A friend of mine wants to get an EVO when it comes out on Sprint but has questionable credit. He wants to know if he can go to Sprint and get a pre-screened credit check to see if he is approved or denied now so he doesn't have to wonder for 3 weeks. Also, is it possible to buy the EVO full price and avoid the 2 year contract and credit check? (He did have Sprint around 4 years ...

I imagine that the curve 8900 will arrive at AT&T within a few months, but that one doesn't have 3g, but it does have a better camera (3.2 mp) compared to the Bold's 2.0 mp. It also is smaller. I've heard that the speakers (for the speakerphone) are not as good as the Bold's though.
Does the Q9H have an indicator light or not?
I was led to believe that it has an indicator light in the top right corner, but I can't find this to be the case. I bought a used Q9H from someone on Howard forums, I haven't received it yet, and I was just wondering this. I think it may be a light sensor. So, please "enlighten" me.

That is true. But I think that I would still prefer the xenon flash over the dual LED's. They should put both on a phone, then everyone will be happy.

I agree. I would love to have this phone. I just ordered a Nokia N82 the other day. But I really like this one, too. Though this phone doesn't have the N82's awesome Xenon flash. This is the main reason I didn't go with the N95. Maybe the dual L.E.D.s will be very bright on this phone to help make up for the lack of Xenon.

Not necessarily. I know of several phones with 2.0 megapixel cameras that sell for $150.

All new camera phones should have at least a 2 megapixel camera, period. This phone is pretty cool looking in my opinion, but I won't even consider a phone with a weak camera. Hopefully LG will have an updated one with a 3.2 mp cam, then maybe I'd be interested.

Well, a huge plus for the E71 is that it has a 3.2 megapixel camera as opposed to the Bold's 2.0 megapixel camera, and also, I just learned that the E71 can record video at 30 frames per second!!!! That is awesome. Just like the N95 and N82.
And the fact that I hear the battery in the E71 lasts a long time. It also has a proven operating system.

This is the main reason that I am thinking of NOT upgrading to iPhone 3g! Now that I have found out that it will cost me a lot more per month for pretty much the same functionality, I am just going to keep my current iPhone plan. Well, it is now Version 1.1.3 and still no video recording capabilities for the iPhone. Very disappointing. I guess I am going to buy the new Nokia N82, then. 5 Megapixel camera with video recording at 32 frames per second!! Now that's what I need and want. There is no excuse for Apple to not have video recording on the iPhone by now. I know my complaining won't make a difference, but, oh well.

You say that I should get an ipod, but actually I don't care about playing music on a phone at all. Music is not a very high priority to me, mainly since there are so few songs in the world that I like. Anyways, the iphone's other aspects are what really draws me to it. Like the internet and camera features for example.
I am hoping that Verizon comes out with a really cool phone before the iphone starts ...

I have 20/20 vision. I know exactly the reason, which I explained. I took the phone back yesterday and got a VX-8100. No problem with its screen. I guess I do have sensitive eyes. Dude, Best Buy has it for $150 after instant rebates until 12/31/05! I am tempted to buy it too. This is the best price that I have seen for this phone so far.
