You should be able to switch over with no problems and port your number. You will not get charged an ETF or a deposit. Just go to your local Sprint/Nextel store.

Haha I actually spent a few days looking on how to text message as well (Im a newbie to the 7520 as well). Turns out you cant! This is the biggest downside to it. You can receive them but it doenst tell where it came from. It sucks really bad because I was a huge text messager before this. But oh well. I just tell people to email me at my blackberry.nextel.com account.

Actually is because Sprint was the first one with camera phones and color phones and people have stuck with them since. Its like why no one else's PTT service is or will do well because Nextel is the originator and thats what theyre known for. Nextel's deposits arent bad at all so why arent people flocking to them as much?

I know that. Your phone isnt going to say raoming because with the agreements they have with each other. Sprint's home towers in my area are really NTelos.It would only say roam if it were in a CDMA area but didnt have roaming agreements with anyone.

You dont have to be roaming to be using someone elses towers. Technically you are roaming but since Sprint has agreements with those other carriers then you are not getting charged for roaming. For example, in my area the CDMA towers are Alltel and NTelos but Sprint is offered here and uses those towers.

First of all thats all crap. I have Cingular and live in Central VA and have traveled all up and down VA and never lost a signal, especially in Richmond up to DC. Second, if Verizon didnt have signal then your Sprint phone wouldnt either. They roam off of each others towers and also with Alltel and Ntelos (regional carrier in VA).

You shouldnt have to buy a new phone. If the phone is Cingular branded then you should be able to just pop in a Cingular SIM card and be good to go. Tell them you are migrating to Cingular and already have a Cingular phone. The rep you spoke to clearly does not know what they are doing.

No not even voice will work correctly. The SK2 is 900/1800/1900 mhz. Cingular is 850/1800/1900.

I can promise you from experience that the coverage up in NOVA is superior. Like I mentioned before I have full servce when Im up around that area. Its far better than TDMA.

If Cingular has roaming agreements with that carrier then nothing will happen. The only time you will not have service is when there is absolutely no coverage around.
