71 isn't even rolled out across the whole country, and by the time it is this phone will be old news.

Re: Interface
Jul 1, 2007, 9:14 PM

the UI is incredible. by far the most amazing looking, and integrated ui on a cell phone to date. apple raised the bar for phones. no, it the iphone doesn't have the greatest hardware, but the ui will blow you away. contacts are so integrated into messaging (sms and email), tapping a phone number in a web page will call it, looking up contact's addresses in google maps, plotting a route to get there, and viewing the traffic ...

Re: iSync over Bluetooth with Mac OS X

works fine for me. phone numbers are all in my address book and it pushes them out to my v600 and slvr now with one click. very sweet.

Re: Auto Key lock?
Mar 25, 2006, 2:49 PM
in the Motorola SLVR L7 forum

not an auto lock. but if you hit menu (the dash below the screen) then * you will manually lock the pad. i don't believe there is an auto lock. stupid, but as others have said. i haven't accidently dialed anyone yet either.

Re: Another Charging Question.
May 11, 2004, 6:22 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

when my phone is done charging the inside and outside screen both say "completed charging" or something like that. most chargers start out filling up fast and when the battery is near full they slow down. they will also slow down if the battery is overheating. try leaving it in overnight and see what it says in the morning. also try draining it dead (that the phone shuts off) and then charging it 24 hours. it's possible that the software charge ...

Re: Question about charging a battery

well. disagree all you want. but lion batteries don't develop a chemical "memory" effect. if you're interested in more check out: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/part two-34.htm

Re: Question about charging a battery
May 5, 2004, 7:42 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

the phone uses a lithium ion battery. there is no "memory" effect with these batteries. so there's no reason to let it drain all the way down nor a "best" way to charge it. feel free to charge it whenever it's handy. i generally plug mine in overnight when i'm at home. if i'm out one night or two i don't worry. if i'm going to be gone more than that i take my charger with me.

it works just fine between my t3 and my v600. bluetooth is always on (when it's enabled). don't know who said it wasn't. any time i try and check email with my t3 it works just fine (and is far better than the client in the phone).

dust on the blue screen?
Apr 7, 2004, 7:08 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

i've had my phone 3 weeks now and started noticing dust on the outside screen (the blue one that normally shows the clock). it's under the plastic cover and on top of the lcd. a bit of it in there too. not exactly sure where it got in. :( anyone else notice the same thing?

Re: Voicemail Password?

even better, put in a w (for wait). when you edit a phone number press the menu key (above the 4-way) and insert a pause, wait or link to another number. the wait is pretty handy. the phone will dial. then wait, when you are ready for it to dial the rest you hit the upper-right softkey (it will say OK) and it will dial the rest. never saw this on another phone and wish i had.

Re: Question???
Apr 5, 2004, 11:12 AM

thanks for the tip! i didn't know this. is there a way to desginate the "primary" number or is it simply the first one entered for the contact?

Re: voice dialing not working anyone else
Mar 31, 2004, 2:32 PM
in the Motorola V600 forum

have you recorded a voice tag for the number yet? you have to record the tag (twice). then to dial you hit the voice button, speak the tag, and there you go. works just fine for me thru the phone or my bluetooth headset (jabra 200).

Re: EDGE??
Mar 31, 2004, 8:23 AM

it's a misprint as the phone doesn't have the edge software in it. unless there's some sort of upgrade coming down the line.

Guess what! They ALL suck!
Mar 31, 2004, 8:22 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

AT&T, Verizion, Cingular, Nextel. They ALL suck. Every one of them has places where reception stinks. Every one of them isn't offered in some area across the country or the other. They all have some clueless customer support individuals answering the phones and they all will try and get as much money out of you as possible. Pick a provider you dislike the least, stick with them and be happy! Personally I've been with AT&T, Nextel, T-Mobile and Cingular all when I ...

Re: Video Recording
Mar 29, 2004, 11:43 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

correct. the v600 can PLAY video clips you download in the the phone. the v600 CAN take pictures and view them on the screen, mms them out, email them out, bluetooth them out. the v600 CAN NOT take video clips. it can send video clips out by bluetooth to other devices though (copy/move) lame. maybe just a software upgrade away you'd think.

why call if you're only going to be put on a wait list? many people have posted about your scam. take it elsewhere would ya?

Re: Palm T3 & V600 va Bluetooth
Mar 25, 2004, 3:02 PM
in the Motorola V600 forum

Even better. I can push photos to & from my phone to my Palm. Unfortunately if they aren't screen size for the phone it simply displays "Too Large" and that's that. :-( It's too bad it can't scale it down to fit the screen. Video clips transfer too. :) Unfortunately I don't seem to find a way to transfer audio clips. It's too bad. I can record and edit easier on my Palm and then could send it over.

