I think it is important to note that the 22gb cap for deprioritization is shared and not per line, from the info I gathered. That can surely be a problem for family accounts.

I think you are confused on the details. First, the international roaming is 256kbps, talking about speed, not 256 mb total data. The data would be unlimited at that speed. 2nd, on the new $95 plan, one would get unlimited lte hotspot, which is better than the 14 gb

Yep, T Mobile should not offer any promotions at all until its network is up to your standard :/ Seriously, what was the need to write that? It just seems as an unnecessary opportunity to get a jab in.

How are they allowed to promote unlimited wifi??
Nov 2, 2014, 10:23 AM
in the Article: Madstar Mobile Latest Sprint MVNO Looking to Disrupt forum

On some Madstar's plans, it list unlimited wifi (not wifi calling) as a plan feature, when that has nothing to do with anything its provides, as an unactivated phone can connect to wifi for internet. How are companies like this able to advertise unlimited WiFi as something they provide, when the claim is blatantly false and deceptive? This + the ridiculously expensive rate plans makes me hope Madstar doesn't even make it off the ground.

And besides the normal price difference between the 2 carriers, remember, with equip installments, the voice plan is even cheaper because the subsidy was removed from the price of the plan. Calculate that each mo too. There is no way that removing equipment subsidy, removing contracts, etfs, lowering the plan due to no subsidies, but having equipment installments is a worse deal for the consumer.

in the Article: T-Mobile Kills Overage Charges, Challenges Others to Follow forum

I hate to get into this, but i couldn't resist when reading the responses. The difference between the traditional contracts and equip installments is very simple: On contracts: I can prepay all i want for the monthly plan, but i still have to keep it for 24 mo or get charged 175-350 etf (even though plan was paid). With equip installments there is no etf. So, if you pay the equip off early, there is no additional fee to pay. Honestly ...

Sep 15, 2013, 7:31 PM
in the U.S. Cellular forum

Well the reason I ask that is because it seems that this is a little different. It was advertised that customers could sign up for one and done contracts and be able to upgrade w/o contracts in the future., but they never received the benefit from it. To me it is like Sprint saying "we are offering unlimited data for life", and shortly after saying "no more unlimited data, because rates can change w/o notice. To me, ...

Since US Cellular had the "one and done" plans, but then decided to eliminate it later and go back to contracts, do you think that the customers who signed up because of this will have a class action lawsuit?

in the Article: T-Mobile Offering All Phones for $0 Down forum

I dont think people were bashing ATT and VZ because their programs were not as cheap as TMo. They were bashing because customers are getting double charged for their devices, but under the disguise that they are good programs for the customers. But for TMo, they actually reduced the price of their plans (Value Plans) to add the phone program. That is the difference. It is not a "who is cheaper?" argument. It is a ...

Ultimately I agree with where you concluded, as I think the best option is to buy an unlocked phone also... However, I think it is safe to say that T-Mobile's model is more consumer friendly than the others, and even with financing the phone, their plans are still more economical.. The signal part...depends on where you are...some places it does suck and others it is great.. But explain how it is baloney saying that the subsidy is built into the price of ...

in the Article: Verizon Edge Upgrade Program Goes Live August 25 forum

Do you really think that they were losing money before these new handset programs? The point I am making, which I do not think is a hard one to understand, is that their rate plan prices have the cost for the subsidy built in. If they now want you to also pay full price for your device, while keeping the plan the same price, then in reality, they are charging twice for the device... I am explaining it ...

Jul 18, 2013, 1:19 PM
in the Article: Verizon Edge Upgrade Program Goes Live August 25 forum

I understand what you are saying, and I dont disagree with anything that you said. However, Verizon and ATT charging the same plan price for this as they do for plans with subsidized phones, is noticeable to those paying attention. I think they should do what TMo did and lower the plans for ones who are not getting a discount on the devices. So the only thing that I do not like is that the plan prices are ...

Without lowering the plan price, you are being double charged for the handset. ..
Jul 18, 2013, 11:40 AM
in the Article: Verizon Edge Upgrade Program Goes Live August 25 forum

Some are not understanding that the price plan has built into it the cost that allows vz (or att) to subsidize the handset costs..But if the phone isnt being subsidized, the plan should be cheaper (just like tmo's value plans are cheaper than its classic plans). So customers who take advantage of this program are really being double charged for the handsets, since the price plan cost remains the same.

I disagree with your whole thing that you said but I will focus specifically on the price fixing part, since I originally brought the topic up. I think it is a reach to assume that just because Apple's stock has declined, they changed their hard fast rules for the benefit of US Cellular, who is not a big player in the wireless game. Without any other evidence it is just hard to believe that. Being that US Cellular lost 1/2 million customers in a quarter, with the admission from its CEO that the lack of the Iphone was a big reason, it seems more logical ...

Yeah, imagine Apple, who did not cave in to ATT who has 90+ million customers, or Verizon who has 90+ million customers, or Sprint who has 50+ million customers, or T-Mo, who has 40+ millions, decides to cave in to mighty US Cellular, who has a little over 5 million customers. Imagine that!

While I do not work there (and therefore, do not know for sure), I would say that T-Mo would only allow you to pay 1 phone installment at a time. So, if you were still paying on one and wanted to buy another phone, you would have to buy the 2nd at full price upfront. T-Mo people, am I right?

I personally prefer Android phones and am probably getting the S4 or Note 2. However, I think it was a bad business decision for US Cellular not to carry a phone that was extremely popular...Whether it is a "cult phone" or not is irrelevant in the business world. It is only important if it sells well or not,

..to remember how certain US Cellular employees/supporters were so adamant about how it did not need the Iphone, and how US Cellular was so smart in declining it. Well I guess US Cellular finally saw how important a highly popular device really is. Losing 51,000 customers in a quarter (esp being a small company) will do that to you.
