lists a charger, but it only appears to hold one battery. My local Radio Shacks don't have batteries (regular or extended) for the A670 yet.
I don't remember where I heard that it will charge a battery in addition to the phone with a battery- but I bought it for about $40 from the Verizon website. ...

I am 100% positive it works too. I have a picture of my friend and me assigned to her entry, and when she calls it shows the picture on the external LCD.
Often times the reps in stores do not know all of the products. Unfortunately, it is always worse when phones first arrive in the stores. In a few weeks they will be able to offer better advice about the phones.

I have the A670 and you can assign pictures from your camera, so that when someone calls you it shows the picture on the external LCD.

first off, the A670 is smaller than the A610. The A610 has no external LCD. I don't believe the A610 has video either- I believe that the A670 is the first phone in the Verizon lineup to have video capabilities.
The A610 is bulky (the hinge makes it that way). One advantage is battery life, which is better than the A670 (at least that's what the guys at the Verizon Store told me).

The Verizon Wireless Store in Colerain (Cincinnati, Ohio) has them, and they went on sale today. I called and they are holding one for me! I will pick it up after work tonight. $199.99 with a $70 rebate.

I spoke with the Colerain Verizon Store (Cincinnati, Ohio), and they say it is launching nationwide tomorrow. But not all stores have them yet.
