPA+cough*
Re: My Store...
How's it handling LTE so far?
Re: You literally have no idea what you are talking about
Whatever helps you sleep at night, dude :)
Re: You literally have no idea what you are talking about
I beg everyone not to take this as an invitation to get into another philosophical and metaphysical debate about the existence of God (or Santa Claus) on the internet. That is all.
Re: You literally have no idea what you are talking about
All hail Wikipedia, the only source of truth and knowledge on the interwebs, now 100% bias-free and only 95% trolled!
Re: kbps that is
Woah, that's remarkably true for my area too, now that I think about it.

You're cute =)

Re: I agree.
Don't count on it...I'm pretty sure the people who tried to pass this law don't know how to spell "Gewgle" or "SeeNeht".
Re: Who wants a "smallest" phone these days?
My work here is done.
Re: So many smart phones will be out soon, where's the new iphone?!
It won't be.
While I love Samsung's screens...
The names are just getting ridiculous now. First it was AMOLED, then Super AMOLED, now Super AMOLED Plus. What's next, Uber Super AMOLED Plus Extra? And then after that, Beyond Uber Super AMOLED-X Plus Extra (Ultra Edition!)?
Come on, Samsung. We know your screens are amazing. Stop adding words. Thanks.
Re: Who wants a "smallest" phone these days?
It's a trap!
HTML5 =/= the new Flash
Epic fail for RIM, same thing as with iOS. I'm not entirely sure why these companies think that they can completely do away with something that well over 60% of websites online currently use on their websites. It's not going to get outdated anytime soon, and ignoring the huge customer-base opportunity is a mistake. Certainly HTML5 is going places, but Flash won't be gone in the near future at all. If anything, it will continue to be built upon ...
HTML 5 instead of Flash support?
I know that the internet is trying to make HTML 5 more popular, but Flash will never truly be dead, and a huge percentage of websites use Flash-based graphics, interaction, or even full Flash interfacing. They might've not announced it in this one announcement, but what's the likelihood of Blackberry starting to support Flash? Thoughts?
Re: no one
A mom somewhere does.
Re: Cool
H+ 4G coverage is pretty limited right now anyways, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me, as long as they released the update soon and did it right the first time.
Re: I blame it on.....
Apple's announcement of the white iPhone sent a crippling shockwave through all of the fanboys which caused a chain reaction in all of the networks (the pre-tremors were felt with the PlayStation network...). It's true.
I knew it...
It was those freaking gremlins again! Curse you fiends for creating such mayhem!
Works surprisingly well...
Quite better than QuickOffice or whatever that crap is. It synced up perfectly, and is a great step towards better document creation and management on Android phones.
