Re: The beauty of Capitalism:
Yup, not that difficult. You get investors and start small. How else you think these 'evil' corporations got where they are today? I'm glad you understand the fundamentals of capitalism.
Re: NOW....
Funding doesn't have to go through the senate.
Re: The beauty of Capitalism:
The beauty of capitalism? Make your own business if you don't like what's happening. It's not that difficult.
Re: NOW....
It's a waste of time responding to numb-nuts like yourself that have the time in the day to correct someone's grammatical errors rather than make further intelligent debate.
Re: NOW....
Thanks teacher for correcting my typing skills while I write quickly on a break from work. I'm glad that this conversation has come down to grammatical trolling. Pure proof that you lost. The government sided on my argument. What's so hard to understand about that?
Re: The beauty of Capitalism:
look up free-market before you call me an idiot, idiot.
Re: The beauty of Capitalism:
AJ - the point is, thanks to capitalism in a free-market, consumers have OPTIONS. Are you liberal? You sound like you're against anything dealing with corporations or business entrepreneurs and would rather have the Feds spoon-feed you your life rather than have the freedom to make choices best for YOURSELF.
Re: NOW....
AJ - the government just said your wrong. You can link to a million sites, I don't care. This argument is mute. I win. Move on.
Re: The beauty of Capitalism:
I disagree. I can lookup in the phonebook "internet providers" and get a whole slew of independent services. Television is different, that is more locked down...but Internet still has many, many choices.
Re: The beauty of Capitalism:
Vote with their wallet is more like. Unfortunately, certain people seem to rather give up their rights as a free-market consumer and have everything controlled by the Feds. Idiots.
Re: Here you go sir...
This wasn't happening PRIOR to NN, so why now? Nothing has changed.
I'm talking about user access from a device, not the bandwidth used by the Twitter/Facebook servers to supply the content/store images/etc
Re: They Need to Go Furher
muscle memory is far more safe than engaging in a conversation holding a phone - more can (has) gone wrong with people talking through their phones. Bluetooth headsets alleviate that so it's more like talking to someone in the car. I don't support a full-on ban, but banning holding the device I can side with, especially with texting and driving.
Re: Here you go sir...
That's a nice fairy tale. They haven't done it now, why would they do it later? Twitter, Facebook, etc don't use much bandwidth...streaming services however, do, and should rightly be charged accordingly.
Re: Here you go sir...
Nice exaggeration. I love when people make businesses out to be the bad guys. Not that there will be some businesses that try that, but on the same coin you can't really blame them. You definitely can't blame a wireless carrier for wanting to protect their assets. This primarily would have effected the carriers right to disconnect or throttle or charge those certain people that break the TOS and tether when they are not supposed to.
Re: They Need to Go Furher
Totally agree. But hey, this is a starting point. Love how I was bashed for saying the FCC was acting outside their jurisdictions. Now I have the government backing my argument. So stfu whoever you were! :)
Re: "Verizon is so confident in the strenght of it's LTE network"
It's that little thing that makes the world-go-round... PROFIT.
Re: Translation: We are switching to LTE
So limited access and nearly unused?
Re: Yes and No
LTE requires sim cards, so doesn't that mean new hardware?
I don't get it
What's so complicated that neither Apple nor Microsoft were apple to implement copy and paste into their devices from the get-go?? It's such a basic function...I mean...it seriously seems like something that would be at the top of the list of "document and email functionality".
Re: Yeah ...
"Of course Verizon would get it"? Sony Ericsson, to this point, has been exclusive to GSM carriers. Everyone expected AT&T or T-Mobile to get this!
Re: Amazing
Sorry, meant manufacturer, not carrier. (damn it Phonescoop, can't you get modern and allow editing???)
Amazing
VZW announces something related to pricing and these boards light up like the 4th of July with nasty remarks. A major device from a GSM carrier associated with a major videogame console gets announced for said network, and the board is dead silent.
Can't blame them
China is near being the new superpower of the world. There is a fear growing in the minds of some Americans of this reality that is causing the Chinese to be as feared as the Muslims are now. Only, rather than being feared of being terrorized and killed, they are fearful of losing their jobs, etc. I don't understand why China can't have a say in the market, yet are able to sell phones? What about other foreign companies ...
32GB!!!
Damn...grandma gone crazy with that phone! I can't get anywhere near that on my DroidX!
Wow
Nobody has posted anything. VZW must actually be doing something right for the people around here! 8)
Re: I think it's garbage.
LoL, Razr V3M? Try the ROKR. Probably the biggest flop in cellphone history. :)
Re: hey verizon, save your money on ads!
What im sick of is people bitching about money. If youre a cheap ass keep it to yourself.
Re: Battery Life?
omg, that's gigantic.
sounds like a unicorn
That really sounds like some mystical unicorn of a phone. If this really pans out, that could be something to watch. However, it being Kyocera leaves a lot of doubt in my mind of its quality.
Re: Irony
Umm ok... your "too good, too powerful, too fast" isn't affected by market or anything...
Just because YOU don't get good speeds on EVDO doesn't mean I don't or million of others don't. I always get better speeds than my friends who are on AT&T. It's a regional thing, not a guarantee.
Re: Maybe Google should..
No, not really. This market has been long needed to have a physical face on the desktop to compete with the AppStore. Besides, an OS release has nothing to do with Google once they complete it, it's in the hands of the manufacturers and carriers to get it out.
Re: Of course they did
They have not been refuted. The law the FCC passed is unconstitutional. No branch of government is allowed to create laws that conflict with that. Although, apparently Obama and his loony followers seem to think so or this conversation would not be happening.
Re: $$$
**** Sprint.
Of course they did
Why on earth would a government division restructured by the current Whitehouse administration think that making up illegal laws is wrong? I hope to god this 'quash' doesn't happen or there really is no limit to this new government we are being forced into.
Re: $$$
With less efficiency and less features? Absolutely!
Re: Or we can jailbreak and use MyWi
Yeah, cause god forbid VZW protects it's network from unauthorized usage.
Re: More!
STFU - all carriers charge for this service.
Re: talk+text+surf=gsm
I would expect people of PhoneScoop to be more educated about this. CDMA CAN do simultaneous voice and data if the handset supports it. This is supposed to be available to carriers in the Spring. Now, how long before a carrier decides to implement that is something different. HOWEVER, even if they do implement it, the CURRENT iPhone4 cannot support it without a hardware upgrade. This, however, does not mean that they won't release a revamped version that does ...
Re: how can anyone who uses the internet be against net neutrality?
The ISP is a private establishment. They have the right to operate their service as they see fit, whether you agree with it or not. The Internet is not 'public', which is why this whole thing is against the 5th amendment. The government is trying to control the Internet like it's a public utility and that's against the law. People are making up these fantastical 'what if' scenarios like the book you just wrote and not looking at this ...
Re: Oh how come...........
Since when is the Internet public domain? It's NOT. You don't own my website, I do. You don't own my servers, I do. You don't own the access that Comcast, Time Warner, and others do, THEY do. You don't own their infrastructure, THEY do.
