Re: So since many of us LOVED this phone after a few months...

I've had my V710 since the hour it went on sale and have loved it ever since. It's a great little phone. Camera? I could not care less. Only use it to snap photos of something I may be shopping for or even the packaging to remember model numbers etc. In a way, I use it as a short-term notebook. The reception is GREAT, rarely have a dropped call, the speakerphone is GREAT, a few software glitches here and there ...

>>If i buy a bluetooth thing for my computer, can i send music [from my computer to my phone]too it via that, and also can I send pictures from my phone to my computer... If i cant, do i have to buy a usb cable. The simplest way is to buy a trans-flash card for the phone (comes with an adapter that is SD card sized), and a card-reader to plug into your computer. Then you just use the card ...

Maybe a master reset? Not sure exactly what that does (haven't seen my owners manual in ages) and you'd need to know what you password is for that, but it MAy do the trick (hopefully without losing any tones or applications/games you may have downloaded) Mike

I haven't done it in over a year, but Bluetooth DUN was the #1 reason for me selecting this phone when I did. I seem to recall it was disabled when you got a flash update from the original software, but I'm thinking they cannot totally disable it until each contract signed has expired (i.e. it should HAVE to work for me until my 2-year agreement is over...this August). I'm sure tough that I am wrong and they can disable ...

I believe the warranty is one year. I do not have my paperwork handy, but I'm pretty sure it's one year. Mike

Re: Changing the outer display

All you can change is the color of that screen, and the color-change comes with a specific design. The color-scheme is changed when you change the color-scheme of the main screen via > Settings > Peronalize > Color Style where the color styles are Moto, Silver, Midnight, Jade, Tangy and Solar. Yep. When in any category in your Phonebook, hit that top-middle button on your keypad (the one with the four dashes), and select Setup, then set the "Sort by" to "Speed No". You'll have to assign the lowest speed dial number to "Mom".

Re: How do you change the background on the outside screen?

You can't. The only changes you can have are when you change your color-scheme on the main screen. The outside screen then changes to a similar color-scheme with some "artwork" you cannot change.

Re: Security: Contacts can only call?? does the v710 have this?

freeq_sirhc said: I would like to know if the v710 offers the feature under security that you can only allow contacts to call and the rest go straight to voice mail??? Looks like you can. My phone, with the software flash/version from the day the phone was released, has Settings > Security > Restrict Calls > enter password/unlock code > Incoming Calls > Allow (choices are All, None, Phonebook) It has the same choices for restricting outgoing calls.

Can't offer any advice on bluetooth headsets, but for the 1.1 vs 1.2 question, I'm betting you can find the answer and a whole lot more at the official website http://www.bluetooth.com/ Mike

reverton said: :x And the car speakerphone designed to fit the V710 isn't on the accessory list... Which one you talking about? If it's either of the two Bluetooth ones (the two available when the V710 was released) they were not designed FOR the V710. They were designed by Moto to be used for all their Bluetooth phones.
