Jul 31, 2010, 1:22 AM

Do you guys know what the best non-smartphone is for syncing Outlook contacts? I don't want to spend $30/month on a data plan, but I would like either a multimedia or regular phone that can sync with my outlook contacts. Thanks.

Nov 18, 2009, 8:30 PM

On Phone Scoop is says that they are identical in dimensions (14mm thin), but at the store the storm 2 felt thinner. Maybe it was just me.

How can you be so sure that software version 5.0 will eliminate lags for the Storm2 but not for the Storm 1?

will firmware updates ever fix the storm
Sep 1, 2009, 10:06 PM
in the BlackBerry Storm 9530 forum

It seems that the firmware updates improve things somewhat, but it is still a slow and unresponsive phone compared to other touch screens like the iPhone. For all you tech people out there, do you think any firmware updates can really make it a fast responding phone? Or is the the phone itself badly structured/made to the point that it can never be greatly improved by SW or firmware updates.

best non-PDA phone for outlook contacts
Jul 26, 2009, 2:00 PM
in the Verizon forum

I would love to get a PDA phone to store contacts and appointments but don't want to pay $30 month for a data plan (will not use email or web). The CS rep told me that I have to get a data plan if I get a PDA phone. Therefore I was wondering if you guys can recommend the best non-PDA phone for me to transfer my Outlook contacts (with addresses) and appointments (ie closest thing to a ...

when will we get an official update
Feb 25, 2009, 1:58 PM
in the BlackBerry Storm 9530 forum

It seems that every week there's an update version of the firmware leaked. However, there's hasn't been an official update from Verizon since last December. Does anyone know if Verizon is planning on releasing an official update anytime in the near future? It seems kind of silly not too with all these leaked versions.

viewing yahoo normally
Feb 3, 2009, 9:03 PM
in the BlackBerry Storm 9530 forum

To view the normal Yahoo webpage I had to change the browser on my Storm to IE or Firefox. However, now I can't click any of the links like Yahoo Movies or Yahoo Finance. When I use the Blackberry browser I get the lame mobile Yahoo webpage, but the few links that are on there actually work. Has anyone successfully gotten the regular Yahoo website to work? My friends that have the cool iPhone can ...

software upgrades vs updated phones
Dec 8, 2008, 1:15 PM
in the BlackBerry Storm 9530 forum

I got the Storm when it first came out and was initially disappointed. However the recent software update helped somewhat and I'm hoping future software updates will help even more. My only concern would be if Blackberry\Verizon start shipping out a new version of the phone in the very near future instead of solely relying on software updates. Does anyone know what the chances of that are? Because in this case I would just rather return ...

bluetooth issues
Nov 24, 2008, 12:37 PM

I have a Jabra VBT185Z and the storm does not seem to recognize it. It did a search and it could not find it. The Jarba is turned and on search mode, but no matter what I do I can't get it to recognize the devise. I even let the Jabra search for the Storm. Do you think I have a bad phone or another issue. Thanks.

With Sirius radio you can log on to their website and listen to their service online. Has anyone tried using their Verizon cell phone and mobile web 2.0 to access Sirius? I don't want to pay $5 a month to see if it works. It would be awesome if it does.

WORD function - need help.
Nov 20, 2006, 7:08 PM

I'm new to LG. Is there a way for the Word function to suggest words as I'm typing the text. With motorola, if I typed a few letters of a work it would suggest the rest of the word. This made texting a lot faster. Maybe I'm overlooking something simple, but is there a way to make this phone do that?

Q as music player and wireless modem - please help!

I am seriously considering buying the Q for two reasons. I want a phone with expandable memory so I can use it as a music player. I've read some of the posts that say you can transfer your songs to this phone via WMP, which is fine. However I was wondering how practical is it as a music player. Can you create/listen to playlists? Can you skip songs if the flip is closed? Can you take it to the gym and use it as a music player? Obviously it's not an iPod, but I wondering if it is practical ...

I had a similar problem, but found out that it was due to my crappy SD card reader/writer. Once I disconnected it from my computer it corrupted some of the files. I found this out when I connected the sd card to the computer after only 5 of my files showed up on my phone. I bought another card reader and it solved the problem.

confused about mp3 player
Jan 28, 2005, 10:38 PM

Sorry I'm not that tech savvy, and am confused. Someone mentioned that this phone doesn't have mp3 player software on it. And then another person mentioned that it comes with stereo headphones and has a mini-sd slot so you can put mp3s on the card. Therefore can you or can't you play mp3 on this phone and listen to it with the headphones provided. I'm not asking about the quality of the sound or ease ...

Your phone will work, but your reception might not be the best. Several months ago, I would have told you not to worry. In california Cingular only operated on 1900 spectrum. However after the merger, it now operates the 850 spectrum(former ATT) too. And this addition has actually helped in Orange County, where I'm from. So now you'll be missing out on a bunch of reception. Sorry
