It will not get pushed to the droid X or any droid for that matter from what we have been told. It is the OS for tablets only.

The shortage of screens is not the reason it was pushed back. It was pushed back due to problems it was having when switching back and forth between 4 and 3g as well as a problem they are having with battery life.

Droid X is the best android device we carry at Verizon currently. I would be a little cautious of getting the thunderbolt since it is the 1st 4g phone and coupled with the fact that it has already been pushed back due to problems.

I wasn't aware that we could do a straight data plan on a phone without talk service. Are they buying the phone at retail cost?

All the problems you said you are having are pretty easily fixed by a couple of minutes on the app store. Hey, it's your money though and some people have the apple fever.

I would suggest the Droid X all day. Larger screen (no it's not too large, there's a reason 4.3 inches is becoming the standard on all top end phones), more free apps (75% compared to 23%), voice to text, free navigation, widgets, etc. The iphone to me just feels extremely limiting when coming from a quality droid like the X.

It hasn't been determined that 4g will be any more expensive. Word from the grape vine says that if anything there would be tiered pricing but those people that have unlimited data plans would be grandfathered in.

Sorry bud but Epik is right. I have had clients ask the same thing and have been informed that there is no way to keep the plan with a 4g phone.

The answer on that is for sure no. The Vortex is only 79.99 though.
