Maybe you know something about net neutrality that I don't. But from what I understand, it's not about re-directing traffic to preferred vendors. It's about limiting bandwidth or filtering traffic based on traffic type. When data packets are transferred, the header data in them can identify what type of packet it is and what it is for (ex: http, ssh, ping, etc.). Currently, there are some ISPs that THROTTLE or limit the ammount of available bandwidth for ...

I think this is another attempt at radio shack, sorry, THE Shack, to hang in the brick and mortar retail arena. I worked for them back in 2004/2005 and I could really see things starting to shift back then. Why they let go of Verizon (who paid WAY WAY more than sprint per new activation/upgrade) still escapes me. Maybe someone can fill me in on that. But beyond that point, they are trying to compete ...

Just because a service is fast enough for VOIP does not mean that it can handle VOIP. For VOIP to be successful, you have to have very little packet loss, and very little jitter. Jitter is the difference in the time it takes packets to reach their destination or the difference between pings. By default, VOIP such as SIP and IAX typically build in about a 30ms voice buffer to accomodate for varrying responce times. When your ...

To do ringtones with bitpim, you will first need the data cable that verizon sells. Install the drivers, install bitpim, connect the phone, start bitpim. Bitpim will recognize it as "Other CDMA Phone". Under the View menu, make sure "View FileSystem" is checked. Next, in the category tree on the left, select file system. My version of 98 did, as did my retail version of 95. My OEM verison of 95 did not as the manufacturer removed it. As for 3.11, they didn't start bundling it until 95. 95 and 98 were the only two versions (and a few NT) to include office. The lawsuit was filed before 2000 came out so they stopped after 98SE.

I never said that this was monopoly abuse or that it was forced. I was making the assumpition due to the increase in "partnerships" that cingular is making. How does microsoft apply? It was only a few years ago that Office was included with windows. However after loosing a anti-trust lawsuit, it is no longer bundled with windows. No I'm not missing the point. If you have that 800MHz spectrum of iDEN, you can't jsut convert it over to say 1900MHz CDMA. They reside in two completly different spectrums. The wole reason that they do these auction is because each area or market can only have so many providers in a given spectrum. If an area is at capacity for a given spectrum then you cant add more. No, when a carrier wants to put up more towers in new areas, or convert existing towers to a differnt type they have to clear it and buy the liscense to use those frequencies in the area.
