the BB by me, in Westbury NY, had one on display yesterday. i'm not sure if they had them in stock, but there definitely was one on display with the other Verizon phones, so if anyone here is in the area maybe they can confirm if they're in stock or not...

Re: Who knows how to make the keys stay backlit longer?
Sep 16, 2004, 9:26 PM

no, you can not adjust the volume on the Vib & High setting, that would be why it's called Vib & HIGH... and why does the title of the post have absolutley nothing to do with what you asked in the post? to answer the title, no, there's no way to change the lenght of time the keypad stays on. it only stays on for 7 seconds, this was however adressed and changed on the 3200 and 7000, i've never ...

Sep 16, 2004, 9:15 PM

that usually happens for 2 reasons: 1. when the file size of the ringtone is too large. 2. when you send a ringtones to replace existing ringtones (usually the default 5 that will never be removed no matter how many times you delete them) with bitpim. if you delete any of the ringtones through the phone, without using bitpim, this will happen when you restart the phone. you will see the ringer name and no audio will play. one way to ...

it is a ditial only phone, so no it doesn't offer analog service. and as far as battery life goes, it honestly depends. i have had times when i charged it in the morning and then had 3 seperate hour long phone calls and i had 1 bar left, which is about right. there have been other times when it was in standy for a few days and had an hour long conversation and then it also went down ...

actually, there is a legit one up for auction now for over $600.00 that ends in about 20 hours. just make sure it's actually listed under the mobile phone catagory, anything else is a hacked account and fake. i hate to break it to you, but Ecko is not the only one that's testing out the phone...

the latest one that is available is version 06, the original one was was verion 05. so you would have either one of those. the only way to update it is to go into a VZW store and have one of the tech guys update it for you, there is no other way for you to do it and it will take about a half hour minus the line. version 07 is currently being tested, so if it passes ...

Re: Weird things and the VX7000
Jun 27, 2004, 6:29 PM
in the LG VX-7000 forum

the original release date of the 7000 was 06.25 to launch along with video messaging. some of the VZW stores that received them were not aware that the release date was in-fact changed to 07.01, so they were put out and sold. that's why some people have seen them in some stores and others have not, and why they are not listed on the VZW website...

i noticed some are much louder on my PC than they are on my phone after they are sent, but that's about it. if you want, you can edit the audio using anvil studio to make it louder. the free trial is available at www.download.com and it works pretty good from what i hear. that's really all you can do about it...

it could also be a bad battery or one of the contacts may not not actaully be making contact. take it into a VZW store if you can, and have them check out the battery and the contacts. if neither of those are the problems, make a *22899 send call and it shouls hopefully correct it. if not, then if i was you i would do a warranty exchange if it's under a year old. if the phone re-starts, ...

i also had a star-tac, but that was back in 1999 when analog was the best and moto phones were the best. times DO change and this IS 5-years later. back then, AT&T had the best mobile converage on the planet. only a few months ago they were sold. why? because they couldn't cut the mustard anymore, it was the only logical solution. are you going to sign a contract with someone that was just sold because at ...

you need to purchase a usb data cable, which can be found at Radio Shack for about $21.00, and download BitPim for free from the web by doing a search on google. if you would like a how-to as far as doing it, follow the link http://home.nycap.rr.com/stopcbt/vx6000.html and that will help you out with pretty much anything you may need to know. if you have any other questions, register at www.howardforums.com for free and visit the LG and Verizon ...

try switching the auto volume from off to on, that always helps expecially if you are on the road. menu, 9, 5, 6... also, you changed the phone 3 times but have you thought it may have actually been the headset. some work better than others with different phones, and on top of that yours may be deffective to boot. i use the jabra earwave headset with the 6000 and it works awesome. it's louder than most of the others ...

if it's re-booting, as in shutting off then turning back on, mine did it twice on back-to-back nights. i updated my PRL (*228 send, option 2) the next day and it hasn't done it since, and this was about a month ago... i know someone else that did it and it stopped doing it as well and i also know someone who tried it and it didn't help. try it and see what happens, it should cause it to stop. ...

it's not necessary. all verizon phones are covered for 1-year against manufactures defects. if you have a problem with the phone, bring it in and they can look up your account and tell when the phone was added to the account to see if it's within that time frame...

