Try this 1. Settings 2. Phone 3. Voice Calls 4. Call Forwarding 5. No Reply 6. Forward After - Change this setting and see if that helps.

Automatically keeps lighting up
Jan 29, 2008, 3:16 PM
in the Samsung BlackJack SGH-i607 forum

So I recently upgraded my Blackjack to WM6. But since then I have noticed that the Blackjack automatically likes to light up (keys backlit and screen as well) automatically. No messages, nothing. The things that I have running at any given time are OctroTalk (used to have this even on WM5) and Messaging and ActiveSync (sycned to Exchange as well as Google IMAP). Now when I use Salling Clicker at home - it used to light up automatically - and I ...

Help with Data Plans on Cingular for this phone - please
Oct 20, 2006, 11:19 AM
in the Nokia N80 forum

So I have the N80 coming to me first week of november. I expect to use it as a fairly simple user - mostly voice, browsing and multiple pop 3 accounts for email. So I was trying to figure out which data plan would work best for me - obviously unlimited would be the best way to go. But even in unlimited I noticed Cingular seems to have a wide variety There 1. Data Connect Unlimited for $45 a month 2. SmartPhone COnnect ...

Thanks to Cingular not knowing what they are doing - my business is currently going on and on with T-Mo - Cingular is losing out!!! (of course I am just a drop in the ocean!)

Just spoke to a Cingular Rep about ordering a 6230. He said that its been discontinued because the 6230i should be out in 2 weeks. Told him I have read it wont be out until July - he says - according to what he has heard it should be within 2 weeks - definitely within April. Now that does go against what a lot of people in this forum have said - but I am going to hold off until APril ...

Re: Buying this phone from Amazon
Apr 11, 2005, 2:45 PM
in the Nokia 6230 forum

Is that a normal practice of these dealers to sell refurbed phones? The previous phones i have had from Amazon (when I have been on T-Mo) have been all new. Haven't gone to Letstalk.com ever - but I would assume they are running a similar business model to Amazon when it comes to cell phones. How is it that they are able to offer suchhuge discounts that the carriers themselves can't? I do really want to get the 6230 but as of ...

Buying this phone from Amazon
Apr 5, 2005, 1:50 PM
in the Nokia 6230 forum

So I just had a chat with a Cingular agent - who was trying to convince me that it is better in my interest to buy the phone from them directly than going with a third party. Apparently he cant tell me why - but if I did my due diligence I would figure out its better with them. The way I see it is Buy from Cingular with 2 year contract Cost : $139 Buy from amazon (rebate does NOT require ...

Re: Airplane vs. MP3
Mar 7, 2005, 3:02 PM
in the Nokia 6230 forum

Terry: Turning the phone off is a way around the regulation. The rule asks you to turn it off so that there is no communication between the phone and the network. By not having it ring - you arent stopping communication. For instance you could still receive messages (SMS) from the network. So as per the regulation - that is still unsafe. Now whether they really need to stop communication or not is a completely different argument all together :D

Bluetooth Phone Management Software
Jul 27, 2004, 2:30 PM
in the Sony Ericsson forum

I was amazed that I never found a link to this software from phonescoop.com Anyway if you guys check out http://fma.sourceforge.net/ - FloAt Mobile Agent is an AMAZING software that synchronizes your phone contacts with Outlook and the phone over bluetooth. It also allows you to send and receive messages from the PC, as well as make and receive calls. They are currently working like crazy to keep adding to it. They as yet do not support calendar updates. But it might come ...

Unlocking a T610
Jul 27, 2004, 2:26 PM
in the Sony Ericsson forum

So I have had a couple of T610s with T-mobile so far. And they have been kind enough to send me the unlock codes for the phones whenever I have asked them. The only information that they have needed from me is the IMEI number. Now that led me to think - is there a not so publicly available algorithm that is used to use the 1. IMEI Code 2. Carrier Code 3. (some other stuff that I don't know about) and then output ...

Thanks Aleq! Unfortunately the account that I am keeping is the newer one, so my sim is less than a year old. That would have been a swell solution if that were it! I would have never thought of that!!! Even other T-Mo customers that I know around here are complaining about the drop in service. Pretty much all over the Northern VA area.

I thouht so too - but I seem to have had a noticeable decrease in reception in the Washington DC area. Even on one of the MOST major interstates over here I-66 - there are patches where the signal just plummets! (wasnt so before!) Q - Does the number of people served by a single cell affect signal strength? Or is there a situation that if you get a singal from a tower then thats going to be as good ...

