I don't think Kyocera has ever tried to market their phones as anything other than entry level units.

certain apps have been designed to run on both screen, like the web browser, but a market launch will show how well this will work. i'm sure the extra battery strongly will come in handy , but no excuse for poor battery life.

Seems odd that they would do this move while in Canada , and the Canadaian GSM/HSPA providers, they offer it unlocked and contract free if you want.

Snayo pro 700 and the 7050 are and were great phones. kyocera doesn't make anything that stands out.

Kyovera Corp owns Sanyo and the Kyocera brand. So the Phone was made by Sanyo but they are owned by kyocera.