Re: Digit dialing feature
Jun 13, 2004, 3:09 AM

maybe it has something to do with the software update if you have the newer version? i had a 4500 with the orginal s/w version and my digit-dial worked fine... i know there was one bug already discovered with the update, if you try to edit your voice mailbox number it won't let you use the softkey to change from 123 to ABC to add the letter T to add a soft pause. if you already added it on a ...

the only reason a customer should dial *228 to use option 2 to update the PRL, or prefered roaming list. actually, the phone is also re-programed during that process as well, it's part up the update process. option 1 is really only for when you purchase or activate a new phone, that is what the salesperson dials to first program a new phone before he/she hands it to you...

i had both the 4500 and 6000. i tried the 4500 for 2 weeks and it was good. the speakerphone was very good, but that's not the only good thing about the phone. the digit-dial is awesome, driving mode is excellent, the battery life is good, and it's got the best headset compatablilty of the phones you mentioned. also, you can open and close the flip without taking the phone out of the holster. the only downside that i ...

it should work if you send it to XXXXXXXXXX@vzwpix.com, XXXXXXXXXX being your 10 digit cell phone number, and attach it. it works everytime for me. one thing though, make sure the ringer is under 30k or it will NOT work. maybe that was your problem?

Re: ESN ?

um, this is CDMA, there is NO gsm card. all you have to do is call VZW when you have the phone in your hands to do the esn switch. then, after they switch it, all you have to do is dial *228 and option 1 to program it. in about a minute it should be 100% functionable...

Re: vibrate only mode
May 19, 2004, 3:08 AM
in the LG VX-4600 forum

you are right about manner mode, but they actually DO offer both "vibrate only" and manner mode on the 6000. i believe they stopped offering both with the release of the 4500. the difference is that manner mode will cause ANY AND ALL incoming allerts to vibrate, while "vibrate only" was given as an option to ONLY have incoming calls vibrate. that way, if a user wanted to, they could set incoming calls to vibrate and messages to ring ...

if it was very hot in the car, then it SHOULD have turned off. cellular phones should NOT be left in a parked car for ANY amount of time, considering the inside of a car can easily go over 100 degrees in a few minutes when parked in the sun in the summer. and usually, when subject to high temperatures, a phone WILL shut of and normally the ONLY way to get it to re-start is to remove the ...

it's actually pretty common on flip phones, especially LG's, if you DON'T use the belt clip. i keep my phone in my pocket, and when i sit down i know there is pressure being put on the phone because the material doesn't give. if you ARE using the belt clip, then it shouldn't really happen. the ONLY way to really prevent it from happening is if you get a leather case with the clear protective covering over the inside ...

Re: dropped calls

lovely was right though. you should dial *228 send, then option 2 to update your PRL (prefered roaming list) every 30-45 days. if you travel more, at least up date it once a month.

i live on LI, but i am in NYC all the time and i never have a problem with Verizon service. i am using a different phone than you, the lg 6000, but the only time i have ever had a dropped call was because of the other persons carrier. the only thing that happens to me every once in a while, about once ever week or two, is an echo. everything i say will echo in the earpiece ...

you can email them to your phone if you don't feel like paying for them through get it now. search the web to find some and save them to your hd. then just email to your phone as an attachment and send it to your10digitcellphonenumber@vzwpix.com (with no subject and description) and you should get it in about 10 seconds. it will cost you .25 cents for a pix message, even though it's a ringer and not a picture. one ...

ok, i had a simlar problem a few days after i sent a bunch of text messages. first, call VZW and make sure pix messaging is activated on your account. second, if you are e-mailing a picture to your phone (with pix messaging activated) and you are NOT receiving it for ANY reason (considering file size of the picture DOESN'T matter no matter what anyone at VZW tells you) it's a data transfer issue and it DOES and WILL ...

actually, they wouldn't have given him a replacement phone on the spot with a damaged phone that was almost 2 years old. and all of the VZW stores by me, in NY, don't offer loaner phones anymore. and the only way he would have had the phone shipped to him in 2 days is if it was covered by insurance, which i didn't remember reading and i highly doubt he had. with that said, how the hell could you ...