Re: Can you buy just service with T-Mobile?
Jun 16, 2004, 12:34 PM
in the T-Mobile forum

JD - My point is that there should be NO CONTRACT at all if I am signing up ONLY for service. I have a phone with Starhub (provider in Singapore). I havent bought a phone from them but just the service and I am on a month to month basis. But I also know that if my phone craps out I can go and get a phone from them at their deeply discounted rates - but the catch is that, ...

Re: Can you buy just service with T-Mobile?
Jun 16, 2004, 11:32 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

Correct me if I am wrong 1. TMo makes money on the service NOT the phone 2. The reason for contracts is to make sure they recover at least SOME of the money lost on the discount on the phone. So if the above two are true - then why not just sell an active sim without a contract and just make money - without the initial loss? More customers would be willing to do that. Outside the US a lot of ...

Not that this is a complaint post - just something that happened with me at TMo that I thought I should share. Hopefully I can resolve it soon enough Alright I guess I spoke too much good too soon. I used to sing praises of T-Mobile on this forum until sometime back. But now with the advent of Summer and leaves springing up on the trees - I have lost my signal - TOTALLY! Try to get the phone to switch from one bluetooth device to another and then it starts to reset itself automatically every now and then. Really frustrates me - maybe its just my phone. In terms of competition I meant more that they need to adopt new stuff faster. They have been lagging so far behind in bluetooth adoption it isn't funny! Clam shell designs is another thing. They have been steadily losing market share and their profit forecasts are way ...

I am so glad I didn't wait around for the 6230. Who in T-Mobile decides which phones to get??? That team seems to be doing such an awful job at picking Nokia phones! 6010 - What is that crap piece of phone good for? WHOA! I sure hope you don't work for T-Mobile! I purchased the 2.99, 300 SMS bucket. And for the last couple of years I have not paid for sending an international SMS. Where did you read that it is supposed to be 0.15?

Re: international text messaging

I have been told that GSM Text messaging depends on the operator-operator linkups. Now I really doubt that I used to be able to send text messages from T-Mobile to a at least four operators in India, 3 in Singapore and a couple in the UK. But until some time back I could NOT receive messages from 1 of the same operator in Singapore, and one operator in India. But lately (last 8 months) or so almost anybody I messages receives it ...

Hey - i look at it this way - i should be paid by T-mobile for my referrals! In the last 1 month itself I have got 3 people to sign up/switch to T-mobile. So despite my trying to save my money - I am getting other more normal customers to them - who they can fleece a little bit for all i care! :P

:D :D :D Now if only I could get through to AWS CSRs to ask about this before I lost my signal by moving 2 feet in any direction! :P :P :P Seriously though - I am impressed with the capability of the technology to know the strength of the signals at specific areas - and know the exact distance from their to a dead spot! NICE!!!

Hey! Any chance of getting an idea of the spread of these new cell sites? I also remember reading a report on Deutsch Telecom and how T-Mobile USA is the one child doing fairly well. So I kinda agree on the hypothesis that a buy out is unlikely. It would be crappy if it were to happen. :( :(

:D :D wouldn't you love to be paid to do anything you do - say brush your teeth in the morning? And when the possibility actually exists - then why not? The telecom companies discount things so much that dealers such as amazon give you money back after rebate - thats literally paying me to use their service, right?

It comes down to the $ value you put on the extra 1 year contract that you have to sign with ATTWS. It surely is way more than $50 - which would make T-Mobile a lot cheaper. Gotta compare apples to apples :) Selection - TOTALLY Agree - ATTWS and Cingular have far more choice than T-Mobile. Absolutely NO ARGUMENTS there.

Moobak: Firstly if you took it personally then I do apologize. I have this slight ill feeling toward ATTWS - you obviously saw that in my post - but I never meant it to you directly or indirectly. Ah! Where do I start! This post seems so much like a bait to bash ATT! Let me just list a few things that customers such as me find useful! 1. For the same discount on phones I much rather sign only a 1 year contract (T-Mobile) as opposed to a 2 year contract (ATTWS) 2. Customer Service - a. Hold times waiting for a ATT CSR are MUCH longer than T-Mobile b. The sample space of ATTWS CSRs that I had to ...
