THANK YOU!!! If this was an actual issue of restricting freedoms like SOPA or NDAA I would agree with everything you guys are saying, but it's not! This is a safety guideline no different than drinking and driving, speed limits, stop signs, right of way rules, and basically the entire DMV code. If you are going to argue that you should have the right to text, tweet, and Facebook while driving and putting other people in danger, then you should ...

Stop using unrealistic fantasies to justify your argument. Please explain how mandating a helmet would in any way be justified in keeping people safe. Other than from falling space peanuts I don't see what you would be protecting yourself from. Now watch closely as I use your same argument technique against you. If someone broke into your house wouldn't you call 911? Isn't the police force a government provided service for the SAFETY of it's citizens? Are speed limits ...

Would you guys mind actually read the article before trying to debate over this. They want to restrict the use of "certain SOCIAL features" while the car is in motion. So yes you can still use your phone, text, and email. But you can't check your facebook when you're driving. That sweet onscreen navigation feature also doubles as a web browser/FB/ Twitter/ G+. Which is what will be restricted when driving not the use of a phone as an actual ...

I have to disagree on this one. I live in California where it is already illegal to be on the phone without a handsfree. I support this because it keeps me safe. It's simply a safety enforcement such as a speed limit. And come on let's be honest we all know how distracted we are when we try to read a text while on the freeway or even send one. The world is changing. Yesterday I met a 12 ...

nope... this was on HSPA+ I watched it was pretty funny to see. LTE is faster than HSPA+ from all of my experience but 4g is still new in my area so LTE hasn't been flooded with users yet

I can agree with you on this point. I work for Verizon Indirect and I was furious when I heard that Verizon was going away from unlimited data, I wasn't worried about my usage being on an existing unlimited plan but what hurt is the selling tool. I use my phone all day, everyday. Playing online poker at work, reading forums, streaming pandora to our bluetooth speaker at work, then in my car, then at home. I use it ...

I have to disagree actually. Because not only is Verizon removing the 1 yr contract option but a few months ago they also removed the annual upgrade. Most people don't even realize they are using an annual upgrade on a yearly basis and with both of these options now gone. you get stuck with a phone for 20 months unless you want to buy a phone outright. I think Verizon made a very poor choice with this decision.

yeah it won't be long until ATT has to launch a faux g network so they can compete. We all know it has nothing to do with actual speeds. It's all about the marketing and with ATT not saying "we have 4g too" their customers are going to start getting upset. I honestly with the FCC would step in on this one and say no you can't call it 4g without 4g speeds that's straight up false advertising in ...

if you don't see squashing competition and getting more customers as a "good business practice" then I don't know what else is? For the customer I'm not saying it's a good thing but let's be realistic here. If you were the CEO of ATT and found a way to impede business for metro, cricket, ztalk, mountain cellular....(the little guys) would it not be perfectly logical to shut them down and continue to make millions? business is cutthroat.

it's not a monopoly it's simply good business practice. There are easily 4 major carriers VZW ATT TMO and Sprint. that doesn't spell monopoly especially considering VZW is lowering their prices to compete.

you really should stop bashing on carriers like sprint, metro, cricket, boost. it's those options that keep monthly billing tolerable. Let's be honest if verizon and AT&T were the only providers they would just stay with the same pricing. when people don't have the option to switch to an unlimited EVERYTHING plan for 40 bucks the bigger companies have no reason to reduce pricing other than the occasional promotional offer. without these little guys we'd all be paying out ...
