Nobody Want's to Copy Cingular's ROLLOVER
With all the new trends, carriers copying each others promotions, it's funny that no one has tried to copy Cingular's rollover. So many companies bank on the fact that 85% of there customers will go over their anytime minutes over the length of their contracts. That's why ROLLOVER is the best value in wireless. :)
Re: Another POS
Creative Zen Micro!
Re: Boring
You can't compare EDGE to EVDO. EDGE is 2g and EVDO is 3g. Compare it to UMTS/HDSPA.

there was only one thing that needed to be fixed on the x497, and it was that damn volume button. if that isnt fixed, samsung should stop making phones.
I can tell you another thing that needs to be changed. The RECEPTION! Just like all other Samsung's for Cingular, the reception is horrible. My stores actually stopped selling it because all of our customers were returning it. Samsung needs to work on their reception period.
Re: uhhh oh!
Actually, the sales location cost for Cingular agents has the Pink RAZR at the same price as the black and silver razrs. The cost is $260.00.
Sony Ericsson was selling this 3 years ago.
You can find them on ebay. They will only work with SE phones though.
Re: Is there even a market for this type of phone
It's going to be 50 bucks on Go Phone
Re: Possibly a new go phone?
Yes, actually it is on the the new Feb/Mar. pricing matrix. It will only be 50 bucks!!
Go Phone
I see on the new pricing matrix that this will be a go phone. It will only be 120.00. That's a good deal.
Re: vs. Motoroal Q
If you had a GSM phones you could just swap the sim between the razr and the treo. What a great technology!
What does this mean for the V3i???
Will it still have itunes software, or will it have this new OS and more memory capability?
Re: $60--promotion price--a month?
I pay around $45 for my cable internet. I could see paying a few dollars more for a service I can take anywhere, and use anywhere, at least when they launch 3g in my area (Madison, WI)
Re: Available 4th Quarter????
Just a good upgrade to an already great phone. It may include wifi for sbc/att by the time it comes out.
Stores?
What storeswill be selling the service?
Re: Maybe a good replacement for the V180??
It had a glitch in the UI when you scrolled through the addy book too fast. It was only a problem on the 6230's with ENS.
Re: Maybe a good replacement for the V180??
No, not in time, Cingular just started testing it last week. Probably Jan/Feb
Re: Why would anyone buy this?
The phone will have Media Net Live Ticker. So you can sell the customer an unlimited data plan. More $$ in your pocket. And c-net rated the V180 as the best basic cell phone. I agree the 180 wasn't the best phone.
Re: Why not just a new name.
I think I will look better in blue anyways.
Re: 911 Button??
This would be a good phone for stoners. Emergency button = pizza!
911 Button??
Is that red button for emergency use? I don't think that is such a good idea. Kids will be pushing it all the time.
Re: Expandable memory ???
You are thinkngof the V3i. Cingular will be carrying it. It will also have I-Tunes.
Re: Wow!
No 3g!!
Re: Cellular One
I'm In Madison, WI. There is a very small GSM carrier based out of Green Bay called Airdigm/Einstein PCS. Currently T-Mo only has coverage in the Milwaukee area. If they purchase Einstein they will have a lot of coverage and towers in WI.
Re: This isn't a new phone
This phone was available through Einstein PCS about 6 months ago. I don't think they sold many, and they have discontinued it.
Re: Nice and simple
Because the global market share is still 80% GSM, and company's like Kyocera are selling cheaper entry level phones to Verizon, Alltel, USC, etc/
Re: Nice and simple
It's actually replacing the 3120.
Re: solid.
Not sure, I was at a Cingular holiday kick-off event. Probably though.
solid.
Nokia rep says Cingular is testibng it right now. It will replace the 3100/3120 very soon. That's why the 3120 is free starting 11/1.
Re: 8100 without balls
I think it's better than the 8100.

Universal Mobile Telecommunications System/Wideband Code Division Multiple Access
Peak data rates of more than 2 Mbps. When UMTS?W-CDMA is not available customers can fall back to EDGE.
CDMA...o far behind
The RAZR has been out for a year now. How can you justify the hype? All digital...hah! Spint has the smallest digital network of any national carrier. And the best part is that Spint is done expanding. Robotic voices?? GSM voice quality is superior to CDMA, just like Cingy is superior over Sprint.
Re: This phone Sux! U suck!
Your comments are worthless. Do you actually think every phone needs to have every option available. Samsung has a seperate PTT phone. I personally like the grayscale outside display, it is easier to read outdoors. There won't be a lot of UMTS phones until the network covers enough markets also. There will never be a phone that has every possible feature you listed. And if a manufacturer did I don't think Cingular would ever carry it. All this phone ...

Re: Not so thrilling 8O
This phone will probably debut at $399.99 with a $100 Mail-In Rebate. I will be receiving one of these fine phones with my current participation in the Five Bar SE contest that is currently going on. Any Cingular Agent can join. The contest ends Oct. 14.

Re: PTT Delayed again
I was at a PTT demo/meeting today and everyone had the LG and no one could get the damn things to work. The LG is also one big, ugly phone.
Re: Please do a Skype Review
Why don't you do it?
Re: Question
Cingular's plan is Nationwide $79.99 unlt'd. Int'l access is under 2 cents per kb. The aircard is also free w/2 yr agreement. EDGE coverage where ever you travel.
Re: Question
Cingular does offer int'l data roaming. The cost is just under 2 cents per kilobyte.
Website that catalogs old AMPS and TDMA phones??
Does anyone know of any good websites showing old models of phones and their specs from company's like Oki, Diamond-Tel, Sony, Motorola, etc? Thanks
Re: SE s710 vs. ROKR
The S710a can only handle, a 128mb memory stick. Also they only currently go up to 512mb on trans flash memory.