Palm T3 & V600 va Bluetooth
Mar 25, 2004, 2:50 PM
in the Motorola V600 forum

:) I just wanted to happily say that my Palm T3 works just fine with my V600 and connecting via AT&T GPRS service. On your V600 select Settings, Connections, Bluetooth, Setup, Find Me (to put it in discoverable mode). In the Phone Link application (on your Palm) select Motorola then TP280i. It will find your phone, let them handshake, connect, put the same PIN in on both and they will happily bind. Select AT&T Wireless GPRS as your Network Service on your ...

as you said your message was a troll.. enjoy your AT&T v600 when you manage to get it. until then i'm very happy with using my v600 (plus all the extras it came with) now with whatever service i choose. the $575 i paid for the phone, headset, faceplate, software, cable and shipping were worth the cost to me obviously. i have a much better job than mcd's so it wasn't more than a blip in my wallet. again, if you're ...

well. you can always ebay the parts you don't need like the headset. definately the "package" is a better deal from plemix than just the phone itself. as for the data cable, no, there doesn't appear to be any mac supported software and it doesn't work under virtual pc as many have pointed out. but you have no access at all to a pc? friend? relative? work? if all you want to do is a quick flash all you need ...

actually. i wasn't flaming him. i was pointing out the valid reasons for getting a phone not from AT&T. i had no idea he was an ATTWS employee, but i don't know if that's a blessing or a curse. as i said, his phone is no more or less "real" than anyone else's. and he'll still be stuck with an at&t branded phone with their flex (unless, of course, he flashes it with someone else's ;-) ) personally, i thought his ...

not only works better but has features that you'll never see on your locked-down AT&T phone. you'll only be getting what AT&T wants you to get. you think AT&T's will have "stable" software? hah. you obviously don't work with computers. no software is bug free. why do you think AT&T has held off on the phone already for months? bad software. no. the people who get AT&T's first batch of v600s will be the beta testers. you'll have to be ...

Re: Latest S/W and Flex??
Mar 24, 2004, 8:12 AM

what do you need help with? your phone sounds exactly like the one i got a week ago (green startup screen). i flashed it (apparently illegally too) with 1DR. still have the green screen, but now european languages instead of the asian ones. but what's the problem you're having?

Re: Legal Issues???
Mar 24, 2004, 8:10 AM

hmm.. well. i bought my phone over the internet. it was shipped from asia, for use in asia. probably made there too, along with my computer, tv, microwave, clothing, etc. etc. so i can only flash it with asian software? baahahaha.. sounds like a typical clueless support person just trying to scare you. booooooo. now buy an AT&T phone only, give us your money and go away like a happy sheep. don't think for yourself. let them come get my "illegal" v600 out ...

back faceplate problem
Mar 23, 2004, 10:50 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

[probably only the other people who've gotten their phone from plemix will know what i'm talking about..] do any of you notice a problem with the colored back plates? the silver one the phone came with fits just fine. when i try to put the blue one on it doesn't fit right on the left (looking at the back) side. the problem is the hole where that black thing pokes through isn't large enough. it's larger on the silver plate. does ...

1. it's possible that you can fubar it so that it can only be fixed at the factory. 2. yes. i have been using a w2k machine as well as a xp machine.

acutally. if you have the mobile phone tools installed i don't think you need the PST drivers. when it asked for them they were older versions than what MPT installed. i overwrote them anyway and had nothing but trouble, neither application would work. i re-installed MTP and everything was happy with those drivers.

sending mms via att?
Mar 22, 2004, 3:21 PM
in the Motorola V600 forum

ok.. i'm having problems sending mms messages. i set up both mms and mmode via the config page. under web sessions i have both AWS MMS and mMode GPRS, both are locked. with either one picked, i can't seem to send a mmode message. the web site says to have AWS MMS selected. under Message Setup I have: service centre no: +19078319301 email gateway: 000000 use gprs: no what am i missing? thanks!

sorry to hear about your problems. :( try reflashing it? where did you get your 1DR from? i got mine from cjb.net. i flashed with just the triplets file and didn't add in the extra flex file.

removing email providers?
Mar 22, 2004, 8:48 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

someone had told me the trick of using PST to remove the web session providers. does anyone know what to remove to clear out the list of email providers (messages->email setup). it's full of providers i won't use and i wanted to clean up the list. i can't delete them though and i can't seem to find them in PST. anyone know? thanks!

why not..? i flashed to 1DR and am actually happier with it. it ditched the asian languages (and replaced them with european ones). there are some extra menu items that weren't around before, mostly ones on phone status and versions. i haven't noticed a single problem with the DR version and i've been using the phone all weekend. with and without a bluetooth headset (jabra 200). i haven't had any white screens of death or lockups. not saying you should flash ...

no. but by the time you pay $299, lock yourself into a 2 year contract, and end up with a branded, locked phone. you will have paid a lot more.

well i've had my phone from plemix a few days now and while i'm happy at&t will finally get it in a few weeks i think i got the better deal. look at it this way: $575USD for unbranded unlocked phone (package cost) Sell 801 headset (i have my jabra 200 still) on ebay, estimate $100 (i've seen 'em sell for far more). Sell Samsung x426 on ebay, estimate $75 (again i've seen them sell for more). Include the software, cable, extra faceplate ...

not biting your head off. i'm glad you're finally getting your kit. AT&T's delays are not your fault. but i am glad i got my phone from plemix. it came with a lot more for the money than i would have gotten with AT&T. i got a phone from AT&T i can turn around and resell on ebay which will lower my cost further. i was reluctant to purchase a phone outside of a provider and use it with their ...
