Seriously? So many? T-Mobile only has one 2G only phone on their website for post paid customers to purchase, ONE! and its a refurb Nokia X2 and its FREE. This device was introduced as an upgrade to a 2G only handset so they are definitely moving away from 2G only devices on post paid lines. Plus I am sure customer service would help you with a free upgrade to an 3G compatible handset if you are still clutching your ...

This phone is offered for prepaid. It's big keypad and simple layout will appeal to a certain user. If you buy this phone and lets say they keep pace with AT&T and they shut down their 2G network by 2017, that's over 4 years away! Does anyone really think this device will last 4+ years? It serves a purpose in the market for the pay as you go dumb phone toting 100 minutes a year seniors.

Alltel has no native coverage in PA so you would be using another network and i doubt you could get a local number

Possibly the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Sprint and VZW announced it and there is a good chance Alltel will as well

One thing I am curious about is the license swap that was supposed to happen with US Cell where Alltel got the lower half of Idaho in exchange for the divested properties from the WW deal

Are you really that clueless? :? Alltel is nearly 100% Digital. Analog remains as a backup until 2008. Sprints native network is so sparce, Alltel owns and operates the nations largest wireless network. As for being regional I would much prefer a regional carrier like Alltel or US Cellular with network quality and a great roaming agreement and very competitive pricing vs Sprextels patched together POS network that drops calls and has subpar indoor signal. Right, Sprint would prefer to distract you with fancy add ons, bells and whistles to disguise their lame-a$$ service btw Alltel has the PPC-6700, the Razr and soon the E815 all EV-DO and all available with add-ons and most importantly you can make a call on the freakin' thing without dropping, Sprint bites!!!
