Re: Which phone has best speakerphone? My LG Glance is tinny.

Lorna, What phone did you end up with? I tested from the store 3 different phones using the speakers. The Barrage, the samsung convoy and the Casio rock. I made calls to another phone guy to make the comparisons. Conclusions: The Barrage speaker was ok but not as loud as the the Samsung which was the loudest of the three. The samsung also had more talk power. The rock was ok and louder than the Barrage with it's speaker, however ...

I have not listened to the LG'S, but I can tell you that the V325's speaker is not that loud. Wish they could boost up the volume on the speakerphone and the earpiece on a software upgrade.

I have tried two kinds of Belkin headsets and people say it sounds bad. I prefer an in ear type that has a button to answer, end and activate voice dial. Anyone have any luck with a good Plantronics type?

I don't have any dust in mine. Maybe yours is a defective phone. I would definitely take it back to the store and show them.

I have two 325's and found that the phone gets excellent reception and far better than my LG4500. I know the signal bar meter is not very generous on the 325's, but don't go by that. Both mine are the same. Stingy signal meter only, the reception is very good. If you are still concerned, with the meter, then take it into the VZW store and compare it to a working display model.

Yes you can make a voice recording and set it as a ring tone. If it doesn't come out loud enough, put the phone into the speaker phone mode (this boosts the mic)and record it that way. I can't help you with the MP3 question, sorry.

To keep the display lit for about one minute is the best I can do to help you. Go to menu, settings and tools, initial setup, brightness. Change the brightness from zero up to any other number (1-6) hit the ok soft key to save it. You will notice that your display will stay on to about one minute. This will not effect the back light on the keypad. As far as leaving the charger hooked up, I ...

Its a common problem with this phone. I found that if you power off the phone before you plug in the charger and leave it off during the charge, it will always work ok.

I have a problem on mine where the screen never shut off causing my battery to drain. I found out that if I put the screen brightness anything higher than zero, then it would not time out to the specified ten seconds, 20 secs, etc. I also have a charge issue. If the phone is powered on and you charge it, the battery Icon shows that it is charging, but sometime its a false indication, because it ...

No it won't activate voice dialing. It will redial the last number, or end a call.

If someone is using a headset with a pushbutton on it, I a have a question for you. If you press the button while the phone is idle, does it activate voice dialing? I think it might be like the 4500 where it does not. Using the 4500 with a pushbutton headset allows you to answer a call, redial a call and hang up a call by pushing a button on the headset.

I also posted this question on the HOFO. Looks like it can be done. Here is a copy of one of the replies. " Voice Activation Dialing will work. I bought the headset off the Samsung web site (listed under the a670 section of accessories), so I can't vouch for other headsets with buttons. But I had to make an adjustment on the phone to make it work - Under Menu, (9) Voice (3) Voice Setup (1) Set Active Choose the last option, ...

If anyone is using a head set with a push button on it, what effect does it have on the phone when its pressed with the flip closed? Specifically does it activate the voice command? Can the button also be used to hang up the call?

Re: Does voice command cost anything?

No it does not cost anything. Its the phone itself that has the feature, not the network. The voice that prompts you for your call comes from the phone itself, even before you connect with the cell network.

I think you should get more than that. Keep in mind that using the speaker a lot will use up more power. Try allowing the battery to discharge totally till the phone shuts itself off. Then a little while later, recharge it to full capacity. Do this discharge/charge routine a couple of times. If it doesn't help, I would insist on a new battery. Tell them the routine you followed above did not help.

I don't know if this one is any better than the one you use. Walmart sells one with on/off button that I use. Its made by Belkin and costs about 14 bucks. It has a flexible extended silver colored boom mic. The tip of the mic is shaped like a lead bullet tip and dark grey in color. The cord is light gray. Pressing the button will end the call with phone closed. If phone is just idle and ...

SJ, Yes, you do have to turn it back on. That kinda stinks. I didn't think the phone would not remember what setting you left speaker in. Looks like that would be another bug to fix if they ever update the software. That driving mode voice that announces the callers name is kind of crude and hard to understand at times in the car.

Shawn, Instead of using the driving mode. Put the phone into the normal mode with the speaker turned on. Then set up your phone to auto answer after 3 rings. You can do this by menu 9-5-3. Keep the clam closed. When a call comes in it will ring your favorite tunes and then go off hook to answer the call after the specified # of rings that you entered above. It will not ...

I just checked the charger that came with the phone and when the phone is in it you will notice that there is 1/8 to 1/4 inch space below the standard battery. I think this extra space is to accomodate the thicker extended battery. The LG person might have been mistaken. :?
